Chapter Alpha's Claim
Madilynne's P.O.V
“Alpha? Two Alpha’s in one pack, how the hell is that going to work Kade? No offense Alpha Madilynne.” Aviana’s stance changed to one of concern, arms falling to her sides.
“None taken, I’m still figuring this out myself. But why is it such an issue for two Alphas to run a pack?” I asked both Aviana and Kade.
“Well from what I’ve observed Madi has traits of a strong Alpha but also a compassionate Luna. It took me a while to figure that out, we’ll just have to figure things out as we go. But to answer your question Madi, Alphas are incredibly territorial. Throw in two alphas in their prime to lead a pack usually leads to extreme dominant displays or worst-case scenario, A fight to the death to be the only Alpha.” Kade gestured between the two of us.
“Oh God’s, that’s bad..” Fear struck me at the very thought of harming my mate. I could feel willow surge to the surface at the disturbing thought.
“Shh love, it’ll never come to that. Mates can’t harm each other.” Kades hands gently grabbing mine as I rubbed them down my face. His comforting touch soothing my distress.
“Well, I’d bet my sock money that Alpha Madilynne would hand you your ass on a silver platter Kade.” Aviana shrugged, a light laugh slipping out.
“Just Madi is fine.” I smiled at Aviana. Her eyes lighting up at me giving her permission to call me by my nickname.
“Well, you guys give me a jingle when you decide to give it the ol’ fashioned one-two. Seriously. Bye Madi see you around!” Aviana had her hands balled up and bouncing around on her toes as she spoke moving down the hall I came from originally. “She’s.. interesting.” I smiled at her disappearing figure. “Yeah, definitely.” Kade chuckled out.
“My dad needs to speak with us.” He gestured to the office door sitting open. Nodding I went in.
“Alright, kids. The first thing on the agenda is getting Madi enrolled in school.”
I let out a disheveled groan that probably didn’t sound human at all. God’s how did I forget? It’s senior year. Now I’m the new kid and also a supernatural shifter. What could possibly go wrong? Ugh, this wasn’t going to be easy.
Kade reached out and gave my hand a light squeeze with a smile plastered on his handsome face. “You can do this love, I’ll be right by your side.”
“Thanks, Kade” I smiled at him. God’s he was so darn sweet.
“Next, we work on getting you properly trained to take over as Alpha of the Crescent pack.” Grant said, looking directly at me.
Inhaling a breath I spoke, “When do we start Grant?”
Grants smile widened ” Tomorrow we’ll take you and get you enrolled. The first day is tomorrow so we should be able to get you in fairly quickly. I’ve already spoken with your Dad, The boarding school will be faxing over your transcripts and all your credits first thing in the morning.”
Fantastic. “Okay, when do we start my training?”
“I think we should see how you handle being at school first, you weren’t a shifter before so things might be a little.. overwhelming.” Kade stated.
Kade stood up and held his hand out, waiting for mine. “Come on, I want to show you around.” Reaching for his hand he gently pulled me to my feet.
We walked back through the same hall, and into the entranceway. A grand staircase sat on both sides with a massive chandelier hanging from the center perfectly. “Your home is beautiful Kade.” I said in pure awe.
“Dad had it built for Mom, It was her dream home.” His eyes were distant as he spoke. “Was?” My heart fell at the word. “She passed the same night Anastasia did.” Clearing his throat, I could tell he didn’t want to continue this conversation. My grip tightening around his hands I gave him a weak smile.
Walking up the staircase, my hands wandered aimlessly on the banister. Kade pulled me down another Hall, God’s how many rooms did this place have? “This will be your room, mine is directly across from yours.”
Down another hall, there was a game room, a cinema room, and on the main floor, there was a spa, pool, and a training room. “Now that you’ve seen everything let’s go make you some food love.” Kade said while his hand traveled to the small of my back. I leaned into him as we walked back to the kitchen area.
Sitting down I watched as Kade began to prepare some sandwiches for us. “Want some help?”
“No, all I need from you is to sit there and watch me with those beautiful eyes.” Giggling at Kade as he continued to make our sandwiches. He brought the plates over, along with some ice-cold water from the fridge.
A whistle broke the silence between us as we ate ” Damn, And who might you be gorgeous?”
Kade groaned from beside me. “Damn, thought we’d have more time before you had to meet him.” He said rolling his eyes. “Beta Jace, This is Madilynne Parker. Also my mate, so off-limits.” Kade said flatly. The male, Jace, laughed and clapped Kades back with one of those bro hugs. “Congrats man! She’s a real beauty.” He smiled and winked at me. His features reminded me of someone.
The door opened and in walked the same blonde female I ran into earlier. God’s were they siblings? “Ah, Cassie! Come here sis, This is Kade’s mate. Madilynne Parker.” Jace shouted with a bright smile, I couldn’t help but smile back. Cassie didn’t even acknowledge me, and went directly to Kade, placing a hand on his arm. Wrong move.
Anger flooded my senses. I watched as Kade sat stock still with his eyes wide at her hand placement. “Get. Your. Hands. Off. Him.” My hands clenched on the table as I growled out. “Or what.” She said flatly, with her hands traveling up to his neck where my mark lay. I lost it. Willows rage seamlessly blended in with my own. ‘I want that she wolfs blood. NOW.’ Willows bellow echoed in my head.
“K..Kade! Get her off of me!” My grip tightened around her neck as I pressed her harder into the wall. “If you touch my mate again I will rip your arms off of your body. Don’t. Touch. Him.” Dominance was rolling off of me in waves as she whimpered. Finally, she Submitted, exposing her neck to me. My wolf snarled in disgust as I dropped her to the floor and turned my back to her.
“Did she just?” Jace asked Kade in shock. “Yup, She’s an Alpha female.”
