Chapter 55
Chapter 55
Hymes‘ touch was hotter than Giselle had imagined, almost scorching.
Giselle could hardly breathe.
Luckily, he moved his fingers away the next second.
“What did you just wipe away?”
“Probably some foam from when you were rinsing your mouth earlier.”
“Oh… Giselle pursed her lips awkwardly, blushing as she turned away. “Let’s eat breakfast!”
After breakfast, Hymes changed into clean clothes.
Giselle had never seen anyone who looked better in a white shirt than him. The bulging muscles on his chest and arms provided enough support for the fabric, and his entire physique was flawless.
Giselle silently measured his waist with her eyes and realized that despite his broad shoulders, his waist was slim. Hymes had a perfect body proportion.
Giselle had really struck gold by managing to find such a man through a casual blind date!
With his looks, she wondered how many women at his workplace were interested in him.
Thinking about this, Giselle asked, “Why didn’t you get married earlier?”
Hearing Giselle’s question as he was closing the door, Hymes hesitated for a moment. “I never really thought about getting married before.”
“Why not?”
“I was busy with work, and… I hadn’t met anyone I wanted to marry.”
Giselle’s heart inexplicably tightened at his words, and she shyly asked, “So, am I the person you want to marry?”
Hymes gazed at her with a hint of a smile. “If you weren’t, why would I marry you?”
Giselle struggled to suppress the grin on her lips.
“You must have been chased by many girls, right?”
Hymes seriously considered the question.
“It has been alright.”
“Alright? You must be lying. How could there be no girls chasing after you?”
A man like him, regardless of his occupation or status, would always stand out in a crowd.
“It really has been alright, Hymes recalled that aside from some bold foreign women who had approached him when he was studying abroad, not many women had actually pursued him.
There were, of course. Those who approached him with ulterior motives, but that didn’t count as a pursuit in Hymes‘ eyes.
It was merely interested in the benefits he could provide.
Giselle was muttering to herself, feeling that Hymes‘ answer was unreliable.

Hymes then asked, “What about you? There must be many men chasing after you.”
Giselle fell silent, unsure how to respond.
If she mentioned that she’d been pursued by boys since she was young, would Hymes be upset?
Although it seemed like their relationship wouldn’t be affected by such trivial matters, Giselle knew that men tended to have a strong possessive streak.
It was not related to love but merely a natural male characteristic.
Seeing her hesitate, Hymes‘ gaze deepened. “You don’t dare to answer?”
“There’s nothing I’m afraid to answer. It’s just that, if I tell you, you can’t get mad.“,
Hymes looked at her with mysterious eyes. “Alright, I won’t get mad.”
Giselle cleared her throat and cautiously said, “I don’t know exactly how many guys have pursued me, but especially during school… there were quite a few.”
Giselle had deliberately toned down her language not to exaggerate too much.
But in reality, when she was in school, just stepping out of the classroom for a trip to the restroom would have a group of boys gathered in the hallway, whistling at her.
Almost every morning when she arrived at school, she would find various items in her desk drawer, such as breakfast, love letters, and gifts for her.
Giselle’s beautiful appearance brought her some trouble, but she always acted aloof and unapproachable, so many boys would eventually lose interest and move on to other targets.
Hymes squinted. “Mickey pursued you back then?”
“Um… he did in college, but I didn’t accept him then. We got together after graduation.”
“I see.”
For some reason, even though Hymes‘ tone was flat, Giselle felt uneasy..
She instinctively knew that discussing exes with a man was a big mistake.
So she quickly changed the subject. “Let’s go out to dinner tonight. I want to have a barbecue.”
“Can you?”
Hymes nodded. “Sure.”
“I’ll make a reservation! Where should we meet after work?”
“I’ll pick you up.”
“Is that convenient?”
Hymes smiled. “I’ve already taken care of the car–related paperwork.”
“Great!” Giselle’s eyes curved like crescent moons.
Hymes wanted to lean in for a kiss, but now wasn’t the right time, so he restrained himself and looked away.
When Giselle arrived at the office, she was still smiling. Her relaxed mood contrasted sharply with the gloomy atmosphere
in the office.
Chapter 55
Ever since the platform stopped working with Jenny, her previous arrogance had disappeared.
Jenny’s eyes were filled with hatred, but she couldn’t be as arrogant as before.
After all, no one could clarify the relationship between Giselle and the platform, so Jenny had to temporarily endure her jealousy.
Giselle, on the other hand, seemed to be thriving, and everyone could feel that her days were getting better and better.
Ironically, Jenny, who had the upper hand, was unhappy. No one could have anticipated this contrast.
As Giselle was busy, a sound of high–heeled footsteps came from the office, accompanied by an air of arrogance. “Can your company handle it? Quite a few companies want to sign contracts with me.”
“Ms. Lawson, rest assured, our company is professional. We’ll achieve the best results once we work together! And we can start with a short–term contract. If that goes well, we can turn it into a long–term one…”
One of the speakers was an employee from the agency department, and the other voice was all too familiar.
Giselle looked up from her remote location and saw the figure she had just met the night before.
Nora, carrying an expensive purse, listened to the introduction and then said, “I need to meet Mickey Blake first.”
“You know Mr. Blake?”
“Of course, classmates meeting and catching up. Oh, and… Giselle Ostry, she’s also in your company.”
Surprised that the Internet celebrity they were discussing a contract with knew them, the employee immediately called out, “Giselle, your classmate is here.”
When Nora saw Giselle, her expression was complicated, but she didn’t make any sarcastic remarks like the day before. She just gave a half–hearted greeting. “What a coincidence.”
“You’re signing with our company?”
Nora was uncharacteristically calm. “I haven’t decided yet. Just discussing cooperation. As for whether I’ll sign the contract, it depends on how our collaboration goes.”
Nora had become quite an Internet celebrity, with a large fan base that allowed her to venture into new areas. So, it was not surprising that she was collaborating with Domino Media.
However, this wasn’t Giselle’s business, and she did not want to interfere.
Jenny, sitting nearby, felt a bit threatened when she saw Nora making an appearance.
