Chapter 59

Mother Confessor:

Sitting down to eat my morning meal, as I have worked up quite an appetite from the rigorous activities over the earlier hours since waking. Savoring the twenty minutes allotted for the meal. Though in reality I had only fifteen to eat, and deposit the used tray before returning to my duties. Wondering what I was to learn in the days lessons starting with medicine. Digging into the delicious fruits from the very bosom of Centuria herself along with some rather odd colored eggs and toast. To wash it down and for a slight boost a cup of strong brewed tea as it is less bitter than coffee. Perhaps the elder surgical tech will show me how to treat bullet wounds, or shrapnel damage. I ponder as I wipe my slender chin of the sweet juices from the fruit. It has been most interesting to learn how to heal instead of harm. In some ways I did miss my old ways, but in many it felt better to gain insight into fixing another as opposed to mutilating them. So far in this class I have extrapolated from what I have been taught that if need be I could use the techniques to save myself as well. Though the elder female does have a strict side to her teachings. Almost like she is doing this as a favor to the Captain. Or perhaps because she has been through some pretty tight moments in her profession. I shall let it stand as a mix of the two, as I take a generous swallow of tea.

Graxis:

Watching as the retrofitted craft and armor escort makes the arc around the largest of the planets of the inner rim. The enormous gas giant turning its great red eye to gaze upon the battle ship, as we set in wait to make our next move. Keeping a closed channel communication line open, and listening to the occupants as they run through the last minute details. The only one who could respond back on the channel beside the pilot and armor, was the small Andilusion Marine. I found it most intriguing that the Ober-Commander hand managed to find such a being. His part was simple enough. Although personally I would not like to be hauled into a tight situation as baggage. Then again, it may be that much easier to be smuggled into the fortress they are presently descending upon. No doubt in my mind that even as a last minute addition to the Generals infiltration party. His job is outlined at getting a head start on finding a safe place to hunker down once the other objectives are achieved. To make his task easier, he simply has to get into the ventilations system. From their scout out an ideal safe zone and relay it back to Red Wolf.

Still up in the air as to how smoothly this will play out. As long as they gain entry without incident, the rest should be relatively simple. One thing that I am concerned with is if the Grey Captain will not simply give away our attempt against the Confederation facility. Just hope whatever the Ober-Commander had said to the small Captain was enough to keep the other from dissolving the whole mission.

Marckus:

Halfway to the bridge, I calm my nerves. I know that Red Wolf can hold her own, and that she is a force to be reckoned with. Both verbally and physically. My thoughts stray to what will be found on the installation, as I keep my steady pace up the never ending staircase. Checking my watch in the dull echo of my boots. Doubling my ascent as they will be upon Callisto shortly. Something I do not want to miss. If anything starts to turn ugly for the small squad, I want to be able to respond in kind. Swiftly and decisively.

Adrenaline fills my veins, reminding me that I hold contempt of my old faction. The chemical gives my tiring legs the boost they need to propel me upward. Becoming lightly coated in sweat from the rigorous activity. What will the Captain be thinking about, once I meet him? Perhaps he will share in my concern until the whole base is nothing more than another crater pitting the moon’s surface. I shall find out soon enough what his thoughts are, as we hold berth waiting for the precise moment to assault the enemy laboratory.
