Chapter 76
Sure enough, the next second, someone stood up unhappily on Brandon’s side. He tilted his eyes and sneered in a loud. voice, “Wow! Where did this girl come from? She does look pretty, but unfortunately, she doesn’t speak our language. And who gave you the audacity to come here and brag? Do you even know who we are?”
As soon as he finished his words, someone beside him burst into laughter.
“Lucas, I knew that you liked her beautiful face and nice figure. But it’s true. If she warmed your bed in the quilt, she would really screw you dry!”
“Haha!” Brandon and the other one who didn’t speak couldn’t help laughing.
When they were at Druobridge, they were used to being arrogant like this. Besides, Aurelia was just another woman, made them even more unscrupulous.
They were not completely brainless. They knew who they could offend and who they couldn’t afford to mess with.
which
The reason they dared to be so arrogant was that they had already memorized in their minds all the people who couldn’t be provoked in Tospait.
They didn’t find anyone who bore the surname Swanson. Hence, they assumed it was just a slightly famous family in Nuthana.
She was apparently in no way comparable to them who had a prominent background. They thought it would be easy for them to overpower her.
Charles‘ and Dylan’s faces darkened in an instant.
Although Andrew’s expression remained unchanged, the seriousness and coldness in his eyes were apparent.
Obviously, they were really angry at their words of flirting with Aurelia.
“Mr. Hughes. Mr. Lewis, Mr. Yeager, please show some respect. Ms. Swanson is a friend of Mr. Miller!”
Dylan stepped forward immediately with a stern expression on his face. They had crossed a line with their remarks. If Dylan didn’t step up to defend Aurelia’s dignity, it would bring disgrace to Jacob.
He wouldn’t have the face to report to Jacob when the latter came later.
“Mr. Miller? Are you saying. Jacob Miller?” The young man who had spoken first, nicknamed “Lucas,” didn’t take Dylan’s words seriously. He responded casually as if it was all just a joke.
Before Dylan could reply, he sneered again. “If Jacob were here, we would show him respect, but this woman? You must understand that she barged into our territory uninvited! What’s this? Regency can’t even ensure the privacy and safety of its customers? Any random nobody can now simply walk into someone else’s private room?”
“Damn it, this is pure slander!” Dylan cursed in his mind.
Dylan’s anger boiled over. This guy was essentially insinuating that he was just some random nobody.
“He is too full of himself. Can he be any more arrogant? Does he even know which territory he is in now? Besides, if it weren’t for you spoiled brats going and provoking Ms. Swanson’s subordinates, she wouldn’t have come here herself. How shameless are you to attribute our visit as an intrusion to a private party? Do we even intrude on a private party? It’s you who are the troublemakers, breaking into the Regency without any respect!” he thought.
Since the scions decided to act like gangsters and blow hot and cold, they shouldn’t blame him for not giving them any respect!
After making up his mind, Dylan also sneered. “If Mr. Hughes really says so, then I have no choice but to ask you to move to another place. I only have limited power in Regency. This is all I can do.”
“How dare yon! Who are you? How dare you talk to me like that? You are just an endorser. Even if Jacob sees us, he has to show some respect. Get the hell out of here, or I’ll teach you a lesson right away!”
Hector’s anger flared up, and he felt a growing sense of unease with Nuthana.
He thought, “What the hell is that place? Yet, people say that this is a wonderful place in the South!”
The occupants there were supposed to be decent, but the people here only seemed ignorant and arrogant.
Even a small fund manager dared to embarrass Brandon and him. He could forgive Charles as he was only an outsider who didn’t know much about the politics of Tospait.
However, Dylan was just an endorser of the sons of some deputy speaker. How dare he speak to him like that? He wondered where Dylan had gotten his courage from.
“Does he know who we are? Does he really think we are like the useless idiots in Nuthana’s scion?” Hector thought
Hector’s outburst made Raymond and Samuel on the other side gloomy as well.

However, they were wise enough to keep their opinions to themselves. They understood that with their current status, it would be unwise to provoke Jacob and risk facing the consequences.
Although Jacob’s father was just a state governor, Nuthana was one of the leading counties in Tospait in terms of population and economy.
Damian himself had a high reputation and ability. Besides, Franklin Yeager had personally spoken for Damian.
Hence, Jacob held a place in the scion circle in Druobridge.
The heads of their families were now gone. The remaining elders lacked the influence and prospects that Damian had. They were aware that their own political careers were limited in comparison.
Therefore, Brandon was the only one who still held some sway over Jacob and could command a certain level of respect. After all, Brandon was also a member of the Yeager family.
Jacob understood the importance of maintaining a good relationship with the Yeager family. His father had relied on their support in the past, and he knew that he couldn’t afford to offend Brandon.
Thinking of this, Raymond and Samuel naturally set a trap for Brandon to jump in.
*Brandon, tut–tut. Look! Nuthana is indeed full of hidden talents. How dare a spokesperson of a petty club pull a long face at
us?”
“Indeed. Brandon, those who know you would say that you have a good temper, but those who don’t know you may think of
us as cowards.”
“Besides, we have never been looked down upon when we were in the big cities. Brandon, kindly inform us whether you intend to make your position known. If you find it inconvenient to intervene, I will willingly step up and handle them for
you.
Brandon’s expression turned uglier after listening to their words.
Initially, he selected Nuthana due to the Miller family’s influence in the area and his connections with Jacob and Hayden, the successor of the Yeager family, who also happened to be his cousin.
He thought that if they came to Nuthana, Jacob would not give him a hard time and would likely take care of him to some extent, considering his relationship with Hayden and the Yeager family.
He managed to convince his friends to visit Nuthana together. Of course, he exaggerated in front of them that he had a close relationship with Jacob.
Unexpectedly, his dignity was trampled on in Nuthana.
Now that he was being publicly disparaged, Brandon felt compelled to intervene, even though he knew it could be a trap. He had talked big in front of his friends before, and he couldn’t back down now.
Immediately, he stood up with a livid face. However, instead of directing his anger toward Dylan, the spokesman of Nuthana scions with Jacob as his patron, he directed it directly at Aurelia.
“Ms. Swanson, you must be quite important if you’ve managed to secure the person–in–charge of Regency as your advocate. Today’s incident could have been resolved amicably, but your subordinate displayed extreme rudeness and showed no respect toward us. This has left us deeply displeased. Initially, we were willing to overlook the matter for Mr. Miller’s sake. but your current attitude suggests that you are not interested in resolving it in a peaceful manner.”
Brandon paused briefly before redirecting the conversation. “Well, let’s not say that I’m not considerate. How about this? Ms. Swanson, come over here and let’s raise three glasses of wine as a toast. We can then put this incident behind us and let bygones be bygones. You can also take your associates and leave.”
After saying that, Brandon sat back calmly and arrogantly. Hector, who had spoken out initially, was taken aback and rendered speechless. Raymond and Samuel, who had believed they had successfully laid a trap for Brandon, were equally taken aback and caught off guard by his unexpected response.
Brandon had grown a lot these days. He was about to jump into the trap, but he turned around last minute and dodged the bullet.
It seemed that he didn’t get over himself and thought that he could fight head–on with Jacob of the Miller family.
They all felt a little sorry for being unable to see Brandon lash out.
They might all be playboys, but none of them were really stupid when it came to serious matters.
The Aurelia of the past might have succumbed to the pressure of Brandon’s background and toasted him. Anyway, it was not something she should be ashamed of.
On the contrary, it was actually an honor to have the children of officials to concede to her.
However, things had changed.
Aurelia didn’t represent herself anymore. Her actions also reflected Jacob’s reputation.
