Chapter 98
Chapter 98
Perhaps even the heavens could not bear what I had suffered in my past life, which was why they were all on my side in this one.
“Alright, no problem!”
Landing this contract was a great start for Selena.
She was delighted and insisted on dragging me to Hector’s club to celebrate that night.
Selena was now a regular at Hector’s club, and when we got there, she was more at home than at her own home.
She ordered a private room and partied wildly with me, then called Yvonne and her other party–loving friends before ordering the most expensive champagne to celebrate the successful signing of the contract.
I was glad to see how happy she was.
As we were having fun, Hector appeared in our room with Xales and Shane in tow.
Hector was still dressed casually in trendy clothes, and this time, he had a row of diamond studs in his left ear. He had also changed his hairstyle. He appeared very young and hip.
Xales attached himself to Selena when he arrived, and they began playing with dice.
Shane was a lawyer, so he seemed rather aloof but did not reject the two women who approached him. They flirted with him for a while and then began playing games together.
I walked out onto the balcony with a glass of alcohol in my hand. I wanted to get a breath of
fresh air and look at the view outside.
After a while, Hector came out, also carrying a glass of alcohol.
He stood beside me, smiling, and suddenly asked, “How was it? Did today’s arrangement go well?”
What was he talking about?
I didn’t understand what he was referring to, so I looked at him confusedly.
“What are you referring to?”
Hector clinked his glass with mine, then took a sip as he grinned.
“I’m, of course, referring to the fact that Sabrina was missing today. Did you really think

that the heavens were helping you?”
My jaw dropped in shock.
I had never expected Hector to know about this. Not only that, but it seemed that he had orchestrated this event.
But why?
9/9
When he saw my shock, he flicked me on the nose and smiled, saying, “Did you think Sabrina was absent on purpose? I told Shane to give Nathan two tickets to Jay’s concert, and I instructed him to surprise Sabrina. Nathan led to her and lured her out of the city, which made her miss this important event with Holmes Group.”
So everything had been part of Hector’s plan?
How had he known I didn’t want Sabrina and Gordon to interact?
Also, how did he know so much about all of this?
I looked at Hector as strangely. I had so many questions in my heart, and I was increasingly becoming more convinced he was a prophet who knew what would happen before it took place. How did he know about so many things in advance?
Why was he suddenly willing to be my friend? Why had he done his best to help me time and time again?
