The Marriage That Never Was (Leonard and Lisa )

Chapter 75

Chapter 75

Sometimes, Lisa would play games when she was stressed out. However, her in-game level was pretty low. She glanced at Leonard, thinking, ‘I knew it! He’s a typical wealthy man who spends money like it’s nothing!’

Lisa remembered something and smirked.

“What’s with that weird smile?” Leonard shifted his gaze.

After opening the lid of her porridge, she opened the same game on her phone and handed it over. “That’s my account. I’ve been playing for a year and a half without spending a dime. It’s great because it shows I successfully didn’t let a capitalist like you profit one bit from me.”

Leonard was utterly speechless. He suddenly chuckled as he swept his gaze over Lisa’s fox-like expression. “I’m starting to realize what a good wife you

are.”

Lisa, who had just sipped her porridge, choked on it.

“Cough, cough.” Her face reddened from coughing so much.

“Isn’t it true?” Leonard chuckled lightly. “Most women from prominent families are extravagant spenders. My sister-in-law spends tens of thousands every month. Just look at you-so frugal and good at managing money.

“I bet you can save me billions. How many women can bring such enormous profits to their husbands in a lifetime?”

Lisa raised an eyebrow. “You’re overthinking it. If we don’t get divorced, I’d be a big spender. Don’t expect me to save you billions. I’d probably spend hundreds of thousands of your money too.” sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FindNʘᴠᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

She was joking, of course.

‘I used to refrain from spending because I didn’t have much in the first place. Who likes being frugal?’

“Do you honestly want to divorce me so badly?” Leonard’s gaze turned cold, and his tone became slightly chilly.

“Isn’t that what you wanted too?” Lisa was puzzled. He was just as eager as her to get a divorce.

Leonard fell into a daze. He wanted a divorce before but no longer felt as strongly about it. Perhaps he no longer disliked Lisa as much. Although Lisa loved money a bit too much, she was not a petty thief.

Despite her young age, she remained calm and clear-headed when her mother collapsed. Today’s incident was impulsive, but it showed how kind she was.

Meanwhile, Leonard did not have any women he liked either. In any case, marriage was not all that great, and getting a divorce meant having to find someone else again. Even though Lisa’s maternal family experienced a decline in fortune, the Stark family was quite renowned.

Still, Leonard did not expect to find a wife who could potentially join forces with him to advance his career.

“Besides, what will happen to you and Stephanie if we don’t get divorced?” Lisa continued, “You two are so affectionate. I can’t break up such a loving pair.”

‘What?! A loving pair? Me and Steph?’

Leonard looked at Lisa conflictingly. “Stephanie and I broke up long ago.

Lisa was stunned and became curious about the gossip. “Did you have a falling out?”

“We never had any conflicts. I ended things with Steph after marrying you,” Leonard said coldly, “Even if our marriage lacks affection, I can’t be married and date someone else simultaneously.”

Lisa listened with a puzzled expression. “Ha, I’d believe you if I hadn’t seen you two being so affectionate during the meal.”

“When did we show affection over a meal?”

“That day at Villagio Center. You were sitting so close to each other. She kept peeling shrimp for you, and you ate them all. ” Lisa did not mind jogging his memory. “Don’t tell me that’s just a regular meal between a man and a woman.”

Leonard frowned and seriously tried to recall what had happened. After all, he had focused all his attention on Lisa that day, so he did not think much of Stephanie’s gestures.
