Chapter We Meet Again

Harrison’s POV

The surprise was still in my mind when I took notice of the current state of my house. The bedroom was ok but the other rooms were torn apart like some animal has ripped them off. I know Amy could be aggressive but I didn’t know this far. But what if it wasn’t her? God dammit! I shouldn’t have felt anything for her. I have feelings for her which will only ruin us. What the hell was I thinking when I helped her only God knows. I didn’t know this girl at all. I needed to know that she felt something for me. Anything at all considering she was so cold and emotionless towards me. That’s why I was wasting months to figure out this girl via her diary and in the end, I found my broken house and nobody around here!

“I told you she can’t stay longer.” I snorted bitterly at the sound. Of course. Mocking me now.

“So you knew this will happen? Are you happy that Amy ran away? That’s why you so wanted to burn that diary which could prove I was somewhat right?” I let the venom take over but he didn’t flinch.

“Look...Amy feels the same about you. I might have read some parts of that before burning it but I knew she can’t put up with you. You and she are not meant to be together.” He said trying to reason with me.

“Oh really? So tell me, Dalton, exactly what do you think of this situation? I’m a Seeker I get it but I can control myself around her. She also have control, I’ve seen it.” I said raising my voice equally.

“I’m older than you kid, I’ve seen things. You might have control but God forbid if there’s a time when you have no choice than to kill her what would you do? And I’m not talking about choices. Some things can’t be avoided.” He said deadpanned.

“What rubbish are you saying? Speak clearly or get lost. I don’t need your pity now. I need to find Amy. She’s not good with...well other peoples.” I said unsure and tried to walk again but he stopped me.

Why I feel so empty?

“I’m not being totally honest here.” He huffed. Finally...he’s talking. I pointed at him to continue.

“When I told you that Aaron is in my basement locked up, I kind of lied. I let him go that day but I bound him with me. He has to listen and do whatever hell I told him to. I kind of was using him as a spy to know about this seeker thing more. And I knew that whatever dream you were having it’s taking a toll on you cause they are just fragment of the future-” I gaped at that but he didn’t finish, "-If any reaper will willingly call the seeker then they have no choice but to kill them. And you can open the veil of hell so when Aaron was possessed I caught some of the words like someone was going to use you to open the gate of hell. And you know how much divesting that will be.” He finished.

I still didn’t know how to feel about this. Aaron working for Dalton? Me having sights?

“So let me get this straight, you used my friend to know the secrets of the pit of hell. Then you ruined my love life... which was left of it anyway and now you want me to stop using my powers?" I said with so not friendly voice. No words could possibly describe how freaking angry I was right now.

Dalton lied.

The one person I thought I could trust...

“No, I want you to be careful. As long as the reapers are living here no one from hell can return. So they will most likely trick you to kill her. So I’m just being rational here.” He said with tired emotion like I didn’t know what was happening. Well...if anyone will tell me what is happening then I’ll know what to do!

“Then what now?" Whispering with a dull pain, I glanced at Dalton. When I came here like a madman, I thought of Amy welcoming me with that once in a blue moon smile of hers. But what I saw instead was sickening and depressing.

“You look for Amy.” I jerked at that. Wasn’t this whole conversation was about why I shouldn’t be looking out for her?

“I...you..what?” I asked him confused.

“You look for Amy and I’ll see what I can do. And back in Tennessee, some members of my clan are trying to get their hand in this matter. It will not be a matter of time that every clan will know the threat. They’ll save Amy but I don’t know about you so better safe than sorry.” He said and before I could reply a pain started to blind my way as screams of thousands of birds can be heard near me. I tried to get out of it, Dalton screamed at me to get out of here but before I know it I was pulled into a grave darkness of pain.

Amy’s POV

Dark.

That’s the only thing I saw nowadays. I’ve been locked up for weeks. I can’t stop the hunger. They have used a horrible way of punishing me until I break down. They knew I didn’t have a soul in a month. They have humans around me but I just can’t reach and take the sweet taste of it. Why...why I was the only stupid reaper left? I tried to open the blindfold but it just caused me more pain. I’m getting pathetic, that’s it.

“The pain will go away once you get used to It.” A raspy voice said near to me. Oh if I forgot the glorious details, I’ve got my real birth mother right next to my cage. She’s been here since I was brought into this room. I’ve tried to take as much information I can from her but she only knows what’s been told to her which is basically nothing compared to me.

“How long do you think we’ll be here?” I asked her hoping she has some plan.

“Until Sage wants or you have some plan.” She said tiredly.

“Are you really that dumb? Where the hell has gone that fierce woman every clan was afraid of!” I asked in disbelief. Seriously I’m starting to have doubt in Zach’s words. She can’t be the person who killed my sister.

“I know you think I’m not useful, but I just need souls. Just a little taste then I can get back to become strong enough to hurt Sage.” She said with what like hope and confidence.

“Then why didn’t you try something like this when we were caught first? If you are right...how do you plan to get out of this bind?” I asked her gesturing to the silver blindfold.

“We need to work together. And I was observing their tactic. So I needed to know how their brain works. Today is the best day to try cause they are already distracted by something bigger. Do you know any spell at all?" She asked me suddenly. My stomach churned at the news but lucky for me I had learned the basics from Zach and Hannah earlier so I nodded.

“Good. Now try to visualize my power radiating from you. You should feel the pull. I’m trying blood magic here so they don’t get suspicious.” She whispered through the bars.

I nodded again and tried to do what she said. I was losing concentration so this time I tried harder and felt the pull. It was mixed with fear, adoration, guilt, and anger. It matched mine and I felt the light that came through us. Suddenly light peered through my blindfold and I flinched. There have been weeks I’ve been on dark. When my eyes turned to normal I looked around and froze. The people I always thought were there today they weren’t. The entire place was empty and only some nagging human scents were here and there. I looked at mom and she also looked around with disappointment. There goes the thought of some souls. But at least we were free.

"Can you open the cage?" I asked her bending the iron with my hands. They might've been filled with some kind of herbs but I was immune to a small pain. Bending to the point of finally breaking, I crawled out of the cage to see my mother trying to lift the bars.

"Let me help." Thank God she almost broke the bar as I touched the cage in my hand, they lifted. My mother also crawled out of the cage, standing wobbly around me.

“I don’t know what Sage’s game is but we need to leave limbo as fast as we can.” She said running out of the room and soon I joined her.

She didn't even hug me...

“Do you even know how to leave from limbo?" I asked her once I saw the calculating look in her eyes.

“Who said we are leaving? You are leaving. I think you forgot the fact that I’m banished to hell forever. Like him, I also can’t return to earth.” She said with a dark look and I swallowed.

“Then why are you helping me?” I asked with confusion. She should save her skin since that's the type of person she was. Instead, her dark brown eyes were filled with unshed tears.

“To repentance the mistake I did on my other daughter. I ruined her life. I couldn’t force down the possession Sage had over me. He told me and in a blink, I ruined everything but this time I won’t let him ruin your life.” She said shaking my shoulder in a motherly gesture and I can’t help but hug her. If this Sage wasn’t here I would’ve lived a happy normal life with my parents and my sister. But that bastard had to drag himself in. He had to destroy everything...

So he was so going to have to pay.

Badly.

“Interesting sight to see but we have bigger problems in hand now, don’t we?" Suddenly my eyes found the culprit as his face looked like he was smirking. The bastard I so wanted to avoid at any cost.

Breath in...

Breath out...

I don’t want to kill him...

Not yet...

Get a grip, Amy...

“Long time no see, Danny.” And then I punched him.
