Chapter 80
Chapter 80
In Star Kindergarten, the school bell had already rung, and the parents were waiting to pick up their children.
A sharp–eyed teacher noticed Randall and exclaimed excitedly, “Look, that’s Randall! The CEO of the Reeves Group.” “He’s so handsome. He actually came to pick up Lindsay personally?”
“But Lindsay didn’t come to school today.”
Then who is he here to pick up?”
Inside the classroom, Oliver and Milo looked at Little Tail’s empty seat with a sense of unease. Little Tail didn’t come to school today.
Was it because she was sad that she didn’t come to school?
Anna noticed Lindsay didn’t come. She touched the new hairpin on her head, feeling pleased with herself.
She believed that her words had worked, causing Lindsay to be too discouraged to come to school. From now on, she would still be the most dazzling presence in this class.
“Oliver, it’s all her fault. I really want to teach her a lesson,” Milo said..
Oliver replied, “For now, let’s spare her. She hurt Little Tail, so she should apologize to Little Tail.”
Milo understood Oliver’s meaning and decided to confront Anna when Little Tail was present.
He would listen to his older brother!
“Mr. Reeves, whom are you here to pick up?” Rebecca asked.
Randall’s tone was cold. “Oliver and Milo.”
When Oliver and Milo realized that Randall had come to pick them up, they were shocked, and even Rebecca was surprised.
This man was Randall, Lindsay’s father. Why would he come to pick up Oliver and Milo?
“This is the pick–up card for Oliver and Milo. Their mother entrusted me to pick them up. Randall said.
Rebecca took a look and confirmed that it was indeed the pick–up card for the two children.
“Oliver, Milo, and Lindsay have a great relationship in the class. I didn’t expect that your families also have connections. In that case, Mr. Reeves, I’ll entrust Oliver and Milo to you,” Rebecca said.
With Randall’s identity and the pick–up card in hand, Rebecca handed Oliver and Milo over to him.
Milo looked up at the tall man before him. It was his scumbag dad.
He had imagined his daddy coming to pick him and his brother up from school before. But after coming to Archiland, he had given up hope because his dad turned out to be a scumbag.
Yet here he was, their scumbag dad, coming to pick them up.
Could it be a conspiracy?
“Where’s my mommy? Why are you the one picking us up?”
Milo looked at Randall with a guarded expression. Could this man be up to something bad with their mommy? Did he steal the pick–up card from their mommy, trying to get rid of them once and for all?
For the first time, Randall was being looked at with such suspicion, especially by a child.
Did he really give off such a dangerous vibe?
“Lindsay is sick, and your mommy is at my home taking care of her and couldn’t make it to pick you up. So, she asked me to come and pick you up on her behalf,” Randall explained.
After learning the reason, Milo relaxed his guard slightly.
So, Little Tail didn’t come to school today because she was sick.
“What happened to Little Tail? Is she okay?” Milo asked.
“Lindsay just has a slight cold today, so she didn’t come to school. Come with me,” Randall replied.
Milo glanced at Oliver, and Oliver nodded slightly. Milo understood that his brother meant they could follow Randall.
Then, Oliver and Milo followed Randall into the car, with Randall driving in the front.
The two boys sat in the back, and it felt a bit strange to have three men together for the first time. No one spoke during the journey, creating an awkward atmosphere.
Chapter 80
To ease the tension, Randall broke the silence. “Are you two hungry? Would you like to get some snacks or drinks on the way?“***
Though Oliver and Milo weren’t his children, and he wasn’t accustomed to taking care of kids, he picked them up on behalf of Christine after all. He couldn’t let her children go hungry or thirsty.
Milo looked out the window and said, “Stop at the next intersection.”
Randall stopped the car and asked, “What would you like to cat?”
Thinking that the two boys might be hungry and wanted to buy something to eat, Randall was surprised when Milo shook his head and said, “I don’t want to buy food. I want to go inside and get something.”
Milo pointed to a toy store. It was filled with toys and dolls, which seemed very appealing to children.
“You wait for us here. My brother and I will be quick. Mr. Reeves,” Milo said.
Milo didn’t want to address his scumbag dad politely, but his mommy had told him to be polite.
He didn’t acknowledge Randall as their dad, so he would just call him Mr. Reeves.
For some reason, when Milo called him “Mr. Reeves,” Randall felt a sudden pang in his heart.
Even though the term was correct, he couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.
After Milo finished speaking, he grabbed his brother’s hand and walked towards the toy store, with Randall following behind them.
Randall had a very attractive appearance, and he drew the attention of women passing by.
“That guy is so handsome. Should I go ask for his WhatsApp?”
The woman at the side was tempted, but her friend chuckled and said, “You’re so blind. Can’t you see that the handsome man already has two sons? Look, the two boys walking in front of him, they look exactly like him. You still want to ask for his WhatsApp?”
“Oh
my,
he has two sons already. What a missed opportunity. But seriously, his two sons are really handsome.”
“Yes, they look so handsome.”
“Should I go get to know his two sons?”
“Are you crazy? They’re so young, and you’re not letting them off the hook.”
“Well, I can wait until they become adults. Nowadays, it’s trendy for older women to be in relationships with younger men, isn’t it? These two boys are so handsome, just like their dad. They will only get better as they grow up. I should secure my place in advance.”
“Alright, enough daydreaming. Let’s go, let’s go. Stop wasting your time looking at the adorable boys.”
Randall’s eyes darkened. Many people said Oliver and Milo looked a lot like him. He didn’t know where Christine found two boys who looked so much like him.
“Oliver, what should we buy for Little Tail?” Milo asked.
Oliver expressionlessly pointed at a pink deer plushie.
The deer plushie had a pair of small and adorable antlers. It also had big, cute eyes. It looked incredibly cute and lovely.
When they saw it, it reminded them of Little Tail.
Milo stood on tiptor and took the deer plushie down, saying to his brother, “Oliver, this plushie really looks like Little Tail. Let’s buy this and give it to Little Tail.”
At that moment, they noticed there was a larger version of the deer plushie on top, with the same design, just in a bigger
size.
Milo happily pointed to the bigger deer plushie and said, “Let’s give this one to Mommy.”
“Mommy will like it.”
Oliver remained expressionless, but his voice revealed his happiness.
Milo tried to stand on tiptoe, but he couldn’t reach the larger deer plushie.
Then, Oliver crouched down and said to Milo, “Come up. I’ll carry you so you can reach it.”
