Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1347

Victoria never understood why Anthony gifted her the bracelet. Even if he did, they had a history, and she worked in the fashion industry; she could just say she had forgotten or she suddenly needed it to accessorize an outfit or even prevaricate with any excuse. Who'd

thought the trick was in the meaning behind it!

Did she go through all this trouble just to have Trevor think she had been wearing a love token Anthony gifted her? Would she not find the move childish?

How baffling!

But judging from Trevor's reaction, she had a good idea that it worked. He perhaps had his suspicions, but his mood had eased a lot, seeing how the situation turned out.

In actuality, the determiner sometimes wasn't necessarily a fiery course but precisely these seemingly inconspicuous details.

Selena tugged the corner of her lips somewhat awkwardly; things had gone south when she couldn't get something solid on her. "Your bestie sure is weird. What bestie would engrave a gift?"

That in itself wasn't normal, to begin with!

Something so obvious yet the impact had been severely compromised. What was more, she was undoubtedly only shooting herself in the foot right then when she had created so many discords.

She'd be lying if she said she wasn't annoyed. Hence, her tone was inevitably bitter.

Victoria shot a nasty look at her, visibly upset.

"A clean hand needs no washing. Who says only a man can gift? Ally and I happen to like buying each other presents! You can let me know if something catches your eye; I can gift a couple to you. You'll understand how amazing it feels!" She was the one with a twisted mind, yet she accused others of being crooked. This woman was nowhere as likable as she looked!

She couldn't tell if it was because they were love rivals or that past and current loves were never meant to get along, but in short, Victoria loathed her from head to toe after this interaction.

What was more, because Selena brought the bracelet up, she felt as though she had swallowed a fly, absolutely disgusted!

Trevor had deliberately turned a blind eye earlier, but now that some questions had been answered, his mind became more explicit, already upset as he took a gander at Selena.

"It's getting late, and you must be tired. Go home and get some rest!"

Having suffered an unspeakable loss and being covertly asked to leave, Selena said nothing more and left.

As the door closed, the ward was instantly enveloped in a strange depression, and Victoria's face fell when she turned around. Finding the food on the overbed table jarring, she immediately took it all away and poured it down the toilet. Trevor was in an indescribable mood as he latched his gaze at Victoria, who dashed back and forth, knowing she was clearly upset. But in reality, he had been waiting for her to return to feed him dinner; however, who'd thought Selena came after he overheard the rumors about the bracelet.

He had never let Selena feed him, but he had been stirred that day, inadvertently affected by the nurses' discussion on how magical the bracelet was in addition to his suspicion of Victoria wearing Anthony's gift all this while. For the first time, he didn't say no to Selena's intimacy, didn't hurriedly shoo her away, didn't fear she and Victoria would run into each other. But in reality, he hadn't even had a bite of anything.

Victoria returned to the bedside and landed her gaze on the spot Selena had been sitting after chucking everything unsightly away, scrunching up her nose when she could still smell the lingering scent of another woman. Finding it more and more intrusive, she took a bite of the cake she bought only to feel even more pissed off. She deliberated for a second but still threw it in the trash can, even spitting out the cake in her mouth into it.

"Blech, so bitter; how much sugar is in this? Liar!"

After kicking the air angrily, she went to grab her bag, feeling beyond awful.

However, right as she turned around, Trevor grabbed her arm. "Where are you going?"

"Home! To sleep! I'm exhausted too!"

After roaring, she flung his hand away. Hadn't he decided to ignore her? Why f*cking talk to her now?

She had basically spent her days here with him, leaving to get her business done only to return immediately, even rushing back before she could even have a meal. Yet she had never heard him say anything about being tired, only that he was missing some other woman. As if she wouldn't get tired at all!

Couldn't she just go home and sleep when she had been doing thankless jobs?

"Vicky... I haven't eaten yet!"

Trevor softened up a little as he held her hand, even deliberately acting pitiful to make her feel bad.

Hearing that, Victoria hit the roof, shoving him away. "Good, starve to death! What does it have to do with me?"

He didn't need her feeding him anyway!

Beyond livid, she turned around and left after lashing out.

