Chapter 46
Chapter 46
After driving away Nora, who was annoying, Hector gave me a once–over and smirked.
I rolled my eyes at him.
“Hector, do I have to degrade myself to this extent?”
He chuckled.
“I knew it. But you know, it would have been even more imposing if you had dressed up in a gown to deal
with that bitch.”
I scoffed.
“Do I really need to dress up to handle her? I could wear flip–flops and still manage it!”
Hector found my boldness amusing and burst into uncontrollable laughter. Suddenly, Sabrina approached
- US.
She appeared a bit nervous and bashful.
She asked me cautiously, “Um… Were you the lady from my family’s flower shop the other day?”
I remembered wearing sunglasses that day. However, I hadn’t anticipated her exceptional memory in recalling me. Now, she was approaching me for a conversation.
I was surprised and nodded slightly.
“Yes.”
“Ah, it’s really you!”
Sabrina beamed with an infectious warmth.
“I didn’t realize you were Mr. Holmes‘ wife. I’m Sabrina Baker, an intern in the planning department. Mrs. Holmes, if you ever need flowers again, feel free to contact me. I’ll deliver them to you.”
She was genuinely friendly. Her smile was sweet, her voice clear and natural, and she was surprisingly
generous.
It was difficult to dislike her. Her approach might have led to a friendship if it weren’t for my past life
experiences.
“Sure, give me your card.”
I glanced at her, maintaining a friendly yet distant smile. Meanwhile, Hector looked at me strangely as if he were pondering something.
“Sure thing. Mrs. Holmes.”
Sabrina immediately pulled a white business card from her pocket and handed it to me.
The card included her position, phone number, email, and personal WhatsApp. Out of curiosity, I scanned

her QR code with my phone, thus adding her as a friend.
It was getting late, and I had to change into my
vening gown and freshen up.

So, I turned toward the VIP dressing room. Hector inexplicably trailed after me.
“You don’t need to add her as a friend, especially since she’s just started as an intern at the company, Tay,
he said softly.
“Adding a friend wouldn’t hurt, right? She’s a cute and Innocent girl. Who knows, my husband might just be drawn to this type of person!”
I instinctively said those words, then turned into the dressing room.
“Why would you think that?”
Hector followed. His demeanor suddenly turned serious as he firmly gripped my shoulders, his gaze piercing.
I didn’t understand the reason behind his solemness. His eyes were filled with inquiry, which left me puzzled. I pushed his hand away.
I asked, “What’s gotten into you, Mr. Judd?
“You know Gordon as well as I do. He appreciates all kinds of women, even someone like Nora.
“Who knows, perhaps one day he’ll grow tired of the familiar and seek out something different.”
Hector appeared somewhat disheartened at my words, as though my answer wasn’t what he had
expected. He smiled faintly.
“Actually, he isn’t as fickle as you think. His interactions with those women are simply for show.”
