Chapter 155 Childish
Chapter 155 Childish
Her heart raced.
Brendon gently released her hand, grabbed the bathrobe, and quickly opened the door. He lowered his head, moving closer to her.
"Could you take a look? My back is a bit itchy," he said.
Startled by his approach, Ranita took two steps back. It took her a while to find her voice, and she said, "Lower down. I can't see.”
Brendon bent forward slightly until finally revealing what lay beneath within sight range.
The bathrobe was tightly wrapped, making it impossible to see anything. Ranita had no choice but to reach out and adjust it. It seemed that Brendon had scratched himself a few times, leaving a few noticeable nail marks on his back, with some red dots in the middle. “It's so itchy!" Brendon extended his hand, ready to scratch again. "Don't scratch!" Ranita stopped his fingers and said anxiously, "If you scratch it, it'll only make it worse."
Brendon, with his fingers held by her, turned his head to look at her. Ranita's eyelashes drooped, quiet and beautiful. Brendon had a thought and smirked, “Can you scratch it lightly for me? It's really itchy.” “I brought some ointment. I'll put some on for you." Ranita had a small first aid kit in her luggage with itch-relieving ointment.
Brendon obediently lay on the couch, revealing his back. "Hurry up.” She raised an eyebrow.
There was a hint of mischievousness in his expression.
Ranita's heart melted into a puddle at his teasing.
"Don't move, I'll put some ointment on for you." She squeezed out some onto a cotton swab but as soon as she poked him with it, Brendon sat up straight and stared at her with raised eyebrows. "The cotton swab is too thick; it hurts my skin."
"Use your hand!"
Ranita gritted her teeth and teased him back, "Such a delicate flower!" Brendon wasn't ashamed; instead he pressed down on his eyebrows and smiled back at her. He said, "Ranita, are you just realizing this now?"
Chewing on the teasing and joking words made Ranita feel complicated emotions.
Brendon might appear cool and sophisticated on the outside, but he was still human, and like anyone else, he had some peculiar quirks. For instance, when he got bitten by mosquitoes or other small insects, his skin turned red, even more tender than a girl's.
When Ranita first married him, there was one night she forgot to close the windows, and the next day, Brendon's neck and arms were all covered in red patches. If it weren't for the individual bite marks that were quite evident, she might have been accused of doing something to him.
"Why are you spacing out again?" Brendon's voice pulled Ranita out of her memories. She gently applied some ointment onto Brendon while whispering softly, “It must be from those bugs we encountered when we were hiking earlier today that bit you. Is it still itching?"
"Itching..." He paused then propped himself up using his chin to look at her, "These bugs are pretty fierce; too much itching... can you scratch me please?"
"You're itching so much, and still scratching? If I scratch it, it'll be even more uncomfortable,” Ranita scolded him and patted his back. Another patch of red appeared.
“You really hit me?" Brendon blinked slightly and looked a bit aggrieved.
"Who asked you to talk nonsense!" Ranita turned to get the ointment, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw Brendon reaching out. She immediately glared at him.
Raising his hands, Brendon said, "I didn't move."
Ranita washed her hands then sat beside him asking softly, "Is it really still itching badly?"
"Very badly! Can you blow air onto them?"
Blow air?! Ranita raised an eyebrow.
His back was tall and broad, with a thin layer of muscles beneath the skin, featuring smooth and incredibly explosive lines.
"Still itchy?" Ranita playfully poked at the small red marks. "You're such a child.”
Maybe it was her comment that provoked him, but Brendon suddenly flipped over and reached out to pull Ranita onto the sofa.
He pressed her down, and her bathrobe fell open, revealing her collarbone.
The look in his eyes was particularly wild.
