Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1345

Was it that she didn't get into character or that she was just too dumb?

She and Alicia clearly stood at the same starting line initially, but now, she could do all this very well while still couldn't get anything right. No wonder Frederick babied her! So was her love and marriage destined to be a mess?

The rare insecurity and sudden sense of crisis got Victoria inexplicably panicked, feeling all sorts of emotions. Thinking of how Trevor took care of her when she got sick, her tears fell like a never-ending waterfall. "I'll do better from now on..."

She had to juggle family and career; she couldn't be a life-noob, at least, not making things worse when she already couldn't do anything to help when he was sick! What man would want a wife like that? Though entirely unaware of the change in her feelings toward Trevor, she truly realized how inadequate she was in life.

It still pained him to see her sad, so Trevor eventually wrapped his arms around her. "Don't cry anymore; people might think I'm going to die! "

He was the patient, the one in pain, yet she was the one bawling.

"Don't curse yourself! Knock on wood!"

After wiping her tears away, Victoria held his hand and blew the back of it. "Does it still hurt? I'll go and get more ice for you!"

"I'm fine..."

Then, he suddenly hugged her. "Vicky..."

He still didn't want to let go!

The words were already on the tip of his tongue, but he worried he'd ruin the mood, so he never brought Anthony up in the end. But it didn't mean it hadn't become a sore spot in his heart.

In the next couple of days, Trevor chose to continue his stay in the hospital, and this sickness became his rare opportunity to rest, even doing a full-body examination while he was at it. Every day, unless they had to take care of business during their work hours, the couple would busy themselves in the ward; Trevor, occupied with his work while Victoria researched all sorts of things that were related to the kitchen. She was unprecedentedly diligent. That day, seeing the doctor remove the last bag of IV drip before doing a routine examination on him, Victoria stretched her neck, evidently eager.

"Doctor, is my husband's okay now? When can he be discharged?"

"Yeah, he's all okay to leave now! Apart from minor inflammation in his stomach, he's basically fine. But keep an eye on his diet and rest! Try not to eat out; keep your meals light and healthy. Exercising in moderation will be beneficial to your health too! Come back a week later to take your scan results..."

"Okay, thank you, Doctor!"

After seeing the doctor off, Victoria was all excited. "Let's pack up, Hubby!"

They could finally go home!

Honestly, she didn't think he needed to be hospitalized at all as he could get his work done just fine in the last two days other than needing his two daily bags of IV drip and after- meal medications. She genuinely couldn't understand why he refused to recuperate at home when the doctors could go to their home and give him his IV drip, and he could take the medications on his own? They would've saved so much time and energy!

However, just as she picked the bolster pillow up, Trevor rained on her parade. "What's your big hurry? I still don't feel well!"

"What? Where do you feel pain?" Why didn't he tell the doctor just now?

Just when she wanted to ask if she should bring the doctor back, Trevor laid back down in bed. "Everywhere!"

What the heck?

He was throwing a tantrum; she was sure of it! Why was he acting like a child, unhappy the moment she mentioned leaving the hospital? It wasn't like there was candy here! Was he planning to live here for the rest of his life? Victoria stood rooted to the spot, dumbfounded. What was so good about a room that smelled of rubbing alcohol and medicine? What kind of quirk was this? Could it be that super healthy people have some unique longing for hospitals? Why did it look like he didn't want to leave?

She couldn't get why, but she knew her thoughts were dead right. "Forget it; the patient is allowed to be a big baby. Did he really have so much money he could burn that he was happy to spend it on torturing himself?" she mused. Just then, her phone vibrated, and Victoria no longer bothered herself with it, shaking her head as she went to busy herself.

In the evening, she left to attend to something, only returning after eight. As she had gotten used to keeping Trevor company in the hospital, she returned after finishing dealing with her business, holding some pastries and cake in her hand. She got them for herself, thinking she could kill time with them while keeping him company as he pulled an all-nighter.

After pushing the door open, she habitually exclaimed, "Hubby, I'm back..."

When she looked up, her smile froze as she saw a skinny woman with flowy hair in a beige dress sitting on the edge of the bed. Her side-back profile alone already gave her a pitiable and gentle impression. Right then, she was holding a bowl of soup in one hand and a spoon in the other, feeding Trevor.

Victoria was unresponsive for a long time, flabbergasted by what she saw.

Surprised by her sudden appearance, Selena froze for a few seconds before slowly putting the bowl down and standing up.

