Chapter 61
Chapter 61
“Pull over, I have something to do and won’t be going back,” I suddenly spoke up.
“Where are you going?” Frederic asked.
“We’d better not meddle in each other’s personal matters,” I replied coldly as I unbuckled my seatbelt.
Frederic glanced at me, his eyes icy, and then pulled over to the side of the road. “Get out.”
immediately got off the car and walked onto the sidewalk without looking back. Frederic’s car zoomed past from the side without any hesitation.
If Emilia had gotten off the car in anger, he would never have left, no, he wouldn’t even have let Emilia get off the car.
I tapped my head. What am I thinking again? Why am I still comparing myself to Emilia? In Frederic’s heart, she and I are not on the same level.
After flagging down a taxi, I wearily said, “Take me to the nearest bar around here.”
Ten minutes later, I arrived at a bar. There weren’t many people here in the afternoon, and it was quite empty inside. I found a spot by myself, ordered a few bottles of alcohol, and drank alone.
I suddenly remembered the handsome guy that Greta had introduced to me before. I had also declined to take his contact information. At this moment, I really needed someone to accompany me for a drink, so I
prepared to call and ask for that man’s number.
“Sylvia?” I had just picked up my phone when Ruben, dressed in a waiter’s uniform, appeared in front of me.
“Ruben?” I was also a bit surprised. “Are you doing part–time work here?”
Ruben nodded with a smile. “Yes. The school was on vacation.”
I thought carefully. The short holiday came. As someone who doesn’t work or go to school, I didn’t pay any attention to it at all.
No wonder Emilia was also working as a temporary employee at Peak Restaurant. It turns out they were both doing part–time jobs.
Ruben put on this black and white vest shirt, looking handsome. He didn’t look like a student anymore, but rather like a man. However, his eyes remained clear.
“Aren’t you busy? Sit down and have a drink with me,” I pointed to a nearby seat.
“I’m not busy right now. Bars usually get busier in the evening,” Ruben sat down beside her. He glanced at the drinks on the table and asked, “Sylvia, are you feeling down? Why are you drinking alone?”
I poured Ruben a glass of wine and gave a bitter smile, “I was not in a good mood. My husband and I were about to get divorced.”
Ruben asked in surprise, “Why?”
I looked at him, intentionally mysterious, “Guess.”
Ruben didn’t say anything, probably afraid that he guessed right and would hurt my feelings if he said it out loud. I looked at his slightly troubled expression and felt a little better. What a cute big boy he is.
He is much better than Frederic.
“He fell in love with someone else. I will probably receive a large sum of money and become a divorced woman.” I took a sip of my drink and cheerfully spoke about this somewhat pitiful situation.
“Sylvia, you are so good, how could he fall in love with someone else…” Ruben seemed a bit puzzled.
I sighed and said, “Some people like to cat expensive seafood, while others prefer vegetables. It’s normal.”
Ruben comforted me again, “Sylvia, he will definitely regret it. He will realize in the future that you are the best.”
I burst out laughing. I really wanted to tell Ruben that Frederic fell in love with your girlfriend. He won’t regret it, and his love will only grow deeper. They can be considered passionately in love with each other.
“I don’t know. Maybe.” I raised my glass. “Don’t say anything that will dampen the mood. Let’s drink.”
