Chapter 1204 This is Our Territory
At night, the streets of Bardoff City were bustling with people. Tender, green leaves sprouted from trees in the early spring, showing signs of new life.
Eric, who hurriedly arrived in Bardoff City, had no mood to appreciate the surroundings. He went straight to his destination, contemplating how to take Lynette away from the Walters. Although he had brought a considerable number of people with him this time, he didn't have much confidence in confronting the Walters head-on. After all, Bardoff City was not his territory.
Little did he know that he had been under surveillance ever since he stepped out of the airport. Whatever he planned to do, he couldn't escape the watchful eyes of Jenny's people.
For the next two days, the Walters remained unusually quiet, waiting for Eric to make a move. However, he seemed to have disappeared without a trace, showing no sign of activity.
Jenny's people kept an eye on Eric. They saw him around and about every day, and if they didn't know better, they would have thought he was just touring Bardoff City.
Failing to figure out what he was up to, Jenny asked Alec, "Do you think he's afraid to make a move?"
"Don't underestimate him. Eric isn't acting like this because he's afraid. He's just waiting for the perfect opportunity," Alec replied. He never underestimated anyone, especially not Eric. Although they hadn't had any interaction, based on the information he had gathered, Alec knew that Eric was something else.
Jenny actually understood this as well, but Eric's inaction made her anxious. "Then what do you think he's doing?"
"Don't worry too much. Perhaps he's waiting for us to let our guard down," Alec said.
Jenny thought about it and figured that he might be right. Eric wasn't a fool; he probably guessed that they were all waiting for him to make a move at this time. She leaned back on the sofa, feeling bored. "I haven't been to the hospital lately. I've just been waiting here for him to make a move, but he's not doing anything. It's so boring."
"If you ask me, you should keep yourself busy. As long as everything is arranged here, he won't dare to make a move while you're around," Alec suggested. He believed that Eric might be hesitant to act because Jenny was always at Walter Castle.
That made sense to Jenny. "You're right. I'll go to the hospital tomorrow."
"Yeah, don't worry. This is our territory. Eric won't be able to take anyone away from here," Alec reassured her.
Jenny nodded in agreement and leaned on Alec's shoulder, feeling weary. She wished everything would be resolved quickly so that she could live a peaceful life.
The next day, Jenny went to the hospital as usual. However, Eric still didn't make a move, leaving everyone anxious and unable to understand his intentions.
In the following days, Jenny continued her work at the hospital. If she didn't see Lynette at home every time she returned and if she didn't receive reminders that Eric was still in Bardoff City, she would have forgotten about his existence.
Eric didn't wait forever. While Jenny was performing surgery, something finally happened at Walter Castle.
Unfortunately, Jenny was in the middle of surgery and couldn't be reached. Even if she had been notified, she wouldn't be able to leave the patient and rush back. However, she had made all the arrangements. so she wasn't too worried.
When she came out of the operating room and received a call from Graham, she quickly changed out of her surgical gown and rushed home.
The Walters had suffered significant losses, and she finally understood what Eric had been up to.
