Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 50
Ayame-
-POV "Vil?" I asked, aimlessly petting his fur. He huffed once and I waited. "What if I turn into a werebear because of my past and all of this is for nothing?"
He pulled his head off my lap and looked at me. I could see the brow raise almost immediately. I giggled lightly. "I guess you're right. At this point, does it even matter?"
He plopped his head down on my lap again and I stretched, snuggling further into his back. "I don't know. I should be more concerned with this, but I'm just going to enjoy the fun of being a little different. Not being the scared little girl anymore. Even better, I get to train in my spirit form, which will definitely hurt a lot less." I immediately thought about how I could train and get stronger for them, for my pack, and for the impending fight against Prince Chaz. I just know in my gut that I need to do this and soon. The more I stared out at the waves slowly rising and falling on the skyline, the more I confirmed my initial thoughts. It had to happen before we left this oasis. Before I have to push myself back into the turmoil of reality.
Suddenly, Vil shot his head toward the yacht, seeing his brothers waving at us. They seemed to be in distress. Vil immediately got to his feet, careful not to knock me over, and nudged me to do the same. I agreed and threw everything in a pile to wrap it in a large blanket. Many paragraphs are missing. Read the complete book on Jo=b n-l b. c (o) m. He laid down next to me and pointed to his back. I didn't question it. I hopped on and he bolted toward the docks while I held onto our stuff tightly. I was looking forward to getting into the water later, but this didn't seem like a possibility anymore.
Once we got on deck, he skidded to a halt and I hopped off. Vil shifted and Conri threw him a pair of sweats. "We need to go now. The plane is waiting for us. We will go straight from the docks. We can pick up our stuff on a different trip!" Conri called, while Edon was barking out orders to the crew. "Wha-what's going on?" I asked, feeling my body shake.
Conri stood in front of me and sighed. "The one thing I was worried about. It looks like the pack will be getting a visit from royalty." He walked off combing his fingers through his hair and I felt a chill at how distant he became in only twenty-four hours. The man who made me feel so perfect only a short while ago is now looking at me as if the only thing I could do was enrage him.
"Get moving! We need to be in the air in three hours!" Edon called before jogging up to me. The boat started abruptly, and he caught me before I hit the floor. This was a new kind of speed I didn't know this vessel could go. "Hey princess, let's go inside." He kissed my forehead and Vil took his place yelling at everyone - while Conri went up to the captain's nest.
I ran behind Edon as we went below deck and made our way to his room. "What's going on, Edon?" I asked again, hoping for a more detailed answer this time.
He chuckled. "I think it's a good thing that we will be able to...chat...on our turf, but Conri is on edge. Prince Chaz sent the pack an invite that just arrived today. We got an email from Kyle, and we only had three days to prepare. Conri already has the pack on alert and our vacation will be cut short, unfortunately."
Well, that was much better this time. You know...more context. "Okay, that sounds fair, but I want to talk to you three while we are in the air. Even...even if I have to strap Conri down to do it." I won't let this emergency deter me.
Edon growled lowly as his eyes flashed to yellow and back again. "I would like to see you tied down instead, princess." My breath hitched and I took the response as best as I could. It was completely off guard and totally out of character for him. Maybe he took a note from his brothers. He froze and shook his head as if he had just remembered something important. "Sor -"
I rested my hand on his cheek and he froze, holding his hand on the door handle. "I don't mind." I whispered, and I could feel his jaw clench as I looked up at him through my lashes.
He cleared his throat and opened his door. "We can stay here until we dock." He added, pulling away from me and foraging through his closet. He pulled out a deck of cards and this time it was my turn to laugh.
"Card games?" I said, pushing through my laughter.
He smirked and I felt a slap on my bum that I was not expecting, forcing a squeak from my lips. "Be nice, angel." I shivered as Vil's voice rested right behind my ear.
I nodded and ran over to the table, sitting down immediately. "What game will we be playing?" I could feel my cheeks redden but the two of them, thankfully, ignored it.
"Poker." Edon and Vil said together.
