Madilynne

Chapter Loving arms and Good bye's

Madilynne's P.O.V

I sat at the table silently as Kade and my dad talked about the plan to get me out safely. The anger was slowly building inside, bubbling beneath the surface like a volcano moments away from erupting. I just wanted a normal life, I didn’t ask for any of this. My mom, My best friend, now I was forced to leave my dad behind. Miles was ripping everything from my life. Why couldn’t he just let me go? I don’t understand this! Gods he did enough damage already.

“Madi?” My father spoke softly, Kade watching my every movement.

“I..I just need a moment please.” I whispered, getting up from my seat. Closing the office door behind me, I let out a breath, anger, and sorrow escaping. My back pressing against the wall for support and sliding down the wall I burst into tears.

Warm arms, igniting sparks across my body, wrapping around me. Caving into Kade’s arms, letting the angry tears flow. “I’ve got you love, let it out.” He whispered, his breath fanning my face. I’m So tired of being helpless, out of control, and fucking crying. No. I wouldn’t let Miles win anymore, I’ll fight back. I’m not who I use to be. I’m a fucking Alpha Female for Goddess sake!

My cries finished as realization hit me, I am an Alpha. This is my path, it’s time to start walking it. I may not know a lot about this supernatural world but my instincts were telling me to fight. Fight hard.

“I’m ready now. Let’s do this Kade.” Wiping the stray tears from my face I looked up to Kade. His green eyes peered into mine, Nodding his head he helped me from my place on the floor.

The three of us made our way to the backside of the house, every pack member was already gathered outside. Walking out, my nerves hitting a new high, I gripped Kade’s hand like it was a lifeline. Somewhere in this crowd, the traitor blended in. Seamlessly spying for Miles. Feeling a burst of energy course through Kade and I’s bond, I straightened my shoulders and held eye contact with every Pack member I could see.

“With a heavy heart, I am announcing my daughter, Madilynnes, departure this evening. Our future Alphas life has been threatened and so have ours, In order to protect the mass of the many Madi has decided to seek refuge in our sister pack, Red moon. There she will continue her Alpha training, Until her 25th birthday when she will return to Ascend as Alpha of the Crescent pack.” My dad spoke, emotion laced in his speech. I don’t want to leave either dad. Gasps and whimpers filled the area.

“I will return. This is my path, I will fight. Until my last breath, then my fight will be over. But I will not risk the lives of our youth, The next to lead this pack. If I must leave, then I will.” I spoke, My voice carrying a tone of authority and soothing tones all the same.

The bond I shared with Kade filled with an intense amount of pride. ‘God’s, You’re gonna make one hell of an Alpha Madi.’

I smiled at his recognition, You’re god damn right Kade.

Returning back into the house, Kade pulled me aside. Pushing me against the wall he placed a hungry kiss against my lips as his hands laced around my hips. Just as quickly, releasing his hold on my mouth. ” It all makes sense now, this whole time I was treating you like a Luna. But that’s not what you are. You’re an Alpha, a powerful one. The dominance displays, everything. Goddess Madi I’m sorry for not realizing sooner.” The words were flying out, hell I didn’t even process it until now. It was like a switch flipped inside. I laughed lightly at his proclamation, stealing a kiss from his luscious lips.

A throat cleared from behind us, gaining our attention.

“Ready for the next part?” My dad asked. I nodded, embracing Kade in a tight hug. Inhaling his scent, attempting to engrave it into my soul. “Ready.”

Mya walked into the room, she looked identical to me. It was truly eerie. “Uh, I don’t like this at all. please tell me this is the last time we do this, I prefer you as well, Mya.” I gestured at her appearance.

Mya laughed, “Me either, trust me, It freaked me out when I looked in the mirror.” Both of us burst into a fit of laughter. Her hair hung in locks, black as night trailing to her waist as mine do. Her eyes matching my own hazel eyes, she even had the freckles that dusted across her nose, under the eyes like mine. Hm I wonder..

Looking behind Mya, at her right shoulder my mouth flew open. “How the hell did you mimic that?” I said pointing at the crescent moon that entwined with a mating mark. It looked so much like mine. Holy shit.

“Found a human in the town over, He’s extremely talented, Said it should last about a week. Plenty of time for us to put this plan into motion.”

“Wow” The only word escaping my mouth.

“Are you sure you want to do this, you’ll be risking your life.” I stated, holding eye contact with Mya. Searching for any hesitation.

“I owe you Madi, and anyways Katie would have done the same in a heartbeat I just know it.”

Katie. I couldn’t even bury my friend.

“She’s at rest now, visit her when you return Madi.” Mya’s hand rested on my arm, soothingly.

“Thank you, Mya.” I wrapped her in a hug.

“Alright, let’s do this, now or never.” Mya said walking to Kade’s side. Kade leaned over and placed a kiss on the top of my head “I’ll see you soon, love. Stay safe.”

Watching them walk out the front door was like being in a dream, one of the ones just out of your grasp, one you couldn’t control. Shaking the feeling off, I turned towards my dad. “I’ll miss you too dad, come visit when it’s safe please.” Lunging at his midsection I clutched on tightly not wanting to let go. “I will baby girl. Promise me to stay safe.” His loving arms wrapped around me, a tear finding its way out of my eye.

Kole walked into the room holding a large hoodie, “Put this on, hood up.” He said handing me the piece of clothing. I accepted placing it over my head and throwing the hood over my head to cover my locks. “It’s time, they’ve crossed the border. The woods are clear, go now.” My dad’s voice announced.

Both Kole and I took off in a sprint towards the border in the opposite direction of the Red Moon pack.

Stopping just shy of the edge marking the Crescent pack territory, Kole and I scented the air to make sure no rogues were anywhere near us. Clear.

Stepping across the border, within seconds Kole was thrown to the ground by a black mass.
