The rebirth of a new Luna by Alexia Morgan

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

I stood at the window, my eyes fixed on the scene below. They were all gathered, my pack, celebrating the news of Lyra’s pregnancy. My best friend, carrying the child of my Alpha mate.

I felt the anger boil inside me, a mix of betrayal and hurt. How could he do this to me? To us? I was their Luna, the leader of the pack, but at that moment I felt like I was losing control of everything.

Suddenly, the door creaked open and my brother, Aiden, the beta of the pack, walked in. He approached me, a look of concern on his face. “Nadia, come on. You should come celebrate with us. Lyra is carrying our future.

heir.”

I turned to him, my voice trembling with anger. “How can you ask me to celebrate this? How can you be okay with what they did?”

He placed a hand on my shoulder, his voice firm but gentle. “It’s done, Nadia. You’re still our Luna, and it’s time to move on. The pack needs you. to lead them, to show them strength and unity.”

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. He was right, I was still the Luna of the pack, and I couldn’t let my personal feelings get in the way of my duty. I straightened my posture and nodded.

I followed him downstairs, trying to push away the pain and focus on the task ahead. The pack was counting on me, and I couldn’t let them down. I was their Luna, and I was determined to lead them with honor and

strength.

I made my way down the stairs, Aiden by my side, holding my hand for support. I could hear the noise of the celebration, the sounds of laughter and joy, but all I felt was a heavy heart. I took a deep breath and put on a forced smile, steeling myself for what was to come.

As I entered the room, I was greeted with cheers and applause. My pack was happy to see me, and I felt a small glimmer of warmth in my chest. My brother led me over to Lucian, the Alpha of our pack, and I congratulated him on the news of the upcoming heir. He smiled at me, a

look of relief on his face.

Next, I approached Lyra, my best friend who had betrayed me. I took a deep breath and forced a smile, congratulating her on the news of her

pregnancy.

I carried out the rest of my duties, going from person to person, congratulating them and offering my blessings. I did it all with a heavy heart, but I knew it was my duty as the Luna of the pack. I couldn’t let personal feelings get in the way of what was best for the pack.

It had only been two weeks since the celebration of Lyra’s pregnancy, but it felt like an eternity. I had been feeling down, my thoughts consumed by the events of the past few weeks. But then, I made the decision to go to the doctor for a check-up, just to make sure everything was okay.

I sat in the doctor’s office, my heart racing with nerves. The doctor walked in with a smile on his face, and I knew right away that something was different.

“Nadia, I have some news for you,” he said, a hint of excitement in his voice. “You’re pregnant.”

I was taken aback, my mind racing. “That’s impossible,” I stammered. “Lucian and I haven’t been intimate since Lyra’s pregnancy was. announced.”

The doctor looked at me with a kind expression. “According to the test. results, you’re already eighteen days along.”

I was filled with confusion, trying to piece together what could have happened. And then, a memory from a few nights ago came back to me. Lucian and I had shared a passionate night together, three weeks back.

“It must have happened then,” I said, a smile spreading across my face.

The doctor nodded, a look of happiness on his face. “It looks like it. Congratulations, Luna. You’re going to be a mother.”

1 left the doctor’s room, my mind buzzing with excitement. I couldn’t believe it.

I couldn’t contain my excitement as I rushed to find Lucian. I burst into his room, unable to keep the smile off my face.

“Lucian, I have amazing news!” I exclaimed. “I’m pregnant!”

Lucian’s eyes grew wide with surprise and joy. He stood up from his desk, walking towards me with open arms. “Wow.”

Just as we were lost in our celebration, Lyra walked in. I could see the jealousy written all over her face, even as she forced a smile.

“Congrats, Nadia,” she said through gritted teeth. “I’m so happy for you.”

But her words rang hollow, and I could sense the anger simmering just below the surface. She was clearly upset, and I knew why.

“Thank you, Lyra,” I said, trying to keep my own emotions in check.

She looked at me, a hint of suspicion in her eyes. “But how is that possible? I thought Lucian and you haven’t been intimate since my pregnancy was announced?”

Lyra’s question took me aback. I couldn’t believe she would question the intimacy between Lucian and I, especially since it was none of her business. But before I could even respond, Lucian stepped in.

“Lyra, that is not your place to ask, Lucian said firmly. “Nadia is still Luna, and our marital affairs are private. You have no right to question

them.”

I could see the anger boiling in Lyra’s eyes, and I knew that this wasn’t going to end well.

Lyra’s expression darkened, and I could see the jealousy written all over her face. But she quickly masked it, “I’m sorry,” she said, putting on a fake

smile.

“Well, congratulations again,” she continued, before quickly turning and leaving the room.

I let out a deep sigh, my hand protectively resting on my belly. I knew that Lyra’s jealousy was going to make things difficult.

Lyra tried to hide her discomfort, but I could tell that my pregnancy wast affecting her deeply. What I didn’t understand was why it was affecting her so deeply if she was also pregnant.

Was it simply jealousy, or was there something deeper going on?
