Chapter BIT 52

Chapter 52

Rebecca smiled stiffly. “Harvey had something urgent to take care of at the office, so he rushed back there,” she lied. Jacob nodded hesitantly. “Um, okay then. By the way, congratulations on your baby!” he said, smiling broadly.

Thanks, Jacob. I gotta go, bye,” replied Rebecca. She smiled faintly and then walked slowly toward the elevator with Cathy, who was struggling with the items from the hospital.

“Isn’t that Jacob, your old neighbor? The owner of the café below your apartment?” murmured Cathy, glancing back occasionally to see Jacob walking out of the lobby.

Rebecca nodded, indifferent.

“Wow, he’s more handsome than you described,” Cathy tried to joke, but Rebecca remained unaffected.

“Becky? What’s wrong?” Cathy asked when Rebecca just stood in front of her apartment door instead of opening it. Rebecca closed her eyes, “Sorry.” She shook her head and then quickly opened the door. All those feelings flooded back–feelings of emptiness she had never experienced before..

“This is really strange. I feel like I’ve lost the will to live,” Rebecca muttered after putting her baby to sleep in the nursery she had designed with Harvey.

Cathy sighed deeply, “Your hormones greatly affect your mood. You just gave birth, so it’s natural to feel very depressed. I’ll make you some hot chocolate, wait here!” She jumped off the sofa and hurried to the kitchen.

Rebecca turned her gaze to the window, observing the bustling streets of Manhattan, which contrasted with her mood. Hesitantly, she scrolled through her phone and stared at Harvey’s name for a long time before finally pressing the green button to call him. The call connected, but there was no answer.

Her whole body started to tremble. Fear, disappointment, and anger all combined, making it hard for her to breathe. She covered her face, wishing she could cry, but no tears came, as if her body refused to cooperate.

“Hot Chocolate!” Cathy exclaimed, placing a steaming cup of hot chocolate on the table in front of Rebecca. “Should we head over to the Specter Residence in Long Island? Or

“No, I’ll wait a week and then decide what to do,” Rebecca replied firmly. “Deep down, I’m sure Harvey wouldn’t leave me like this. Even if he intended to, he would at least say goodbye,” Rebecca said, her hands trembling as she took the cup of hot chocolate and sipped it.

Cathy sighed deeply, “I think so too. After everything you two have been through, it would be strange for Harvey to just abandon you. What if Alicia is threatening him? What kind of threat could make Harvey Specter play along with Alicia’s game?”

Rebecca looked at Cathy, surprised by the suggestion. She shrugged, “I don’t know, a suicide threat?” she replied, her voice choking. Just the idea of Harvey worrying about Alicia’s safety made her stomach churn. She hated to admit it, but she was incredibly jealous.

Suddenly, Cathy’s phone rang.

“It’s my source. I’ll put it on speaker!” she exclaimed, pressing the green button.

“Hey Dean? Any new info?” she asked, staring at her phone’s screen curiously.

“I’ve found them,” Dean replied calmly. Rebecca and Cathy exchanged shocked glances. “What? Are you sure it’s them?” Cathy asked incredulously.

“Check the picture I sent you!” Dean replied, somewhat annoyed. Cathy quickly opened the message Dean had sent and frowned at the image.

“Becky, is this Harvey?”

Rebecca looked down at the picture of a woman and a man sitting next to each other. “That’s clearly Alicia, but the man beside her, his build is similar to Harvey’s, but I can’t see his face clearly. But he looks a lot like Harvey,” Rebecca said, her voice catching.

“You need to make sure that’s Harvey Specter or not! Don’t jump to conclusions!” Cathy snapped at Dean.

“Mr. Specter’s car is parked in front of that woman’s house. Do you think someone else would be sitting on the balcony? It doesn’t make sense, does it?” Dean retorted, equally annoyed.

Cathy ended the call and moved to the sofa beside Rebecca. “Becky, don’t should go

there? At least you need answers quickly. Believe me, you won’t be able to handle the emotions building up inside you. You have to think about your baby. The

sooner we resolve this, the better. What do you think?

Rebecca wrung her hands anxiously. Do you think Alicia is still as dangerous as before? You know I was never afraid of anything, but how there’s a little baby I have to take care of. If something happens to me, who will take care of him? It’s not the same anymore, Cathy

“Oh, shit! You’re right. Alicia might target your baby if you try to take Harvey from her,” Cathy said, massaging her temples in desperation.

Rebecca sighed deeply, “I’m not going to bother Alicia. I mean, she’s not my concern. My concern is my husband, Harvey. He’s an adult who knows what decisions he needs to make. Even if Alicia threatens him, he should know the best decision to make.”

She finished her hot chocolate and immediately felt much better.

Cathy just grimaced, not knowing what to say!

As they chatted, trying to distract themselves from the thoughts of Harvey and Alicia, the doorbell suddenly rang loudly. Rebecca and Cathy exchanged confused glances.

“Yes?” Cathy asked through the CCTV intercom.

“I’m the building’s delivery service. I have a package for Mrs. Specter,” said the delivery person, stifling a yawn.

“I know him, just open the door,” Rebecca said, nodding slightly.

“From whom?” Rebecca asked, accepting the package with a furrowed brow.

“There’s no sender’s name. Please sign here. Okay, thank you.” The delivery person nodded politely and left to deliver other packages.

“Let me open it,” Cathy said, walking to the sofa and opening the large envelope as she walked. Rebecca snatched the package from Cathy’s hands, “I want to see!” she said impatiently.

“Shit!” Cathy exclaimed, eyes wide.

Rebecca swallowed hard, her hands trembling. “Oh God, it can’t be real, can it?”