It wasn't until Trevor heard the booming slam from the door that he realized she was furious, seriously furious!

At that point, he could only get out of bed and pack his things up. He thought he could stay another couple of days here, but it looked like he'd still have to leave the hospital that day in the end, clearly having done all for nothing. It was already close to eleven by the time he got home, and right then, Victoria was still very much upset, slamming her fists on a plushie as she paced the room.

Seeing him, she immediately chucked the plushie onto the couch and walked toward an inner corner, not wanting to have anything to do with him.

Trevor's rationality returned as he calmed down on his way back, walking up to her after putting the suitcase down. "What's with the bracelet?"

Was Alicia's middle name really Anthea?

He had his speculations, but he wasn't sure.

As though a bomb had struck her, Victoria took off the bracelet as she turned around and chucked it at him.

"Are you really so bothered by some stupid bracelet? So what if it's really from Anthony and I wear it? What can it prove? If a bracelet can seal a relationship, why didn't you buy one and put it on her?! Wouldn't that have solved everything?! Wouldn't that have solved your relative issue? At least you won't have to keep this up and see her behind my back!

Victoria removed the filter on her mouth as she lashed out, unaware that her anger came from her jealousy. Hearing her words, Trevor turned grim nearly instantly. The topic wasn't just a sore spot but also his taboo. His fatal history with Selena wasn't just some simple love entanglement. Because of their kinship, he had suffered countless ethical condemnations and burdens. He had even wondered if he was a freak at one point. How could he have such abnormal affections

toward his cousin?

He was so close, SO CLOSE to having depression then!

What was more, Selena's illness and her constant entanglement had him bearing a lot in silence. Those who had never experienced it probably would never understand the pain and torture he was going through.

Of course, his best friends barely knew anything when even Fredrick didn't dare point things out outright. But Victoria presented it right in his face then, even using an unrelenting tone.

As though a pustule-filled wound was laid bare in front of them, very different from when he licked the wound himself, Trevor's expression right then looked beyond awful and strange. "What did you say?"

Honestly, what he ultimately minded wasn't the bracelet but her!

But Victoria was so angry that she didn't consider the point, only thinking that he was seeing his ex behind her back, all affectionate even. Though she had known for a long time, never even having much hope in all of this, seeing it with her own eyes and being mentally

prepared were two different matters, especially feeling super insecure and jealous when she was met with such a frail beauty as a fellow woman. Right then, her anger had already taken control of her.

"I said you two are shameless! Who the f*ck does she think she is to criticize me? Don't you glare at me! What? You're already upset because I'm criticizing her? Didn't you want to stay in the hospital because you wanted her to feel bad for you, because you wanted her to be by your side? Happy now? Will you betieve me if I say I accepted and wore the bracelet because I thought it was from you? Will you believe me If I say that f*cking b*tch set me up? You didn't even believe me when I said I missed our date because I was locked up in the storage, so why

ask when you won't believe me at

all?! Am I not allowed to criticize her

when you two are using me as a

black curtain?"

A lump grew in her throat, growing angrier the more she thought about it. "Either way, you two ganged up to bully me..."

One ignored her, and the other fought aggressively with her! She believed he favored that woman over her when she recalled he barely said anything back in the ward. She was his wife, a wife he defiled and stole.

Filled with grievances, she yelled, "So what if I criticize you two? You two are nothing but shameless freaks!"

"You!"

Hearing her condemnation right when he had just suppressed his anger, every word stabbing his heart, challenging his limit, Trevor turned beyond livid with rage, his stomach spasming painfully.

"What? Are you going to hit me because I'm right?"

She dared him to try! She couldn't do anything to him, but she refused to believe Grandma and his mother would turn a blind eye to it!

"Atlas!"

Trevor could feel his stomach contracting the moment he spoke, tugging at his nerves. With that, he took a deep breath and said helplessly.

"There's nothing between Selena and me. I don't want to hear such things from you again!"

He genuinely had the urge to strangle her right then; even his parents never scolded him in his face like she just did. Not wanting to end up back in the hospital because of his anger, he turned around and strode to the door.

As the booming slam of a door came, Victoria's senses returned to her immediately, dumbfounded. What in the world had she just said?!
