Evil Angels

Chapter 15

Larus’ POV

Where is she?

I have been back at the house for twenty minutes now pacing back and forth.

“Fledgling, please come home.”

“I can’t Larus. Just give me some time to think.”

She looked so hurt back at that house. The way she looked at Emma, made it seem like she just killed a puppy. I think I know exactly what she is going through right now because it happened with me and my maker but I don’t want the same to repeat with her.

If only I would have known before I let Emma give her blood.

I should’ve known.

“Alexandra please. I just want to talk. I know how you feel.”

There was silence for a moment then her voice filled my head, “Give me about a half an hour. I am over New York right now.”

She sure does fly fast,

After about twenty five minutes, I heard her landing outside of the door. I opened it seeing her panting in her human with her hair ratted out and her clothes torn up, “What happened to you?”

She stepped inside and fell down onto the couch, “Ummm… I flew for awhile. Landed for a break… Maybe I fought with a bear for a bit… flew again and now I am here.”

At least she didn’t go on a killing spree like I did.

“Alrighty then... ,” I sat down in the chair next to her. “Do you want to change your clothes before we talk?”

She looked over herself then laughed, “Nah, I think I am good for a few more minutes. What did you want to talk about?”

“I know how you feel right now… As you know I was an angel before I was turned. I was one of the first angels to be turned to evil. My maker was turned as a human and is one of the oldest out of all the evils. The one thing I didn’t know before he was taken by the angels was that he was my mate… When we find our mates they are the only person that we protect no matter what. We never harm them, leave them, or even put them into harm’s way. But young fledgling me was stupid and not experienced enough to fight when the angels came for him… When he was gone, I felt so alone. Broken that I couldn’t fight to save him. So I flew off and sort of went on a killing spree. I killed anyone and anything until I finally found some since and moved up here in this castle about twenty years ago.”

She shook her head, “I-I don’t think I understand Larus.”

“I knew you wouldn’t. Exactly like I didn’t back then… Alexandra, Emma is your mate.”

She burst out laughing, “Are you crazy?! I can’t have a mate.”

Of course she won’t believe me.

“How did you feel when you were drinking her blood?”

Her face immediately went serious, “It was the best thing I ever tasted.”

“And how did you feel after?”

“I felt devastated. Like I had hurt the one thing that mattered to me… I just kept thinking that she would never forgive me and that felt so horrible… Holy shit, she is my mate.”

She put her head in her hands, “She is never going to forgive me. I hurt her then just left her there.”

Every extinct in me pulled me to comfort her. I jumped up and wrapped my arms around her, “You didn’t know. It was my fault I let her give her blood… I just don’t want you to end up like I did.”

She sat up and returned my embrace, “I won’t. Should I go back to her?”

I released my hold, “You can if you want to but I do suggest you change your clothes and maybe even take a shower.”

“You think I stink or something?”

I smiled, “No, you just have some blood on you.”

“Yeah, I will go take care of that.”

Alexandra’s POV

I took a shower and changed into my evil to wash off my wings.

Oops I didn’t realize I got that much blood on me.

I rinsed off and brushed my hair out, putting it into a bun. My pointed ears were visible unlike when I had my hair down. I put on my black jeans and coat then took off out of my window.

“I will be home later Larus.”

“No problem. Take your time, fledgling.”

His voice still sounded so hurt and saddened.

Poor Larus. I wish he had his mate because this feels horrible.

I flew down the hill as fast as I could and landed on Emma’s roof. I listened in hearing her small heartbeat again and light breathing.

She is still out.

I dropped down to her door and walked to her bedroom. She was still gently laying there with her eyes closed. The gauze on her arm was turning red from her blood so I got the kit to rewrap it. I unwrapped the gauze and examined the bite mark around her forearm.

I will clean it out later so I don’t wake her up.

I wrapped it back up then went out to the kitchen.

Maybe I can make her some tea.

My eyes looked over the kitchen then connected with the blood spot on the floor.

Shit.

I cleaned up the floor and put on a pot of tea. After the tea was done, the sun was starting to go down again.

Time to clean her wound out.

I sat down next to her bed and unwrapped her arm again. I dug through the bag and found the rubbing alcohol bottle.

This is going to wake her up.

I unscrewed the cap and poured it on, immediately waking her up. She screamed out in pain. She tried to pull her arm away but I held it in place, “I am sorry, Emma, but we have to clean it. It is almost over.”

Please stop. It hurts me to know you are in pain.

I rubbed in some neosporin and then remapped it in gauze. She sighed out in relief, “Thank god that is over. What a way to wake someone up.”

“Sorry. I made you some tea that I can bring in.”

She got up out of bed, “Nah I got it. I will pour you some too.”

I followed her out and morphed into my human.

I don’t need to freak her out by walking around in my evil.

I sat down at her table as she poured out the tea for the two of us, “Hey Emma, can I talk to you for a second?”

She set down the tea in front of me and took a seat across from me, “Yeah go ahead.”

Well here goes nothing.

“Well first off, I am really really sorry about your arm. I shouldn’t have drank your blood…”

She stopped me, “Apology not accepted. You did what you had to, to survive. I knew the risk and I was willing to help you. Please don’t say sorry.”

Well that’s the somewhat easy part down. I am still not going to stop apologizing.

I took a deep breath, “One other thing. Emma you are my…”

I felt the presence run over me.

Not now.

Gabe Newman

Time of death ten minutes by old age. 83 Cobalt Rd, Darby, Montana.

“Ummm Alexandra. Hello?”

I snapped back to reality, “Sorry, I have to get going.”

“Why? What’s wrong?”

I stood up and let my evil out, “I have to guide a soul.”

Her eyes widened then she looked nervous, “Ummm… Can I come?”

What?

“I am not sure about that, Emma. I don’t think this is something you should see.”

Time of death: six minutes.

I have to get going.

“Alexandra, I have already seen you do it once. What’s so wrong about this time?”

I heard Larus’ voice in my head, “Let her see it. She is your mate and will see it at some point. This person is probably just a float on.”

I looked over at Emma.

Shit. Hopefully that angel doesn’t come again.

I sighed, “Come here. We are flying. Are you okay with that?”

She smiled, “Yes I am.”

Oh yeah humans have never flown before.

She got up and walked over to me. I wrapped my arms around her and lifted her into my body. I wrapped my tail around her too to be extra careful and walked out the door, “Is this okay for you?”

It definitely feels amazing for me. I can protect you now.

She nodded, “Yeah it’s perfect.”

I flapped my wings and took to the air. Emma’s eyes widened as she looked at the ground below us. She then shut her eyes and buried her face into my shoulder.

“What’s wrong?”

She peeked her eyes open a bit, “I am really afraid of heights.”

How cute.

“Don’t worry we will be there in about thirty seconds.”

I landed in the yard in front of a really nice cabin, “Okay Emma, here is how this will go. Stay behind me and try not to make too much of a distraction. I need to be focused so I know no one else is here and to keep us safe.”

I listened in, hearing Gabe’s faint heartbeat.

We are coming close. Here we go.
