Chapter 62
Chapter 62
Ruben was at work, so he couldn’t drink much. I didn’t force him either, we just had casual conversations from time to time.
He said, “Sylvia, the last time you borrowed 3,500 dollars from me, I had 1,000 dollars left. I will pay you back first. I will do part–time jobs to earn money and repay you. I will start my internship next semester. Once I find a better internship company, I should be able to save enough money quickly.”
“Are you about to start your internship?” I was taken aback.
“Well, Emilia will be graduating next June. She will be a senior next year,” Ruben sighed, feeling nostalgic. “Time really flies.”
I remained silent, as if yesterday I had pretended to accidentally meet Frederic on campus. But in the blink of an eye, I am almost thirty years
old.
Just then, three other figures walked towards us. I immediately recognized Tristan. Why were he, Davin, and Jaylen also at this bar?
Damn fate.
“Ruben, you go ahead and busy yourself,” I quickly said to Ruben.
“Alright, Sylvia, call me anytime if you need anything,” Ruben said as he got up and left in a hurry.
Tristan’s gaze followed Ruben’s figure as it moved, before finally returning to me after a while.
Davin saw me and for a moment didn’t know what to call me, and he
and Jaylen exchanged glances.
These two people didn’t know Ruben and probably thought that I had just called the waiter to bring drinks,
Tristan sat down next to me. His long legs were casually crossed. His sharp gaze scrutinized me.
“Tristan, this seat is not good. Let’s sit over there,” Davin said
nervously, afraid to sit with me. After all, he was the one who schemed with Frederic to pursue other women
“You guys go ahead first. I’ll come over in a moment,” Tristan replied calmly.
“Fine.” Davin and Jaylen immediately found a seat farthest away from
- me.
I found it really funny. Could it be possible that I would do something inappropriate to them?
“Again, by chance?” Tristan spoke up. I knew he was referring to me sitting with Ruben just now.
“Yes, it was truly a coincidence,” I replied honestly, meeting his gaze calmly
“Where is Frederic?” Tristan scanned the surroundings. “Weren’t you the one who left in his car?”
I shrugged. “I happened to see him and his true love at the hotel. I was feeling down, so I got off his car hallway and went for a drink. And then I ran into you. Is it a coincidence?”
Tristan’s eyes flickered. “That girl named Emilia was at Peak Restaurant?”
I smiled brightly, “Yes. Are you interested in her?”
Tristan gave a slightly mocking smile. “Not interested, you’re overthinking.”
When did he finally become interested?
However, I really had something to discuss with Tristan. I poured a glass of wine for Tristan and after some consideration, I said, “Tristan, I know about Emilia and Ruben, please don’t tell anyone, especially Frederic, okay?”
I forgot to remind him properly last time. Frederic’s phone call last night really made me a little nervous
