Calla was a little bewildered by his sudden announcement of a business trip. She asked, “How long will you be gone? When will you be back?”

He thought for a while before saying, “In about three to four days. If anything happens, you can call Ally.”

Mercer soon finished his meal and wiped his mouth elegantly with a napkin. He reached for the briefcase in Calla’s hand. But Calla suddenly tightened her hold on the briefcase and wouldn’t let go.

She wondered which designer worked on the interior and selected furniture for the place. The whole place was filled with nothing but black and white. Not only did it seem icy and stiff, it also created a sense of repression.

However, the interior design and the furniture couldn’t be changed. Calla could only put up a few decorative pieces to make up for the lack of color.