"Cough, cough, you must be the cousin-in-law I've never met, right? What a beauty!"

Her voice was soft, and it was unapparent what she was feeling.

Coming back to her senses, Victoria was also clearly taken aback when she saw Selena's fair, gorgeous face. So she was the cousin Trevor was in love with?

What a beauty! She was probably as fair as Snow White! No wonder he would choose to ignore the incest taboo!

Other than her beauty, her gentle appearance and soft voice gave people a frail impression, as though she was born for men. Even she had the urge to protect and feel pity for her. Victoria was beyond shocked, never expecting to meet Selena under such circumstances.

Similarly, though having seen Victoria's photos countless times, even more familiar with her than she'd like to, Selena's nails still dug into her palms the moment they met face to face.

A living, breathing person, she looked much more alive and stunning than in the photos!

However, the two gave off two completely different impressions. Selena looked like a gentle beauty from a classic painting, while Victoria was a stylish beauty with a tinge of the modern world's sharpness. She was innocent and adorkable but also alluring and hot,

having a sense of maturity ofa woman while her innocence belonging to a young girl still hadn't faded completely. More than that, because of the complicated transformation in her mentality in recent years, there was a tinge of

elusive mystery to her unique

temperament, a dimensional beauty.

The two side by side was like a cloud clashing with a rainbow, one multi-colored while the other was rather monotonous.

Victoria slowly stepped forward, but she couldn't act indifferent like Selena was doing, looking at the two in bafflement, not knowing what to say.

On the other hand, Trevor's expression was even more awful, clearly sensing his coldness the moment their eyes met. Sure enough, he pursed his lips the second, not saying anything, to her dismay.

After a moment's deliberation, she bit the bullet and greeted, "Hi..."

What kind of attitude was that?

Was he already denying her the moment he met with his ex?

"Cough, cough, you're too polite, Victoria. I've always wanted to pay you a visit, but too bad I never had the chance to recover. Trevor's so worried about me that he always won't let me leave the house. Who'd thought I'd have the pleasure to meet you today!" Selena deliberately feigned her health, coughing a couple of times as she spoke, even sitting back down on the edge of the bed, hogging the spot closest to Trevor.

At that moment, she felt as though her heart had been ripped open, excruciatingly painful.

"Illness sure comes like a tidal wave.

Trevor had always been very healthy; he barely ever even caught a cold. If my memory serves me right, the last time he got sick was years ago, a few days before I left for Korea, I think. He got me so worried when I had to leave! Who'd think his illness is so severe this time. Trevor has always been riddled with worries; who knows what has been bothering him so badly that he still hasn't recovered until today. You must've had a few hard days yourself too, huh, Victoria. You should talk more sense into

him..."

Victoria was already revolted, looking at the two. Now that her words were filled with insinuation, her first impression of this cousin-in-law was beyond terrible.

She may have looked like a frail beauty, but she was not to be taken lightly; nothing she said was trash! So was she blaming her for making Trevor so angry that he got sick or mocking her for not taking good care of him?

But more maddening, the man in question made no reaction at all. With that, Victoria quirked her eyebrows and feigned frustration.

"Oh, is that so? It's all my fault, really! Other than me, his trouble of a wife, who else could exhaust him?"

In other words, she was more important to him; no one else even came close!

Victoria deliberately emphasized their relationship, only turning to Trevor after she spoke. "Hubby, why didn't you tell me we have a visitor? I didn't bring enough pastry!"

Looking away, she noticed the dinner on the overbed table was untouched. What was going on? Did he not have his dinner?

She had a nagging feeling that something was amiss. But she couldn't dig into it right then, taking the pastries out to entertain the guests. However, as she placed the box on the table before she could even open it, Selena suddenly exclaimed. "Wow, Victoria, your bracelet is so pretty! Is this the rumored limited edition Cupid's Love bracelet? Seeing sure is believing! Was it from Trevor? How generous of you!"

"By the way, I heard that this Cupid's

Love bracelet is like Cupid's arrow; it's magical. If the couples name is engraved on it, and if one person gifts it and the other accepts, they will end up together no matter how many obstacles they've gone through! I heard it has worked on a pair who had separated for ten years ended up widowed and reconciled in the end, spending the rest of their lives together. How magical!"

many couples. There

"How thoughtful of you, Trevor! This isn't something you can just buy! There are only ninety-nine bracelets in total, one lesser if gifted! It's all down to fate! Oh, how I'd wish to have one even in my dreams..."
