Chapter 62
“Your daughters are all grown up now, alright? Stop using them as an excuse. I see you’re deliberately trying to reconcile with Rudy. You’re truly shameless,” Jill accused Carol.
Seeing Carol being bullied by Jill again, Calla couldn’t bear it anymore. She rushed over and pointed at Jill, angrily rebuking. “You were a homewrecker back then You broke our family. Now you have the nerve to speak ill of others? I think you’re the most shameless one here.”
‘Calla, you’re much younger. How can you talk to your stepmom like this?” Rudy stepped forward to scold Calla.
Seeing Rudy, who appeared so righteous at this moment, Calla sneered. “You’re not my father anymore. Why would I have a stepmom? Don’t make me feel nauseous. I have nothing to do with you shameless people.”
“You… you’re really trying to upset me, aren’t you?” Rudy clutched his chest with his left hand, pretending to be in pain.
If Carol wasn’t anxious before, she was now. She pulled Calla–who spoke up for her–and said, “Calla, stop this. Don’t upset your dad.”
“I’ve said this before–he’s not my dad anymore. My dad died 15 years ago. He’s dead!” Calla shouted. Just then, Jill stepped forward to support Rudy. With a snicker, she added fuel to the fire. “Rudy, don’t be angry. It’s not worth getting upset over this disrespectful daughter. Let me teach her a lesson instead.” With that, Jill turned her head to Calla and snarled, “Calla, stop calling me a homewrecker. I don’t think you’re innocent either. I heard you’re pregnant. Where’s your man? Why haven’t you gotten married yet? Is the man you’re with also married?”
Calla immediately retorted, “Stop spouting nonsense. I’m already married; we just haven’t had the
wedding reception yet. I’m not so shameless as to become a homewrecker and destroy other people’s families.”
At this moment, Peggy stepped forward with a cold smile. “Already married? With whom? Where is he? This is your cousin’s wedding–a big occasion. Your husband should show up, right? But there’s no sign of him. I’m sure he’s a shady character. You look every bit a mistress to me.”
“Who are you calling a mistress? Say that again!” Calla was filled with anger as she shouted at Peggy.
Peggy was supported by Rudy and Jill. Not only was she fearless, she was more arrogant than before. She raised her chin and arrogantly shouted, “I’m talking about you. What are you gonna do about it? You really must be a mistress!”
“You’re really asking for it!” Calla shouted and furiously raised her hand, slapping Peggy across the face.
Peggy probably didn’t expect Calla to slap her in front of her parents. She was mad and humiliated as she covered her feverish cheek. She looked at Calla with fierce eyes, yelling, “Calla, how dare you hit me? I’ll make sure you regret it!”
You dare hit my daughter? You’re really asking for trouble, aren’t you?” Jill immediately went over to attack Calla after seeing Peggy being slapped
Seeing Jill and Peggy charging toward her, Calla immediately used both hands to protect her belly.

This was bad. Calla thought that she’d definitely suffer today. She was fine with suffering, but the baby in her belly mustn’t get hurt.
Calla took two steps back as Jill and Peggy lunged at her. One tried to grab her hair, and the other attempted to slap her. Calla closed her eyes, tightly shielding her unborn child.
