Chapter 99
Chapter 99
“Hector, why did you do that?” I asked doubtfully as I looked at him.
He patted me on the head and laughed as he said, “To help you, silly. When I saw what you were like at the hospital, I knew that you cared about every woman who appeared beside Gordon. As a friend, I’m simply helping you eliminate the obstacles.”
His explanation sounded logical.
However, I clearly remembered that all of them had been immediately drawn to Sabrina in my past life. They had clearly rejected me, and Hector had treated Sabrina like a younger sister at the time. He had taken care of everything for her, just like he was doing now for me.
Why had he changed so drastically?
I frowned as I looked at him. He seemed harder to read than Gordon, and I couldn’t make
sense of it no matter how I tried.
“But even if you told Nathan to trick Sabrina into attending the concert, she could still rush
back.”
Hector simply smiled.
“Since I arranged this trap, I also ensured she wouldn’t be able to return in time. Don’t ask about the details. Just tell me how you’re going to thank me.”
That was true. What was done was done. There was no point in asking about the details.
Sabrina had lied to Gordon and said that Nathan had imprisoned her, but now it seemed she had just said so to preserve what was left of her image.
“Alright. How do you want me to thank you?” I asked.
Hector laughed again. He laughed brightly, and the diamond studs on his left ear twinkled, making him appear as a ray of sunshine.
He said, “You can owe me for now. When you’ve owed me enough, you may return the favor
all at once.”
“What if I can’t pay it back when the time comes?”
“If you can’t pay it back…” he suddenly came close to my ear and said in a bewitching tone.
“You can pay me back physically! Besides, I know you and Gordon will break up sooner or
later.”

I jolted in shock.
Could Hector read my mind? I hadn’t told him anything, but he seemed to see through every thought I had.
What did he mean by that?
Was he interested in me?
That was impossible. We’d never interacted much in the past, and I wasn’t his type.
“Hector, how dare you make fun of me!”
I decided he was teasing me, so I immediately pummeled him wildly.
He grabbed the glass from my hand and gulped it down with no regard for the fact that I had just drunk from it. Then he laughed and ran off.
“Taylor, it’s not like there’s no possibility between us, right?”
I didn’t want there to be potential between us.
If I left Gordon one day, I would also leave his circle. I would leave everything connected to
him far behind.
I was filled with contempt, so I ran up to Hector and grabbed his collar. I suddenly had a mischievous thought when I saw a bucket of ice nearby.
I grabbed the ice bucket and poured it down his collar without a second thought.
Hector’s face instantly contorted as he screamed. Then he began shaking uncontrollably, making me burst into wild laughter.
