Chapter 39

“She’s so disgusting.” Alicia whispered in Calla’s ear.

Calla glanced at the two figures ahead and said, “Hang in there a little longer. We’re almost there.”

Soon, the two–hour bus journey came to an end as the buses pulled Into Luna Resort.

Luna Resort was nestled among mountains and rivers, boasting not only beautiful scenery but also comprehensive facilities. As soon as they got off the bus, the refreshing air greeted them.

Each group was assigned a tour guide. Then, Calla and the others received their hotel room keys.

Mercer, Simon, and Ally naturally couldn’t stay in regular hotel rooms. The resort’s staff led them to the VIP wing as soon as they got off the bus.

Meanwhile, Peggy stubbornly tagged along, dragging her suitcase behind her. It was obvious that she was planning to stay in the VIP wing as well.

“What a joke! She’s bringing shame to all women!” Alicia scoffed.

“Aren’t you tired from the ride? Let’s go to our room.” Calla maintained her composure despite feeling disappointed inside.

“Oh, by the way, do you want to hand your reflection statement to Mr. Garland yourself? It’s an opportunity for interaction, after all.” Alicia suddenly pulled out the reflection statement she had written for Calla with a hint of mischief in her eyes.

“Do you think I’m like Peggy? If I go and hand it over myself, he’ll probably find me annoying.” Calla shook her head.

Alicia frowned. “But didn’t Mr. Garland ask you to submit the reflection statement before the weekend?”

Calla looked at the statement in her hand, feeling conflicted. She really didn’t want to go to the VIP wing and risk bumping into Peggy.

Noticing her dilemma, Alicia smiled and offered, “How about I hand it to him for you?”

“You’re really my life savior.” Calla quickly clasped her hands together in gratitude.

Alicia took the reflection statement and left. After about 15 minutes, she returned.

“Calla, you have no idea how much better the VIP wing is compared to where we’re staying. The hot springs, the villas… Words can’t even begin to describe it!” Alicia exclaimed while dancing with excitement upon her return.

“Did you deliver the reflection statement?” Calla didn’t really care about the VIP wing since she wasn’t staying there anyway.

I gave it to Simon. He said he would personally deliver it to Mr. Garland,” Alicia replied.

Hearing this, Calla felt relieved. After all, this was considered business. She and Mercer–had always kept a clear boundary between work and personal matters.

In fact, it seemed like there was hardly any personal interaction between them.

At that moment, a colleague came to summon everyone downstairs. Calla and Alicia quickly changed

their clothes and went to the lobby.

As night fell, Atlas employees attended the dinner party in their finest attire.

Calla was no exception. She wore a light green V–neck chiffon dress with a silver hairpin adorning her head. Her slightly curled hair cascaded down her back, and her face was adorned with light makeup, giving her a fresh and natural look that captivated the attention of many male colleagues.

Mercer arrived shortly after, still dressed in his signature black suit. Despite his monotonous attire, he managed to capture the hearts of all the females present. Their eyes followed him wherever he went.
