The Unwanted Luna

Chapter 42

I thanked Xavier to which he responded with a nod before changing to Ace and running into the thick of the fight tearing off the head a forsaken.

He was really a magnificent beast with jet black fur and glowing grey eyes. He was also a giant, towering over the other werewolves who looked like normal wolves in comparison to him.

Looking at all the undead and forsaken I knew I couldn't kill them all at once even with my speed so I needed the help of the darkness and shadows. With that I levitated to the middle of the field and pulled them to me. Eden was fighting Agron which gave me enough time to do what I had to do before I went to finish him off.

I extended the darkness in the same way I did with Hades but now in a large scale meaning I had lots of tendrils at my disposal.

I pushed my hands forward aiming at my targets and just like before they didn't fail me as they grabbed our enemies by the neck then severing said necks.

I did this about four times till there were only a few left, mainly Forsakens who the packs could easily deal with.

I fell on my knees feeling really drained, something that has never happened before.

"That's because you have never used your energy at such a scale" Onyx voice rings in my mind.

"How long will it take me to replenish it?" I asked because we may have killed most of the undead and forsaken but we still had Agron to deal with.

Plus I had spied on Eden and Agron and she wasn't doing much better so I needed to get to her before Agron killed her.

She had managed to get some hits though and Agron also looked a bit drained.

"A long time" she replied unhelpfully.

"How long is a long time Onyx?"

"Two weeks...probably more" she murmured, making me groan because I did not have the luxury to wait that long.

Before I could curse the world, Xavier was there helping me, Again!. I stood on wobbly legs before leaning on him for a bit.

"You're weak" he said, stating the obvious, making me roll my eyes.

"I need to end this, especially now that he is also weakened thanks to Eden" I said seriously ignoring his comment, looking at where both he and she were panting vigorously.

"I know, but no matter what happens today, I want you to know that I love you with every beat of my heart and I am sorry I took you for granted the first time. I never apologized for rejecting you and all the shit I put you through but I am doing so now. I hope when this is over you will see the man I've become and give me a second chance even though I don't fucking deserve it." he said before pecking my lips before I can react then leaves.

I was shocked by his words and his audacity. Eden's scream brought me crashing down to reality.

Turning towards them I found Eden kneeling before Agron, her back bent while he chanted words over her.

A second tortured scream propelled me to action at the time a growl of pure fury was heard.

Turning towards the sound I found none other than Alpha Ryder standing naked, hands clenched and eyes shifting color signaling his struggle against his wolf.

I was confused because this probably meant one thing, Eden was his mate. But if that was the case shouldn't he have felt the mate bond when they held her against her will?

That was something to ponder on later one. Agron was distracted and too busy with Eden so he didn't see me coming.

All deities had a weakness and just like mine was obsidian, Agron's was Erionite and Hades had given me a dagger made purely out of said stone.

Without hesitating I plunged the dagger into his mid back causing him to release a roar before falling to the ground.

I signaled for Eden to leave which she thankfully did. I withdrew the dagger then using my foot I flipped him making him face upwards.

He was still groaning in pain and I badly wanted to ask him for his last words like they did in movies but I didn't have time because one, I was weak and two I had to do it before he could regain his strength.

The fear in his eyes motivated me. I was about to take the killing shot when there was a streak of lightning and a woman appeared right next to Agron.

Her energy and power was of the chats. Never have I ever felt such raw untamed power, not even from the ruling deities.

For me that didn't matter, my main focus was killing the son of a bitch and I went to do that but I was stopped by an invisible force. My hand couldn't move and neither could my any other part of my body.

"I can't let you kill him darling" she said simply, her voice like the sounds of rushing wind.

She swept her hand and the dagger disappeared at the same time Agron stood up completely healed.

"Took you long enough" he grumbled but the woman just looked at him unimpressed, without any emotion.

"Let me go or you will suffer the same fate as the bastard standing next to you" I said, my goddess state taking over completely.

I don't know what I said but the bitch laughed but it grated on me like nails on a wall, she actually laughed and soon Agron was joining her.

"Oh sweetie, you couldn't defeat me even with the backing of all the deities of the world. You may not have heard of me but that's okay. I've been asleep for a long time and now that I am awake, I will take my rightful place"

"Who the hell are you?" I asked, curious given I have never been taught about a being that was potentially more powerful than the ruling deities.

"I am the void that existed before creation, goddess of the abyss, goddess of the nothingness and the empty. I am the gap, the eternal darkness, the dark matter, queen of chaos, goddess of the chasm of air...I am Khaos, the first of the primordial deities" she answered. Each word out of her mouth distorted her voice and form until she was nothing but a black and purple shadowy form with shining white dots and purple eyes. She almost looked like how the sky looks at night when there are a lot of shining stars.

"And now I am going to take something from you that Agron badly needs, something that is crucial to our plans" she continued just before she started chanting.

I started feeling something tearing from inside me, something that was part of me but was being forced to leave, making me scream at the agonizing pain.

It was like part of me was being forcefully ripped from me tearing me into fragments.

"What's happening Onyx?" I screamed at her, panicked.

"She is taking the part of you that makes you a goddess" she replied gritting against the pain.

I could feel that part of me resisting but the more she did that the more the pain increased and that's not the worst of it.

Ripping my state in such a forceful manner could potentially kill us since it was akin to fragmenting my soul into pieces.

I could myself losing the battle, I could feel my soul fragmenting and it was killing me. I looked up seeing Xavier pounding on what seemed to be an invisible energy shield, same with Bianca, Nolan and Selene who I hadn't even noticed had arrived. There was nothing they could do now, especially against a being such as Khaos. Given she was the first of the primordial deities meant that she was extremely powerful and not even Selene could stand a chance against her.

I closed my eyes and reached out to the bond we shared with Xavier using the little strength I had to pass on a message.

"Tell Tristan I love him, with all my heart" I whispered my voice so weak I was afraid Xavier wouldn't be able to hear me.

"No! no! no!...stay with Amelia, please" I felt his sadness, his agony and it was breaking my heart that he was going through this a second time.

"Tell Nolan to take care of Bianca and tell Sophie she better name her next daughter after me or I'll hunt her sorry ass and tell Selene I said thank you for everything she did for me...pass my love to all of them" I finished. My body was shutting down and Onyx was now quiet. I couldn't feel her presence anymore just like I couldn't even feel my own body.

I saw Hades from the corner of my eyes hiding behind the few tress that were still standing, but maybe I was hallucinating.

I fell to the ground completely drained of the essence that made me who I was, now realizing that this was his plan all along, we had underestimated him and I paid the price.

He had found a way to take my essence and while we were busy focusing and protecting Tristan (not that I regret it) I was left open for attack. This was his ace card all along. The last thing I heard as my body shut down completely was Xavier's agonized and painful roar.

...And then my entire world went black.
