Mercer’s eyebrows furrowed slightly as he noticed everything happening from the corner of his eye.

The car continued to drive out to the suburbs and suddenly took the winding road up Butterfly Hill, a well- known location outside Riverford.

Seeing the car heading up the mountain, Calla exclaimed in surprise, “Why are you taking me to Butterfly Hill?

Mercer, resting with his eyes closed, ignored Calla’s question.

Calla had no choice but to address Simon, who was driving. “Mr. Beck, stop the car. I want to get out!”

With a conflicted expression, Simon replied, “Mrs. Garland, I can’t stop the car without Mr. Garland’s orders.”

Calla’s face turned pale with anger at those words. However, she knew there was nothing she could do. She decided to remain silent and see what Mercer was up to.

After more than half an hour on the road, the car–nearing the summit–suddenly turned into what appeared to be a neighborhood of villas.

Located at the peak of Butterfly Hill, the area was dense with trees and had flowing streams, blending artificial and natural landscapes seamlessly with seven or eight stylish villas..

These villas were undoubtedly expensive. Just then, the car drove into the largest one with an expansive garden.

When the car stopped in the garden, Calla glanced outside in confusion. She started to understand Mercer’s intention.

Was he planning to confine her here? Since she wasn’t obedient and went anywhere she wanted in the city, was he going to leave her here where she couldn’t get off the mountain by herself?

At that moment, a cold sweat broke out on Calla’s back.

What a terrifying man Mercer was. In this isolated mountain where one could hardly see another person, he could easily dispose of her without a trace.

Calla refused to get out when Simon opened the car door for her.

Standing on the cobblestone ground, Mercer approached and held the car door. “Get out!” he instructed coldly.

“I’m not-” Calla hadn’t finished her sentence when she felt a tight grip on her wrist. Mercer was already pulling her out of the car.

“Let go of me!” Calla shouted as Mercer dragged her into the villa.

He threw her onto an Othopian–style leather couch and stated, “You will stay here until you give birth, so you won’t run around and find some random guy to book a hotel with.”

He was still furious, his eyes cold and his face dark, but he was trying to control his temper because he didn’t want to harm the baby in Calla’s belly.

Realizing her guess was correct, Calla rebuked, “What nonsense are you on about? How can I stay here? I have a lot of things to do. Take me back right now!

Zoey was changing her major and needed help with many things. Not only that, Carol recently had back pain and was waiting for Calla to take her to the doctor. How could she stay here?

“Jasmine will bring your personal belongings tonight to take care of you. You better not wander off. Butterfly Hill’s peak hasn’t been developed into a tourist spot yet; there are wild animals around,” Mercer warned Calla, then turned and left the villa.

When Calla realized what was happening, she quickly chased after him, only to see Mercer already in the car, which was being driven out of the garden by Simon.

“Mercer, come back here!” Calla shouted in panic.

But the garden gate was slowly closing, and she could only see the security guard waving at Mercer’s car.

At that moment, Calla sat on the doorstep in despair.

That bastard Mercer had really left her on a hilltop!
