Chapter 56
Mr. Wright was beyond crazy because his only child was no where to be found, and so was her fiancé. Where in the world could they be? He wondered, as the cops had searched every hotel, resort, motel, anywhere they could, in the whole of California, but still, there was no trace of Kimberly and lan.
They have contacted the naval headquarters to inform them of the current situation and to their surprise, they were told that there were reports of two similar cases two weeks ago and since then they have sent out a search team to look for them.
Mr. Wright didn't want to believe Mr. Gareth’s words when he told him that lan and Kimberly went camping in the woods. But, with everything happening at the moment, he had no other choice but to go into the woods, since that was their last resort. He prays they find them there, alive and safe. #
Roy couldn't concentrate on the fight. His thoughts were only of Kimberly, as he was worried that Hugh must've done something to her when he realizes she has already been marked. He shouldn't be this worried, but knowing how callous Hugh behaves, he couldn't help but wonder if he would be stupid enough to also mark her as his. He should know better than to do that, because, taking such an action would only end up destroying Kimberly.
Though such a thing has never happened in the history of werewolves, they were told before hand that if a female werewolf gets marked by two male werewolves, she would literally go insane for a couple of days, from being in love with two werewolves, and eventually die.
Roy shuddered at the thought of losing Kimberly. He would rather die than lose his mate. He only prays that Hugh doesn’t do something stupid, out of spite, for the first time in his life. He tries to keep his concentration back in the war, so he doesn't get attacked from behind. He needs to be in shape, as his main target was none other than, Hugh.
As if on cue, Hugh appeared along with his beta, whom Roy had promised to tear to shreds the next time they meet. Hugh was glaring at him and he was glaring back. If looks could kill, they both probably would be six feet under by now. Roy was already shaking with rage. This was the person that invaded his pack and killed his pack members. He so badly wants to rip out Hugh's heart. Taking long strides towards them, ready for the kill, he noticed Donald whisper something in Hugh's ear, earning a nod from him, and the next thing, he lunged towards Roy. This wasn't the right time, neither was he the person that Roy wanted to face, but since he was so eager to please his coward of an alpha, then Roy can as well use this as an opportunity to take out his revenge.
Without bothering to shift into his wolf form, Roy slammed the large werewolf to the ground, breaking its legs before ripping out its throat.
“That was easy” he murmured to himself, turning back to Hugh, who was now in a half shift, fuming with rage.
A smirk appeared on Roy's face because that was the reaction he wanted to get out of Hugh. He has waited for this moment for too long. Hugh charged at Roy, who immediately followed his action, both shifting mid air before colliding head on.

Kimberly couldn't take her mind off what happened between her and Hugh a while ago. She still couldn't understand why she had reacted the way she did. She was supposed to despise him and push him away, but she did none of that.
Although, she was scared of him from the moment she saw him, that changed as soon as his lips came in contact with her skin. She felt too weak to her toes, wanting more of him. Gosh, his lips were magical, she thought to herself as her fingers found its way to her lips, remembering how his lips moved perfectly on hers, as she never wanted the moment to end.
Kimberly's thoughts was suddenly interrupted by the door bursting open, revealing a frantic looking Alan.
“Alan?!” she exclaimed, surprised to see him.
“Thank goodness you're okay" he sighed
How was he able to get in here, when Hugh assigned four guards at the door, Kimberly wondered. “Those amateur werewolves were no match for me” Alan suddenly said, like he could read her thoughts.
“Let's get out of here” he continued, already guiding her out of the room before she could say anything.
As they ran through the hallway of the pack house, screams and growls could be heard outside, causing Kimberly to have a cold feet. She suddenly stopped in her tracks, wondering if leaving this place was a good idea.
What if her escape causes more death? What if Roy doesn't survive and Hugh gets mad at her for not staying in his room, where he had asked her to be? She doesn't want this violence. Why was she in the middle of all this? She kept repeating those questions in her head as tears streamed down her eyes.
Alan noticed the sudden change and reluctance in Kimberly's demeanor. He could tell she was conflicted at the moment, but honestly, this wasn't the right time for that. If they want to remain alive, they need to get out of this pack house.
“Kimberly, please. We don't have much time. Roy asked me to get you safely out of here”
At the mention of her mate's name, she realized how stupid she was for having double thoughts about leaving this place, after all Roy had done for her.
“I'm sorry” she apologized
“It's okay. Let's go”
They successfully made it out of the pack house and that was when Kimberly realized how serious the war was. There were dead werewolves everywhere. Injured ones groaning in pain. Women screaming, children crying, doctors trying to attend to the wounded werewolves, at the same time trying to get the women and children to safety, as the fight went on.
“This has to stop’ she concluded within herself, removing her hand from Alan's grip.
"Kimberly, what are you doing?” Alan worriedly asked, taking caution of their surrounding, so they don't get attacked unexpectedly.
“I need to speak to Hugh and Roy. This has to stop” she replied in a cracked voice.
All this bloodshed was too much for her to watch.
“Look at me” Alan commanded, with both hands on Kimberly's cheeks, to get her to look at him. “None of this is your fault. Hugh crossed the line and has to pay the consequences, that's how things are done here” he assured her, hoping that would make her feel better, but it didn't work. He couldn't help but feel pity for her. She looked so lost and scared as her eyes frantically gazed at her surrounding.
Alan was about to urge her to follow him, when he noticed her staring wide eye at something from a distance. He followed her eyes and saw two large werewolves tearing each other. He instantly recognized the black wolf as Roy and the brown one, Hugh. They were both severely injured, but neither of them was willing to give up.
Roy's back was now against the ground. Hugh wasted no time in biting his leg, sinking his canines deeper, like he wants to tear off Roy's skin.
That wasn't a good sign, Alan thought to himself. Letting go of Kimberly, he was about hurrying off towards their direction when a small hand stopped him. It was Kimberly's.
“I wanna come with you” she said, more like pleaded as tears freely rolled down her cheeks.
“It's too dangerous” was Alan's reply before shifting into his wolf and running towards the two alphas.