I pulled my legs up and crossed them on the cushion. "Deal me in." I beamed and continued to focus on these two sore losers while we flew through the water.
Once we made it back to the airstrip, Vil gave me his sweatshirt and we rushed into the plane. It took off the minute we made it into the cabin and strapped in. After that, everything was a blur until I was startled awake by Edon. "Hey, princess. We can chat now if you want." I stretched and unraveled my body from the leather seat I had snuggled into. "Sure."
I unbuckled my seatbelt and walked behind Edon to the back of the cabin. Conri was looking through something on his computer and Vil was doing the same on a tablet. The two of them really looked pretty focused at the moment. I wonder if Edon was the only one ready to have this conversation. I don't know why he would assume for them. "Edon..." I mumbled reaching out to hold onto his white pullover shirt.
"Yes, princess?"
"I thought you said they weren't busy." I whimpered worriedly.
He smirked. "They won't be." He kissed my forehead and took my hand from his shirt to interlace his fingers with mine. "Guys, Ayame has something she would like to say. We didn't give her the time to since we had to rush home."
Vil patted the couch next to him and Edon led me to sit next to Vil while Edon plopped down on the opposite side. "What's up, Angel?" Vil asked while he continued to fish through what looked like reports.
When I stared out at the table in front of me scattered with documents and photos, I knew this wasn't a good time for this. I turned to Edon, regretting my request from earlier, and he ushered me to say something. Oh well, better late than never. "I know...who I want to mark me first." I said with a sigh.
Both Conri and Vil froze with their hands hovering over the keys. "What?" Conri growled.
I winced. He's still in a shitty mood. I knew this wasn't a good time. "I...I know who I want to mark me?" I said with more of a questionable tone in my voice.
"Eight days." Conri said shortly.
I furrowed my brow and looked over at him. "What?"
"The full moon is in eight days and the King of assholes is coming to our pack and you choose now to make this decision?!" Conri slammed his laptop and I let my jaw drop.
"Excuse me?!" I shouted back. Not even three days, and one of the triplets just had to open his mouth. And what does my decision have to do with the full moon?! I've done a lot of research and, to be honest, there really isn't much about shifting from human to supernatural, but there was nothing about the full moon in that documentation.
"Sorry, Ayame. He's just a little stressed, he didn't mean it, I swear." Edon's words were rushed and he looked like he was trying his best to become the mediator. Vil remained silent.
"Nope! I'm sorry. I guess I'm always an inconvenience for at least one of you! Sorry my timing is so shitty!" I heaved before climbing over Edon and running to the bedroom. It's the only place on this plane where there is also some privacy. I slammed the door and clicked the lock. I don't care if they could break down this heavy-duty plastic, I just want to make a point!
I climbed into my bed and I heard them arguing almost immediately. I held my hands over my ears and closed my eyes. They'll stop eventually. Me, on the other hand, will stay here.... Yeah, I'll stay here until we land! -POV Conri-
Sh*t! I heard her slam the door and a fist connected with my face faster than I could blink. "You son of a bitch! You are fucking kidding me right now." Edon was looming over me while Vil was doing his best to hold him back. "I would have let her sleep if that was the asinine comment that would come from your stupid mouth!" He shouted again.
"Edon! Cool off dude!" Vil continued to pull him but Edon was right. He should have let her sleep. I tasted the nickle in my mouth and I knew he split my lip. I got up and resituated myself. I cannot let this get to me.
"Then you two coddle her. I'm busy." I continued shortly.
"You fucking asshole!" Edon shouted again while Vil pulled him to the back of the plane.
"Baby, angel, please open the door. Edon is going to kill Conri!" Vil said, and I could hear the strain in his voice as the latch clicked and silence engulfed the cabin. I stared at the email and rubbed my face once my lip healed. The slam of the door after Edon and Vil stepped in almost raddled the whole plane.
Kyle finally sent me the full email and that was the same time Ayame told us that she had decided about which spirit she had chosen. Right when I was reading that bastard's cocky ass response and I just lost it. I told her Lycans have short tempers. I warned her...that's fair.
