Chapter 3
Chapter 3
I groggily rubbed my eyes as I tried to shake the remnants of sleep off of me. But before I could even sit up, the door to my room burst open and two guards rushed in. They grabbed me roughly by the arms and pulled me out of bed.
“What is going on? Let go of me!” I demanded, struggling against their grip. “You have no right to handle me like this!”
But they paid no attention to my protests, dragging me out of the room and down the hall. I stumbled along, trying to keep up with their brisk pace, my heart racing with fear and confusion. What could possibly be happening? Why were they treating me like this?
As we emerged into the main room, I saw that the whole pack was gathered there, waiting for me. And there at the front, stood Lucian and Lyra. My heart sank as I saw the smirk on Lyra’s face, and I knew that whatever was about to happen, it wasn’t going to be good.
The guards were rough as they threw me to the ground, But before they could take me any further, Aiden jumped in front of them.
“That’s enough!” Aiden yelled, his voice filled with anger. “You don’t have
to handle her like that!”
But before Aiden could continue, Lucian, the Alpha of our pack, stepped forward, cutting him off with a shout.
“It was my order,” Lucian declared, his voice firm and commanding. “No one is going to go against it.”
Aiden stood his ground, his fists clenched at his sides as he faced off against the Alpha. I could see the frustration and anger in his eyes, but he knew better than to argue with Lucian
I lay on the ground, staring up at Lucian, my head swimming with confusion. What was happening? Why was I being treated like a criminal?
I mustered up the courage to ask Lucian, my voice trembling slightly. “What’s going on? Why am I here?”

Lucian’s gaze was stern as he looked down at me. “Why did you lie about your pregnancy?” he asked, cutting me off before I could say anything
more.
Lucian’s expression grew even more serious. “And why did you poison. Lyra’s cup?”
I lay on the ground, completely bewildered by the accusations being thrown at me. Poisoning Lyra’s cup? Lying about my pregnancy? I had no idea what Lucian was talking about.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, struggling to sit up. “I didn’t do any of those things.”
Lucian’s expression was unyielding as he stared down at me. “Don’t play dumb, Nadia. We have evidence.”
Just as I was about to protest my innocence again, the door to the room burst open and my doctor stepped in. He approached Lucian, his expression serious.
“I have to correct something,” he said, looking at me with an apologetic expression. “Your Luna came to me and asked me to give her fake pregnancy results.”
I was shocked, unable to believe what I was hearing. Why was my own doctor lying about me? I looked back and forth between him and Lucian, feeling like my world was crashing down around me.
“That’s not true,” I stammered, trying to make sense of what was happening. “Why would you say that?”
The doctor’s expression was regretful, but he didn’t back down from his story. “I’m sorry, Nadia, but it’s the truth. You asked me for fake results.”
I couldn’t believe what was happening. I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare, unable to escape the web of lies and deceit that had been spun around me.
I looked up at Lucian, pleading for him to see that I was innocent, but his expression was inscrutable. I was left feeling hopeless and alone.

I watched in horror as Nadja, a maid, stepped forward and presented at handkerchief to Lucian.
“It’s Nadia’s,” Nadja explained, “She forgot it when she poisoned Lyra’s cup. I saw her with my eyes.”
I felt like the wind had been knocked out of me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Nadja was lying, but why?
I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. “Lucian, I swear to you, I did not poison Lyra’s cup. I would never hurt that child, or anyone for that
matter.”
But before I could say anything more, Lyra stepped forward, tears.
streaming down her face. “You’re a liar, Nadia! You’ve always been jealous. since I got pregnant. You want to hurt my child because you’re jealous that I’m going to give Lucian an heir.”
I couldn’t take it anymore. The injustice of the situation, the lies, the accusations, they all came crashing down on me. Before I even realized what I was doing, I had rushed forward and grabbed Lyra by the hair, pulling her close.
“You’re the liar!” I yelled. “You’ve always been jealous of me, of my position. as Luna. You’re trying to turn Lucian against me because you’re afraid I’ll take what you think is rightfully yours!”
Lucian was quick to step in, pulling me away from Lyra and holding met
back.
Lyra clutched her stomach, wailing dramatically. “Oh, it hurts! My baby What have you done, Nadia?”
Everyone turned to look at me, their expressions filled with horror and accusation. It was as if they could see the guilt written all over my face.
“She’s grabbing me!” Lyra cried out, pointing a shaking finger in my direction. “Even though I’m carrying Lucian’s heir, she still tried to hurt me and our baby!”
I felt like the walls were closing in around me. I turned to look at Aiden,

hoping to find some support, but his expression was filled with disappointment.
“Nadia, I don’t recognize you anymore,” he said, shaking his head. “What have you become?”
I felt a wave of despair wash over me. Was everyone truly convinced that I was capable of hurting a child? Could no one see the truth, that I was innocent?
“Please, Lucian, you have to believe me,” I implored, desperation in my voice. “I did not do this. I would never hurt anyone, especially not a child.”
But my words fell on deaf ears as everyone continued to look at me with. suspicion and fear.
Lucian cradled Lyra in his arms, soothing her as she continued to wail about her supposed stomach pain. I stood there, feeling hurt and alone, as I watched the scene unfold.
Lyra turned and looked up at me, a sly smile spreading across her face. “Prove to us that you didn’t poison my cup, Nadia. Drink from the cup.”
I shook my head. “I won’t. I don’t trust you, and I won’t put my health and my child at risk just to prove my innocence.”
Lucian turned to me, a hard look in his eyes. “What are you hiding, Nadia? Why won’t you drink from the cup if you’re innocent?”
Aiden stepped forward, his hand on my arm. “Nadia, I’ll believe you if you drink from the cup,” he said softly.
I hesitated, looking down at my belly. “I can’t,” I said, my voice shaking. “My baby…”
But before I could finish, Lucian cut me off, his voice raised in anger. “Stop mentioning a baby! You’re a liar, Nadia. You’re not pregnant.”
Tears streamed down my face as I turned to Lucian. “I thought you loved me,” I whispered. “But it seems like you’re too blinded by Lyra to see things the way they are.”

Lucian’s expression softened for a moment, and I thought he was finally starting to see the truth. But then his face hardened once again, and he stepped away from me.
I picked up the cup, my hand shaking slightly as I looked at Lyra. The wicked smirk on her face filled me with dread, but I knew I had to prove my innocence. I took a deep breath and drank from the cup, the contents bitter and sickly sweet on my tongue.
The room started spinning, and I heard Aiden’s voice calling my name. But his words grew fainter and fainter until they were no longer audible. I felt my eyes close, and the next thing I knew, the sun was beating down on
me.
