Chapter 55
Roy made a call to their pack doctor and asked him to come over to his place to check on Elijah. In less than an hour, the doctor was at Roy's house with the necessary equipment needed to perform his work.
After he was done checking on Elijah, he confirmed that there were no internal injuries, even though he was badly beaten by the alpha.
Roy swore to himself that he was going to make Hugh pay for all the hurt and pain he had caused his pack, when he comes face to face with him. He couldn't help but feel guilty when he saw Christine's tears. She was trembling with fear when she saw her son's unconscious and completely bruised body. This was all his fault, he shouldn't have left Elijah by himself after being viciously attacked by Hugh's warriors the day before. He should've known Hugh would have something up his sleeves.
Alan could tell, Roy was blaming himself for his cousin's present condition, when in reality that wasn't the case. Elijah was obviously no match for Hugh, but as a beta, it was his duty to protect his Luna. So, rather than chicken out and let Hugh take Kimberly easily, he had to put up a fight, which is what anyone in his place would do.
Alan walked up to his nephew, who was standing by the door of his guest room, where Elijah was currently in, quietly watching as the pack doctor attended to Elijah’s wounds. He gave Roy's shoulder a gentle squeeze to get his attention.
“I want you to know that what happened to Elijah wasn't your fault”
Roy hated the fact that his uncle could read him like an open book. He knew his uncle was only trying to make him feel better. If that were the case, he was so wrong, because everything happening is his fault. He is a weak alpha, too weak to protect his people. He didn’t want to argue with his uncle, so he hesitantly nodded, like he agreed to what his uncle said.
Alan gestured that they head outside. Roy knew it was time they get down to business. He quickly mind-linked the head of his warriors and told him to assemble the warriors, those in training included, because if they want to win this war, they would need a lot of hands.
Eric, the head of the warriors did as he was told and assembled every male werewolf of fighting age, and ordered them to begin vigorous training before he left them and headed to Roy's house , to know what the next step is.

Kimberly's eyelids slowly fluttered open to an unfamiliar room. Roy didn’t change his bedroom interiors from black to brown while she was asleep, or did he? That impossible, because, he was badly wounded and unconscious, so there was no way he could've had the time to plan this Speaking of Roy, did the healing power they claimed she possessed work? She wondered as she stirred on the bed, completely unaware of the fact that she was being watched.
Kimberly touched the other side of the bed and it was empty, indicating that Roy was awake but why were the sheets brown and not black. Something wasn't right.
“You're finally awake.” A deep raspy voice spoke, making Kimberly sit up.
She frantically looked around the room, searching for the source of the voice. As the seconds went by, Kimberly realized that Roy didn't change anything in his bedroom, rather she was in an entirely different place, this frightened her.
"You've been unconscious for two days.” The voice spoke up again, this time revealing its owner as he appeared from the far corner of the room.
Kimberly squinted her eyes to make out who the figure was, but it was impossible as the only lights currently on in the bedroom were the night lamps. As if the stranger could read her thoughts, he switched on the bedroom lights, making Kimberly gasp at the sight before her.
The same caramel eyes, the same dirty blonde hair, the same ruggedly handsome face, the same broad and masculine build, it can't be. This can’t be happening, this was the same man she dreamt about not so long ago
Could this be Hugh, her late mother's mate and her second mate? He looked like a model from a magazine. How was he able to keep himself in shape after all these years? She wondered still staring at the man before her.
“I've waited so long for this day.” Hugh said in a low voice, making Kimberly back away in fear until her back hit the headboard, indicating that she had no where else to go.
She felt her heartbeat quicken as he slowly approached, climbing on the bed and crawling towards her.
“Someone please help me’. She mentally prayed as he pulled her by her legs, so her back was now against the bed.
“I've waited so many years for you to come back to me, Hailey.” Hugh said, straddling her.
“This isn't happening. Please, let this not be what she thinks it is.’ Kimberly thought to herself as she struggled to find the right words to say so she doesn't upset this big guy.
"P-please, let me g-go. I'm not Hailey.” She said in barely a whisper but loud enough for Hugh to hear.
“I don't care.” He replied in that deep raspy voice of his, sending shivers down her spine as he leaned in.
Kimberly quickly placed her hand on his hard rock chest to prevent him from leaning in any further, but this small contact caused sparks all over her body. She jolted her hand away, not understanding what the hell just happened.
“I know you felt it too, princess.” Hugh spoke in a husky whisper, placing both of Kimberly's hands above her head as he began trailing kisses down her neck, causing the butterflies in her stomach to erupt.
His lips suddenly left her neck, causing her to pout without even realizing it.
“Relax, my love. I promise I'll make you feel good.” He whispered, his minty breath fanning her face before slowly connecting their lips.
Kimberly didn't feel the urge to push him away, rather she struggled out of his grip and wrapped her arms around his neck, letting her fingers run through his hair.
This feeling was new and unexplainable to Kimberly. It was completely different from what she felt for Roy and she hated herself for that. She mentally told herself to stop, but her body wasn't responding, as her hands traveled down his back, caressing his firm skin. She thanked her lucky stars he was shirtless, giving her enough access to his hard rock chest and abs.
Kimberly had no idea how long the kiss had lasted but she was certain she didn't want it to stop, as his minty breath mixed with her boring one. This felt perfect, like she had finally found her long lost love, whom she never wants to let go.
Hugh slowly pulled away from the kiss so they could catch their breaths. His hands caressed her sides, moving downwards to her thighs, setting her body on fire. She moaned at his actions, closing her eyes to savor every bit of the moment.
“Mine.” He whispered in her ears, sending shivers all over her body.
How was this man able to make her feel this way in less than an hour of meeting him? She wondered, as Hugh's lips worked wonders on her neck, making her see stars
This is a dream, that is the only was she could describe this intense pleasure she was feeling.
A sudden growl brought her out of her dreamland, making her tensed. The growl came from Hugh. She wondered what she had done wrong, as she no longer felt his lips on her neck.
She glanced at him and noticed him glaring at her neck, his eyes flickering from brown to yellow. Her fingers slowly reached for her neck, wondering what was getting his wolf upset, then she felt Roy's bite marks. In that instant, she cursed herself for betraying Roy this way.
Why did she go through with it? Why wasn't she able to stop him? She mentally questioned herself as she suddenly became conscious of their current position, as Hugh was still between her legs.
“I'll take care of that.” Hugh suddenly said, his eyes now back to its original color, indicating that he had controlled his wolf.
He continued kissing her neck and she swore she was enjoying it, but she can't let this happen again, that would be cheating. She can't cheat on Roy, not with this man who had murdered people. “Please, stop. She mentally begged, not finding the courage in her to say the words.
He repeatedly sucked on the spot where Roy's mark was, causing a low moan to escape her lips. "Hugh, please...” she breathed, hoping that would stop him but it didn't work, rather he muttered “You belong to me and no one else.” As his fangs lightly grazed her neck.
Hugh was about sinking his fangs into her skin when there was a sudden knock on the door. He growled in annoyance and angrily asked
“Who is it?”
“It's me, Alpha. I need to tell you something very important.” His beta replied, his voice a bit muffled.
Hugh got off Kimberly to get the door, making her let out a sigh of relief.
"Alpha, the pack is under attack!” Donald said in an alarmed tone.
The only thing on Kimberly's mind was, Roy was here to save her.
