Chapter 25
Chapter 25
Zan's lips confed into a mocking smile. It was obvious that Arthur was standing up for Josephine.
Did Arthur really know Josephine
As Zaynmulled over his suspicions, Arthur issued a cold ultimatums. "If you can't explain yourself, I'll have to assume your sneaked in Please leave my party." Nadine's face futned ashen, bereyes widening in desheliet. "Na...... 1
"She's here with me. She's my family member," Zasinterjected icily, his tone sharp and unmelding
"And as for my invitation, it was sent by Director Gilbert Fernandez. Is that a problem?"
Arthur nodded lightly. "Ah, so you were treated by Mr. Fernandez. In that case, I suppose there's nothing more to say. Since she's with you, she can stay." He shrugged, then tumed to Josephine, giving bera helpless look.
Josephine's lips twitched lato a taim, bitter smile
Family member?
How bold of Zam to throw that word around so casually, and right in front of her as well,
Thankfully, no one here knew the truth that they were still technically married otherwise, by tomorrow morning, she'd be the talk of Sunvale,
Josephine took a deep breath, pushing the thought aside, and turned to Arthur "Let's just take the photo. Once it's done, I need to find my friends." Noticing her displeasure. Arthur wisely decided not to push further. "Okay, let's see your skills as a director then."
Director?
Zayn's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at Josephine, contusion clouding his features. "When did you become a director?"
The Josephine he remembered was nothing more than the sheltered daughter of a wealthy family-a naive young woman he had married fresh out of college
She didn't even look at him. After a long pause, her lips parted, and she replied in a dismissive tone. "That's none of your business."
Zayn took a few quick steps toward her, leaning in close and lowering his voice near her ear.
Nadine musatthia
"I was just trying to help Nading out it that situation. She's an actress my company is heavily promoting, and with
didn't grep in, the media would be all over it tomorrow. Her reputation would take a serious hit."
with so many people from the industry bere, it
Josephine turned her head slightly, moving away from his breath "There's no need to explain yourself. It has nothing to do with me."
Zayn let out a cold chuckle. "If it has nothing to do with you, why are you so mad?"
Josephine remained silent
She wasn't mad
She was disgusted with herself. Disgusted that she'd trusted her judgment so completely, only to be fooled for three long years without even realizing it
But she wasn't about to argue with Zayn in front of so many people. Instead, she tumed her attention to Arthur
By now, Arthur had stripped off his shirt and pants without the slightest care for the onlookers. With a running leap, he dove straight into the pool
His massive frame but the water like a cannonball, creating a huge splash that soaked everyone nearby.
The girls, now dripping wet, didn't seem nearly as embarrassed as before instead, they laughed and squealed, thrilled by Arthur's sudden dive.
A few bold ones even clung to him, shamelessly taking advantage of the moment to touch him.
Arthur didn't seem to mind in the slightest. He shook out his blonde hair and then snapped his fingers at Josephine. "Time to take the shot."
If it had only been the girls in the pool while Arthur semained day on the sidelines, the dynamic would've felt condescending
But now that Arthur himself had jumped in, the atmosphere shifted, and the girls no longer felt awkward,
Josephine quickly adjusted the camera's aperture and other settings, her movements smooth and precise, revealing her practiced expertise. When she finally looked up after making the final adjustments, her gaze collided with Zayn's.
"When did you become a professional photographer?" he asked.
Josephine didn't respond. Instead, she raised the camera and clicked the shatter three times in rapid succession.
The moment she lowered the camera, a hand stiot out and grabbed her wrist.
Zayn yanked her toward him, pulling her into his arms. His cold, placing eyes locked onto hers as his voice dropped into a low growl.
"The silent treatment? Josephine, your attitude has gotten worse lately. Is it because spoiled you too much? Hmm?"
