Chapter 64
I couldn’t help blurting my thoughts out in surprise.
He patted my head heavily and laughed in exasperation.
I
“Taylor, what do you mean by that? I mean, I did graduate from Malca Worthing University with an MBA, after all. I’m just as educated as Gordon, the guy you’re head over heels for.”
Hector? He graduated from Malca Worthington University with an MBA?
My eyes widened in disbelief.
“Is that true? Why haven’t you mentioned it before?”
“These things are all superficial. Why would I need to bring it up? I was once a legend, too, but I’m simply not as high–profile as Gordon is. I don’t like doing business, and I prefer to live a life of freedom.”
Hector smiled slightly and blinked at me again.
In the past, all I knew was that Gordon’s friends all came from wealthy families. However, I had never tried to understand their lives and what they had experienced.
If I hadn’t interacted so much with Hector, I would never have expected him to have so many different
sides to him.
This suddenly cheered me up as I realized that Gordon wasn’t the only accomplished man in the world.
Why should I continue to be narrow–minded like I was in the past and only focus on Gordon?
Hector was right. As long as I was myself, I would meet someone better in the future. I could even receive the love that I desired and longed for.
“Hector, even though you can be pretty silly sometimes, I still want to thank you for what you said today.”
I looked at him and expressed my approval of him for the first time.
He burst into laughter, and the smile on his face was as bright as a ray of sunlight.
He said, “I’m glad that you’ve broken out of your thoughts. Let’s go! Take off your shoes, and we’ll splash around in the water. Let’s forget all the unhappy things that happened today because tomorrow will be a
new day!”
Hector was always up for fun.
As he egged me on, I removed my shoes off and ran to the beach with him.
He splashed the seawater on me without abandon. As I did not want to lose, I fought back with all my strength. We began to play around on the beach, and he even took me to try out riding an ATV and surfing.
It was as if he ignited a love for fun that hadn’t existed in me for a long time.
I had once enjoyed extreme sports, too. Under Hector’s guidance, I experienced the joy of extreme sports

once more.
I once drowned in the sea, but Hector made my fear of it dissipate completely.
I felt like I had suddenly become young and energetic, and I tossed the unhappiness in my heart into the
sea.
We were as wild as children, and it was only when it started getting dark that we calmed down and left the beach.
Hector sent me back to my parents‘ house.
He draped the only towel in his car around me.
When I got out of the car, he suddenly called out to me and said, “Tay, if this marriage makes you so
unhappy, then move on. There will be a better person waiting for you in the future. Trust me.”
