From that day on, Calla started experiencing morning sickness. They were quite severe. She almost couldn’t eat anything without throwing up. Any pungent or strong smell would make her vomit violently.

Within a few days. She was listless and had lost a lot of weight.

One morning, Derek handed Calla a document and instructed, “This is last month’s financial report. Mr. Garland is waiting for it. Deliver it immediately.”

Calla frowned after hearing that she had to deliver the report to Mercer. She was reluctant to see him at the moment.

Seeing Calla hesitate, Derek frowned and said, “The task is easy. I’ve been trying to accommodate you. I don’t make you work overtime or force you to spend too much time on the computer. But you need to understand my position as well. I can’t manage everyone if there’s no order.”

“No problem. I was just wondering if there were any issues with the report. It would be bad if Mr. Garland sends it back.” Calla quickly found an excuse.

After all, work was work. Personal feelings had to be kept personal. She couldn’t let private matters interfere with her job. Besides, she could just give the report to Mercer’s secretary, Ally. Calla didn’t necessarily have to meet him.

Hearing Calla’s words, Derek nodded. “I know you’re not that delicate.”

After Derek went into his office, Calla picked up the report and walked out of the financial department’s

office.

When she reached the CEO’s office, Calla smiled and placed the report on Ally’s desk. “Ms. Reynolds, this is the last month’s report that Mr. Garland is waiting for. Please make sure he gets it as soon as possible.

Ally immediately stood up as soon as she saw Calla. Although Calla’s identity as the CEO’s wife couldn’t be revealed in the company, Ally still had to treat her with the utmost respect.

“Mr. Garland is inside. Wouldn’t you like to deliver it personally?” Ally asked, taking the report while

Calla shook her head. “I have a lot of other things to do. Please help me deliver it to him.”

“Alright.” Ally nodded. Just then, the door to the CEO’s office opened. A charming woman walked out. She was wearing a red low–cut blouse and a black miniskirt

Calla’s face stiffened as she saw Peggy. She immediately turned to leave, feeling uneasy. It seemed that Peggy and Mercer had indeed been growing close these past few days.

Seeing Calla, Peggy wanted to show off. How could she let Calla go just like that? Thus, Peggy stepped forward–and blocked Calla’s path.

Calla was annoyed at Peggy and looked at her with disdain. She asked coldly, “What do you want?”

Peggy crossed her arms and sneered. “We’re practically sisters. Isn’t it reasonable to have a word when

we meet?”

“I don’t think I’m lucky enough to be your sister.” Calla scoffed.

Peggy circled Calla and laughed coldly, “Since you put it that way, don’t blame me if I don’t look out for

you at Atlas.”

Calla looked up at Peggy in confusion. “You? Look out for me?”

Peggy cleared her throat arrogantly and said, “Mercer and I are getting along very well. He likes me a lot and treats me very well. If things go smoothly, I’ll be the mistress of Atlas in the future. If you make me unhappy, I’ll send you packing immediately.”

Hearing that, Calla couldn’t help but laugh at Peggy’s words. Peggy was really full of herself, thinking that Mercer would marry her just because they were flirting. It was utterly ridiculous.

Besides, Mercer would have to divorce Calla first if he wanted to marry Peggy.
