Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Victoria's gaze landed reflexively on the ruby and sapphire bracelet. Ever since discovering its secret, no matter what outfit she matched it with, whether she liked it or not, if it was visible under winter clothing, or if it meant anything, she barely ever took it off. She always had a feeling there was more than what she was seeing, but who'd thought the person to reveal it would be this cousin-in-law she had never met.

And sure enough, Trevor's expression turned beyond grim that instant.

Though knowing there was more to the bracelet, she didn't expect such a profound significance. Selena was clearly implying she was cheating on him!

This marriage wasn't exactly what she wanted in the first place, but her upbringing was rather conservative. Hence, deep down, marriage was sacred to her, so she hated disloyalty and betrayal the most! Most men minded that as well, no? What was more, physical and emotional cheating were different. Evidently, this woman was driving her toward that accusation.

Things would've been fine if she didn't bring it up, but now that she did, she was also adding fuel to Trevor's anger. He overheard the nurses talking about the Cupid's Love bracelet when he was out on a stroll that evening. Then when he saw the pictures they took of the one Anthony owned, he grew pissed, remembering seeing it on Victoria's wrist. If gazes could kill, Trevor's glare at Victoria would've had her dead by now.

And the three naturally sensed the delicate atmosphere.

However, before Trevor could speak, Victoria raised her hand and spoke up. "Is that so? Is this bracelet so magical? You know so much..."

She pointed out insinuatingly and chuckled.

"If it's really as efficacious as you say, then wouldn't all the mistresses in the world risk losing everything to get it for themselves? All this swindling; buying this and having the person accept it will be so much faster than having to fight others for love, won't it?" Following that, Victoria feigned awareness and removed the bracelet. "I wonder what's engraved on mine. If it's really so efficient, you might have trouble ahead of you, Hubby..." She then smiled, rendering the other two dumbfounded. Her retort was similarly logical, mocking both flagrantly and inconspicuously. Selena's expression turned awful right then, but she couldn't stop her slightly pursed lips from curving upward a little, smug.

Let's see who'd have the last laugh!

After a pause, she turned to Trevor, acting surprised. "Wait, you're not the one who gave her the bracelet, Trevor?"

Then, she turned her reprimanding gaze over to Victoria.

"No offense, Victoria, but don't you think what you're doing isn't right? Don't bracelets also mean cuffs of love? No matter how pretty a bracelet is or how much you like it, how can you accept this so simply from some man? What's more, this is the rumored magical Cupid's Love; what if it's really as people say? What do you take my cousin as, and how should he deal with it? Seriously, how can you wear it? It's not like Trevor can't afford it. What would people think..."

A hint of malevolence flashed across Selena's face as she pointed at Victoria, implying she was disrespecting Trevor! Though the hostility only appeared for a split second, Victoria still captured it.

This woman bore ill will! She may have sounded like she meant well, but what basic respect was there?! More like covetous eyeing.

The man in the room and the status was probably her true intention, wasn't it?

She wouldn't move on from Trevor!

Victoria was feeling rather upset while she made the quick judgment as Selena had been the one stirring up trouble from the start. However, Trevor said nothing even until now. People always said new lovers smile the brightest, but why was her love so pitiable? However, no matter how dissatisfied she was right then, she still spoke with a smile.

She wanted to act? She'd act with her then, lest she'd get the blame if things escalated! "Want to see me make a fool of myself? Let's see who has the last laugh!" she mused.

With that, she flipped the bracelet over and pretended to rub her fingertips against it, handing it to Trevor, not even batting an eye at Selena.

"Hubby, can you check what it says?"

Trevor's eyes were bloodshot then, beyond livid. But just as he extended his hand to slap it away, Victoria quickly withdrew her hand. "I got it!"

If he did slap it away, a certain someone would prevail, wouldn't they?

She then took a pencil out from her bag and rubbed it against the engraving with a piece of paper on top, deliberately muttering, "Jesus, Ally, why did you gift me an engraved bracelet? Don't tell me you want to elope with me!"

Trevor and Selena were stumped hearing that, and Trevor snatched the rubbing from her before she could say anything else. Of course, it wasn't difficult to find a magnifying glass in the hospital, and a few words came into sight in no time.

"My Love Vic & Anthea"

Victoria giggled again.

"My, Vic and

Anthea, our names. Did she really want to elope with me?! What now, Hubby? If it's as efficacious as rumored, does that mean I really end up with my bestie in the end? Should we come out of the closet?"

Though her words were coherent, something was obviously off, leading Selena to gnash her teeth in a fury. Of course, Trevor wasn't oblivious either, asking lightly.

"Anthea? Not Alicia?"

Though Anthea was also indeed a woman's name!

It was a thin bracelet; what was more, a finished product. It wasn't difficult to put engraving, but removing it would be a challenge. Even if it could be erased, there would still be marks. Clearly, there weren't any!

Though surprised by the unexpected, no one expected Victoria to cleverly add letters to the engraving, turning 'Anth' to 'Anthea'l

Selena had only given their names but didn't check, so she hadn't a clue what was actually engraved on the bracelet. Hence, her mind was a mess amidst her frustration.

"Yeah, Alicia Anthea Blanchard. Some call her Alicia, others Anthea. Just like how people either call me Vic or Yuliya. Many people chose to save the trouble and call me Vic, but honestly, I like Yuliya more!" Honestly, if it weren't because it was a challenge to change the engraving, she and Alicia wouldn't have to go through the trouble to give themselves another middle name.

Clearly, not only was Trevor unaware, but Selena was even more baffled.

Their expressions changed the moment they heard her explanation.

Then, Victoria wore the bracelet back on her wrist as though it wasn't a big deal. "If itreal y is so efficacious, I should go and live the rest of my life with Ally then. I won't be the one single anyway! Hehe..." Two could play the game!
