Chapter 30 The Truth
“What

you mean?” Daniel’s rage had subsided significantly due to the drug wearing off, and he frowned at Gale. “Are you saying someone else drugged me? Not Sally?”
Gale sneered, “If you don’t believe me, check the security footage yourself. I’m not lying.”
Gale turned his gaze to Mary.
Mary stiffened.
She never expected Gale to be this ruthless!
Taking a deep breath, Mary gave Anders a pitiful look.
I
“Mary,” Anders said in shock, “Is what Gale said true? Did you really do this?”
“… …” Mary stammered, seeing Anders’s face grow darker. She decided to cry.
“Anders, you must think I’m so evil, right?” Mary sobbed. “I know you probably see me as a bad person, but everything I did, I did for you!”
“For me?” Anders raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
Mary swallowed hard and continued to cry, “I admit, I’ve always been jealous of Sally…. Even though I’ve been by your side for so long, your gaze always lingers on her… I just couldn’t take it anymore.” Sally was disgusted by Mary’s emotional manipulation
Hearing Mary’s words made Sally feel sick.
“You were jealous, so you set me up?” Sally glared at Mary. “How could you do this to me? Mary, you’re too much.”
Daniel, feeling a bit lost, realized he had misjudged Sally. He had thought she was trying to seduce him, but it was Mary who framed herl
Why? He was so excellent; wasn’t it normal for Sally to want to seduce him? Yet this woman was innocent…
Realizing his thoughts, Daniel shook his head.
God! What was he thinking?
He felt uncomfortable because Sally hadn’t tried to seduce him!
It was… so strange.
Meanwhile, Anders felt a hidden joy.
So, Sally didn’t want to seduce Daniel after all.
But then, Anders felt frustrated.
If Sally wasn’t trying to seduce Daniel, why was she in room 201?
“I’m sorry, Sally. I’m so sorry…” Mary approached Sally, holding her hand, “I don’t expect your forgiveness. I just hope you don’t get sick because of me…”
Let go of me, let go!” Sally angrily shook off her hand, and Mary fell back into Anders’s arms.
“Sally…” Mary looked at Sally with a pained expression,

Mary thought Anders would defend her, but to her surprise, Anders remained silent.
What… how could this be?
Mary silently cursed Sally.
“Gale, if you’re going to apologize, do it sincerely, okay? Gale suggested. “Why don’t you kneel and apologize to Sally?”
What? Kneel to Sally, this wretch?
Mary couldn’t believe Gale would go to such lengths to protect Sally!
Her face turned pale, and she weakly collapsed into Anders’s arms, saying, “Anders, I feel terrible… Maybe it’s my body…”

Mary continued, “Every time I think of the child I lost, my heart aches…”
Mary’s words did evoke a reaction from Anders.
“Mary is your sister, how can you disregard her condition and side with an outsider?” Anders said harshly to Gale.
“Outsider?” Gale chuckled, “Anders, if you put it that way, Sally had a close relationship with you before… So now, aren’t you the one siding with an outsider?”
“You” Anders was momentarily speechless.
Sally felt a surge of warmth in her heart.
“I have nothing to do with Anders now,” Sally said coldly. “We’re just strangers.”
Just strangers…
Sally’s gentle tone felt like a knife to Anders’s heart.
Anders wanted to say something, but Gale stepped forward, wrapping an arm around Sally’s shoulders, You heard her! Sally said you’re just strangers. So stop bothering her, OK?”
Gale’s action irritated Anders deeply.

Sally’s face turned pale.
Anders quickly revealed her selling herself at the auction: “Maybe you didn’t know. While you were
abroad, this woman went to the city’s live auction and sold herself to me… for a whole hundred million!”
“Stop!” Sally couldn’t hold back her outburst.
Feeling a fleeting sense of satisfaction, Anders left the room with Mary.
Daniel, not wanting to stay either, soon followed.
“Gale, I Sally looked at Gale, feeling helpless.
She truly considered Gale a confidant and cared about how he viewed her.
What Anders sald was true.
That was why she feared Gale would despise her.
To her surprise, Gale hugged her.

Sally cried more, “He was kidnapped, I raised the ransom, but the kidnappers didn’t keep their word… Andy was thrown off a cliff…”
Gale looked at Sally in shock and then closed his eyes,
“It’s my fault,” Gale said. “If I hadn’t gone abroad, none of this would have happened…”
Sally wept in his arms.
She wanted to tell Gale who was behind Andy’s death but couldn’t.
Despite everything, Mary was still Gale’s sister. Even if they were estranged, Sally couldn’t come between
them.
“Gale, Sally gathered her courage, “Andy has been buried for several days. Will you come with me to visit his grave?”
Gale agreed immediately, “Of course! I always saw him as my own child. I must pay my respects.”
Sally nodded through her tears, “Thank you, Gale, thank you.”
Gale left the charity gala with Sally.
