Evil Angels

Chapter 16

Alexandra’s POV

We walked into the house. I smelt the air and listened in, hearing Emma’s heartbeat fluttering away, “He is in the bedroom. You nervous?”

She let out a small laugh, “I am about to see a person die. Of course I am. What the hell was I thinking?”

I morphed into my human, “Don’t think of it as dying. They are just moving on to their next life. Death is easy and simple.”

I walked into the bedroom seeing Gabe lying on his bed, “Hello Gabe.”

The old man with white hair leaned up a bit, “Ah, the time has finally come, I see.”

“What are you talking about?”

He laughed, “A man named Larus came and did the exact same thing to my daughter ten years ago then my wife a year ago. I saw him do it and he sat and talked to me about it. So are you new to the area or is Larus not around anymore?”

“Ummmm… Larus this person knows you.”

“Gabe… I will be there in a few minutes.”

“Be careful he only has two minutes left.”

I looked over his room, “Larus is my maker and he is on his way.”

He smiled, “Of course he should be here in the end.”

He looked me over, “It’s okay dear you don’t have to hide yourself from me. I know it’s just to make me comfortable but I have seen it all before.”

I relaxed my body and released my evil, “Thank you. It feels good not having to focus on holding it in.”

Gabe’s eyes brightened up, “No problem dear… who is this?”

He looked over at Emma behind me and motioned for her to come over. She hesitated but I nodded and she moved over to him, “Hello, my name is Emma.”

He looked her over, “Are you one of them?”

I laughed, “No she is human. She was just curious about what I do.”

He gently grabbed her hand, “You think she is a demon and kills people.”

Emma looked over at my horns and nodded which made Gabe laugh, “Trust me dear. I have seen Larus work his magic twice now. It is peaceful and no killing is involved. Don’t be scared or nervous. My time has come and I have lived a great life. Okay?”

Time of death: one minute.

She smiled, “Okay.”

I heard Larus land and come inside. I led Emma back to her place behind me while Larus went straight to Gabe, “Gabe. I am sorry I wasn’t here earlier. Your soul called out to her first.”

“Oh son, don’t you worry… You told me that the first time I saw you and I am still sticking to that. I am not worried. I am almost at my time anyways.”

Larus grabbed his hand, “Alexandra, come over here. You are his guide.”

I walked over and knelt down next to his bed, “Alright Gabe you only have a few seconds left.”

He smiled, “Thank you, Alexandra and thank you Larus. I can’t wait to see my girls again.”

Dun dun… dun dun… dun… dun……….

Time of death: 5:10 pm.

His eyelids slowly dropped closed and the faint glow of his soul appeared around him. It slowly floated up and away through the roof.

Larus stood up and sighed, “He is happy now.”

I nodded, “Perfect. I will call so his body will be found.”

I grabbed the phone off his nightstand, called 911 then hung up, and placed the phone in his hand.

I looked over at Emma that was staring at Gabe. Her face showed some much sadness but also a bit of happiness as her eyes looked over to me.

Suddenly, Larus smelt the air and shot up, “Angels.”

I smelt it too, “It’s not that one that attacked me but there is definitely about three of them.”

He stretched his wings out a bit, “I will lead them away. You take Emma back to the castle. They won’t mess with you because you have a human.”

I walked over to Emma and picked her up again, “I am sorry but we are going to be flying really fast.”

She buried her head in my shoulder, “That is fine by me.”

“Larus, I will see you at home.”

He walked out of the house with us and snapped out his wings, “See you in a few minutes, fledgling.”

He took off one way while we took off towards the castle. We landed in my bedroom about two minutes later. Emma was clawing into me the whole flight and I had to pry her off of me when we landed, “You really don’t like heights.”

She took a deep breath, “Yeah, did I hurt you?”

I morphed into my human, “No you are fine. Do you want anything to eat or drink? Larus normally keeps stuff in the kitchen for our nonexistent human guests.”

She looked down at the floor, “Umm… I am getting a little hungry.”

“Alright, come down to the kitchen with me. I will fix you up something.”

I showed her out of my room and her wide eyes glanced over everything in the castle, “You guys live here?!”

“Yup, just the two of us. There are about ten bedrooms in total. Five bathrooms. A library. A few random rooms. Then, two living rooms and I believe a pool room.”

She stopped looking at one of the oil paintings Larus had hanging in the hall, “Is that Larus?”

I looked over at the painting. In it Larus was standing with big beautiful white, feathery wings outstretched and a silver sword in his hand. His hair was pure white and he had piercing blue eyes, “Yes, that is him. Unlike me, he was an angel before he was turned.”

“Why don’t you guys like angels?”

I shook my head, “It’s not that we don’t like them. We used to coexist with them. We would both be there at a person’s death. They would guide the soul up and we would guide them down but they turned greedy. They wanted to take all the souls as more and more people in the world were becoming evil and deserved hell. So now we stay clear of them.”

“Jesus… All my life I thought angels were so pure but that one attacked you.”

“It’s just part of my life now.”

I led her down to the kitchen and opened up all the cabinets, filled with food, “What would you like to eat? We basically have enough food for anything you want.”

“I will take a ham sandwich if you can make one.”

“Of course, I can.”

I grabbed all the stuff and started to cut off pieces from the loaf of bread when I heard Emma speak again, “So, what were you trying to tell me before we left?”

Shit… I thought she would have forgotten by now.

I put down the knife and looked up at her, sitting at the counter, “Well… umm… Emma you are my mate.”
