Chapter 28
Chapter 28
No, it couldn’t be Gordon.
Even at his most ruthless, he wouldn’t degrade himself to the point of being cuckolded, would he?
After all, I was still officially his wife.
My mind was racing with thoughts when Mona’s face suddenly flashed before my eyes.
My head swam with the memory of Mona’s betrayal. Her rooftop conversation with Willard echoed in my ears, a plot against me clear as day.
Therefore, arranging for someone to take scandalous photos to destroy my reputation and violate my dignity was undeniably the most vicious strategy. It would ensure I could never survive in Sobrough City
again.
This realization made me break out in a cold sweat.
I tried to fight back, but the water given to me by the driver was undoubtedly drugged.
At this moment, I felt as helpless as a lamb before the slaughter, completely devoid of strength.
My spirits plummeted to despair as I saw the man lunging at me like a wolf, about to rip apart my clothes.
I fell apart, tears uncontrollably rolling down my cheeks.
Suddenly, a loud “clang” echoed at the door.
The two men turned in alarm at the sound, yelling. “Who’s there?”
“Damn fools. You’ve got a death wish for daring to cause trouble on my watch!”
A man’s thunderous voice reverberated through the room. It was followed swiftly by several bodyguards storming in, effortlessly pinning the two muscular men against the wall.
“Taylor, are you alright?” The voice was familiar.
As I opened my eyes, Hector stood before me like a guardian angel.
Why was he here all of a sudden?
Confusion overwhelmed me, but he had already removed the towel from my mouth.
He quickly lifted me from the bed and breathed a sigh of relief after a rapid check to ensure I was unharmed.
He then gently draped a bath towel over my chest, asking, “You’re not hurt, are you? It’s a good thing we got here when we did, a real stroke of luck.”
Hector seemed like a different person from the past life.
His words were laced with concern. The care in his eyes felt so sincere that I could sense his body trembling slightly from the anxiety for my well–being.

“I’m fine, but how did you get here?” I managed to say.
Despite feeling weak and dizzy, the drug’s effect made me instinctively grasp Hector’s arm, my eyes clouding with confusion.
He was startled and quickly realized my condition. “Were you drugged? Let’s go, I’m taking you to the
hospital right away.
“Are you wondering how I found out your location? I was drinking with Selena and others tonight, and Selena informed me,” Hector explained as he firmly picked me up and headed toward the exit.
“Keep these two under close watch! They need to confess their mastermind. I won’t forgive them,” he bellowed at the bodyguards still in the room.
‘Tay! Hector, is she okay? Did anything happen to her?”
Selena’s anxious voice filled the hallway, clearly indicating she had run here.
“Luckily, I made it in time. A moment later and it might have been too late! No time to talk now, we need to get her to the hospital. She’s not well,” Hector urgently told Selena.
“Alright, Yvonne is already at the hospital. We need to move fast!”
By then, the drug had fully taken effect, causing me immense discomfort.
In my state of complete disarray, carrying me must have been difficult.
Yet, Hector gripped me firmly, cursing under his breath as he hurriedly ushered me into the elevator and
then his vehicle.
He and Selena rushed me to the hospital.
