The Reborn Wife Strikes Back ( Gordon Holmes’ )

Chapter 51

Chapter 51

I wondered if Gordon was approving, praising, and accepting me.

Did my behavior just now represent what he envisioned for his ideal wife?

Could it be that he didn’t dislike me as much as I thought? Perhaps he didn’t dislike me at all.

With him being so gentle, I feel dazed, like I’m in a dream.

“Save the lovey–dovey stuff for later at home, okay? Gordon, come over here. Many people are waiting for you to toast, Hector suddenly sald.

As soon as he called out, Gordon let go of me immediately.

“Would you like to join me in toasting, or would you prefer to take a break?”

Gordon looked at me as he extended the invitation.

“You go ahead. I’m hungry, so I’ll grab something to eat first.”

I shook my head. After all, wearing such a grand evening gown was inconvenient. I prefer to find a spot to

relax comfortably for a while.

Gordon nodded and then joined Hector in entertaining the guests.

I glanced around before heading toward the refreshment table. Suddenly, Selena appeared out of nowhere. She smiled and grabbed my hand.

“Tay, you were the center of attention just now. Oh my, that piano piece was so electrifying. I couldn’t help

but fall for you.”

“Was it really that good?”

After being denied and suppressed for so long in my past life, I found it challenging to have confidence in

my abilities now.

“Of course! Even if Carly were here today, I’m sure it wouldn’t have made quite the same impression.

“Many people were discussing it just now, saying it was no surprise that they didn’t see Gordon taking your out. They believe he must have kept you hidden away like a treasure,” Selena said exaggeratedly, and it made me laugh.

“Quit joking around. Don’t you think everyone knows about his scandalous affairs? He wouldn’t behave like that if he genuinely cared about me.”

Selena thought I was upset upon hearing this, so she held my hand firmly.

“To be honest, Gordon was indeed a jerk before, but recently, we’ve all noticed a change. He seems to

care much more about you plow. Don’t you feel it?”

I doubted Selena’s words.

Nevertheless, I could sense he was treating me much better than he had in the past two years.

Still, this level of care fell short of love, didn’t it?

It seemed he only realized I wasn’t as bad as he had Imagined. I couldn’t sense how much he loved me.

Furthermore, Gordon and Sabrina’s relationship status remained uncertain. Despite my efforts to keep them apart, who was to say if sparks might ignite between them in the future?

With that thought in mind, I couldn’t help but feel disheartened and shook my head.

“I’m done worrying about whether he cares or not. From now on, I will just do what makes me happy. I couldn’t care less about his opinions.”

“Tay, I feel like you’ve suddenly had an awakening. You’ve changed so much,” Selena said upon hearing

my response

“Is that a bad thing? In your words, there are plenty of fish in the sea. So, why focus on just one?”

She used to give me advice like this, especially during those years when I was infatuated with Gordon. She often thought I was beyond redemption. But no matter how much she advised me, I never listened.

Selena had always lived by the principle of having fun in life.

Although she had many boyfriends, she never entertained the idea of a long–term relationship with any of

them.

They were merely a source of enjoyment to her, and she saw no reason to invest her energy or emotions

in them.

As a result, she had never truly cared for anyone and had little love interest.

“You’re right. To celebrate your breaking free from the sea of love, I’ll reward you with a piece of tiramisu. Congratulations on finding the right path!”

Selena grinned as she placed my favorite dessert in front of me.
