The Reborn Wife Strikes Back ( Gordon Holmes’ )

Chapter 80

Chapter 80

I thought about my past life and everything that Sabrina had done to me. I thought about how she had taken my place and arrogantly taken everything that belonged to me and how venomous she had been when she threw me into the sea. I felt a strong defiance rise inside me.

Even it she was destined to be Gordon’s sweetheart, and even if they would ultimately end up together, I would not let them do it so easily in this life. I swore this to myself.

That night, I chose to sleep in the guest room.

I was particular about the beds I slept in, so I didn’t sleep very well.

I headed to the office the moment daylight broke.

I hadn’t expected Ray to arrive even earlier than me. He told me that he had the habit of waking up early

to work out.

When he saw me arrive so early, he immediately approached me. He was sharp–eyed and immediately noticed the dark circles under my eyes.

“Didn’t you sleep well last night, Taylor?” Ray asked straightforwardly.

“No, I didn’t.”

I yawned and took out a mirror and some skincare products from my bag. I began applying it to my face.

“I guessed that you wouldn’t have had breakfast, so I prepared a portion for you. I made this coffee and sandwich myself. Try it.”

Ray was young, but he was very thoughtful.

He immediately took out the breakfast that he had prepared and placed it before me. He had even poured the coffee into a pink cup. Anyone could ten that it had been specially prepared.

“Ray, how can you be single when you’re so thoughtful?”

I was amused when I saw the pink cup.

“Taylor, I don’t treat everyone this well. I just think that you’ve been working really hard. I can also sense that you’re not very happy,” Ray said slyly.

I hadn’t expected someone as young as he was to be so perceptive. I had never shown any emotion when I was at work. How did he know that I was unhappy?

“Don’t try anything on me. I’m a married woman,” Llaughed as I teased him.

His smile was contagious.

Ray laughed out loud and waved his hand hurriedly as he said, “Taylor, don’t tease me. With a position like yours, I wouldn’t dare try to court you regardless of whether you were married. You’re totally out of my

league, and all I can do is worship you from afar.”

Ray was a very forthright young man. He never concealed anything and was very honest about how he felt. I thought it was a good thing.

From his evaluation of me, I finally realized how accomplished I was in the eyes of others.

However, it did make sense. I was the heiress of Radglo Corporation and the apple of my parents‘ eyes, I had always gotten everything I wanted, and I had been born with many advantages compared to other people.

What kind of spell had Gordon cast on me in my past life to make me feel so worthless?

I opened the lid of the cup that Ray had given me, and the aroma of coffee wafted into my nostrils. I sipped it, and the temperature was just right. It was the perfect amount of sweetness, and it tasted better than the coffee that was sold down the street.

The sandwich he had made was good, too. I gobbled it up in one go and then immersed myself in my

work.

That morning, Ray had arranged for Bryony to come in and audition, and I got to meet the woman who would soon become a rising star.

Bryony was fair, and her face was tiny. She was over five feet tall, wore a simple white T–shirt with jeans, and had on light makeup. She was still just an extra, but her audition was excellent, and she was clearly very malleable.

Once the directorial team and I had seen her performance, we unanimously gave her a high evaluation.

Over the next few days, I was kept busy at the office with the casting process. We auditioned another batch of actors and then started our discussions. Gradually, the main characters of the drama began to

take shape.

Time passed very quickly. In the blink of an eye, ten days had flown by. I left early and returned home late every day. It was always very late by the time arrived at Hovilham Residence. Gordon also seemed very busy. Although we were living under the same roof, we barely saw each other,

In the past, he had stayed in the guest room to avoid me. Now, I was the one avoiding him, so I stayed in the guest room instead.

The only different thing was that in the past, living in separate rooms had tormented me day and night. Now, I didn’t feel anything because my time was filled with work. Every day after I arrived home, I would simply shower and fall into bed at once. I was no longer bothered–by relationships.

This continued until that morning/when I arrived early at work as usual. I suddenly saw Ray talking to someone at the entrance to the office. It was a very familiar figure.
