Chapter 74
Chapter 74
Christine found herself in an awkward situation. She wasn’t familiar with Randall, but somehow they were discussing marriage.
However, the main point was they were claiming that she also wanted to be with him.
Christine said, “Mrs. Reeves, you’ve misunderstood the relationship between Randall and me. We have no connection at all. Besides, Mr. Reeves is a person of high status and wouldn’t be interested in someone like me.”
“I’m his mother, and I can tell he’s interested in you, Daisy replied.
Interested in her? Randall seemed interested in all women, as long as they were female.
“Mrs. Reeves, I apologize, but I already have two…”
Christine was about to reveal she had two sons, which could change Daisy’s mind.
After all, someone had pursued her overseas, and she managed to scare the pursuer off by revealing she had two sons.
However, Randall suddenly stepped into the spotlight and interrupted her with a low, commanding voice.
“What are you doing?”
As Randall appeared, the women around them became even more eager, giving him seductive looks as if they wanted to pounce on him.
Seeing Randall approach, Daisy said. “Son, we’ve bought the five–star hotel next to the hospital. This way, Nancy can eat better food now. She’s so thin, and the hospital meals don’t provide enough nutrition for her. With this five–star hotel, she can eat whatever she wants. Today, I even instructed the chef to air–freight emperor prawns, red king crabs, black beluga caviar, and a variety of fresh ingredients, including organic beef. There will definitely be something Nancy likes.”
Daisy felt a great sense of accomplishment. She simply wanted Nancy to eat well.
However, she completely ignored the fact that others were shocked by how she had bought a five–star hotel just for the convenience of Nancy’s meals.
“Madam, you bought her a five–star hotel?” Derick, the assistant standing behind Randall, exclaimed in astonishment. “Madam, could it be that you bought the hotel next door that’s currently holding a celebration? That’s a five–star hotel with a market value of 120 million dollars! And you gave it to this… this… doctor?”
Who was this ordinary woman? She was just a doctor. Why was Madam being so extravagant towards her?
Derick was dumbfounded. This seemed excessively wasteful.
Daisy ignored Derick’s shock and continued to bask in her sense of accomplishment, saying, “Money is not the point. The point is that this hotel is close to the hospital and has top–notch chefs. We even specially brought in a group of chefs from Cardolia. Since Nancy lived in Cardolia for six years, there must be dishes she likes from there. It would make a girl unhappy if she doesn’t get to eat the food she enjoys.”
Elizabeth smiled and looked at Christine. She said, “Nancy, just tell us what you like to eat. You’re too skinny. You should eat
more.”
To be honest, when Christine heard that Daisy had specifically brought in chefs from Cardolia, she was touched. After all, they were so thoughtful. However, she and Randall didn’t have that kind of relationship, and their thoughtfulness and care were ultimately… misplaced.
Christine said, “Madam, I really can’t accept your hotel and luxury car. They are too valuable.”
Daisy replied, “Why are you talking about the money again? I’ve already said that they will be yours in the future. There’s no need to refuse.”
After Daisy finished speaking, she turned to Randall and said, “Son, don’t you agree with what I said?”
Christine looked at Randall and said, “Mr. Reeves, that’s a five–star hotel worth over a hundred million dollars. We have no blood relation, yet you’re giving it to me for no reason. You’re at a loss.”
Derick’s face twisted in disbelief. Over the years, both Elizabeth and Daisy had been trying to get his boss to settle down, and he understood that. But this kind of desperate behavior was unacceptable. Why would they go to such lengths for this woman, who seemed so plain? And to spend over a hundred million dollars buying a hotel and luxury car for her.
The word “extravagant” couldn’t even describe Daisy’s actions. His boss must be extremely frustrated now. Christine looked at Randall’s assistant’s confused expression. She knew Randall must be unaware of this situation, and he was probably furious too. However, Randall couldn’t show it openly like the assistant did, considering his prestigious position.
Christine suddenly felt a sense of satisfaction. She bet Randall must be furious to the point of swearing.
However, Randall calmly said, “It doesn’t matter. Someone else will foot the bill for this hotel anyway.”

Was someone else paying the bill?
Christine looked at Randall in confusion.
With his charming eyes slightly narrowed, Randall smiled awkwardly and said, “For the five–star hotel, the Magnate would pay for it.”
Christine’s frown deepened. Why did Randall say the Magnate would pay for the hotel?
Elizabeth looked at Randall with satisfaction and asked, “Did you handle the matter with the Magnate?”
Although Elizabeth hadn’t been involved in the affairs of the Reeves Group for a long time, she was aware that the group had lost three major projects to someone else, and she had heard that it was orchestrated by the “Magnate,” who dominated the financial world in the western hemisphere. Naturally, she became concerned.
“I have signed a contract with the Magnate for the tourist city project, allowing him to buy all the industrial materials from me at a 20% premium. And 60% of the project must be given to the Reeves Group, Randall explained.
Randall examined the acquisition contract for the five–star hotel and proudly said. “We don’t have to spend any money or effort. We can enjoy 60% of Magnate’s project profit. So, you could say that the Magnate is footing the bill for this hotel.”
Christine was infuriated when she heard this. This shameless person was actually extorting her son. It was truly outrageous.
Randall looked at Christine and noticed that she seemed agitated at the mention of the Magnate.
Especially when he mentioned the Magnate, he could clearly feel her emotions fluctuating.
Did Christine and the Magnate have some kind of connection?
Randall held the acquisition contract for the five–star hotel and said with a deep gaze, “It’s just a borrowed favor. Dr. Nancy, go ahead and accept it.”
Christine forced a smile and snatched the contract from Randall’s hand, no longer refusing. She said with a self–deprecating smile, “Since that’s the case, I will humbly accept.”
Christine accepted the contract from Randall, signifying that she had received ownership of the five–star hotel.
In the past, she would never have accepted such a valuable gift. However, the circumstances were different now. This despicable man dared to extort her son, so she would not hold back!
Elizabeth and Daisy saw Nancy accept the contract for the hotel, and they exchanged smiles. In their eyes, it meant Nancy was willing to become part of the Reeves family.
When Christine accepted the hotel contract, she noticed a scorching gaze from someone in the crowd. She looked up and saw Duncan among the people, staring at her intently.
Duncan frowned, seemingly incredulous, while standing beside him was Blanche.
Blanche had come to pester Duncan again, but she hadn’t expected to stumble upon something that would make her furious. Those two clueless women from the Reeves family actually bought a five–star hotel and gave it to Christine just for her convenience and diet.
What kind of qualifications did that woman have to earn the favor of the two Reeves family matriarchs? And was Randall blind?
After all, Christine disguised herself as Nancy, looking so plain and unattractive.
