Chapter 38
Chapter 43
Nadia took a break to go get some fresh air. Vance’s voice sounded too deep and emotional. He was making her seem like a heartless friend. Before she left, she recalled him saying.” You shouldn’t have done that to your best friend. She’s been the one taking care of our child. She’s been so nice and kind and she’s done nothing but wish for your safe return. I think you need to go to her and apologize. You should go now” he said.
Go to Selene and apologize?… Over her dead b*dy!
Why would she need to apologize to someone who had given her mate some medical herbs that caused him to cough out blood? How was she suppose to know that those were signs form the herb when it wasn’t meant for you? How was she?
Nadia turned as she lifted her hands and immediately started shaking her b*dy. Before she died, she had seen a group of children do it. They did it for fun but she was doing it to release the stress and anxiety off her b*dy.
Everything was becoming too overwhelming for her.
“Atleast, Vance said he liked the new me. That’s something to be grateful for” she whispered to her self. Indeed it was. She was grateful he had not been so hard to handle. He had blended quite well with her.
She shook her b*dy again as she tried to get rid of the thoughts that bothered her but somehow, her mind still wandered to Selene. That woman was causing her another. headache.
She stood still as she took a deep breath in, wondering why selene was really bothering her. Could it have been her manner? Or the things She said or anything else?
She couldn’t get her mind to place it exactly. In her opinion, everything she did was right. Unless it was a crime in Oakland to have a right to say anything or maybe think it.
It was getting suffocating for her even though she was outside and so she decided to
run.
As Nadia, whenever she felt suffocated, she would find somewhere to hide and cry but as Iris, things were different. She felt the sudden urge to run a little. Or maybe a lot. It didn’t really matter to her, as long as she ran.
Nadia tucked her shirt in a little as she grabbed her shoes and sat down to put them. Immediately she finished, she stood up and started walking.
Despite living there for the past couple of weeks, Nadia still couldn’t tell where was where. It still got a little confusing and she stood at the entrance of her house trying to

layer a map. Where she could go and where she couldn’t go, to avoid getting lost. Once she was done, Nadia readied her shoes and immediately started running. She started. out lightly but then added more effort and more and much more and soon, she was on high speed. The wind was in her face.
Once she was sure she had left the house and the areas near it, Nadia started to cool down. She slowed down on her pace until she was soon walking. She was walking a bit fast.
She got to a river side and stopped to catch her breath.
Living as Iris left good. She could never get enough of it. Nadia made a mental picture of herself kneeling every day to thank the moon goddess for the opportunity she had given to her. Yes! That was what she was going to do–to thank the moon goddess again.
She had been so busy with managing to not be noticed as Iris that she had forgotten to live as herself. She had even forgotten to ask the moon goddess the reason why she was actually given this new b*dy. What was it meant for?
Nadia walked to the waterside and stop as she stared at her reflection on it. Iris had a beautiful oval face while, if Nadia remembered correctly, hers was round. Nadia remembered having big eyes while the eyes of Iris were smallish. She looked totally different from her old self. Totally different, she insisted.
Yet, Iris was still beautiful. She had this calm aura as though she knew everything and she was powerful enough to handle anything. Almost like she was a goddess of her own or maybe of her pack. She looked really poised and that, was something Nadia could never do.
The old Nadia was clumsy as she could be. She had a tiny frame with a sickly nature. Yes, she was beautiful but other than that, often times, she was told she had nothing else to offer the pack. That was why they killed her. Lyra and Lucian.
Lyra was unbelievable but the fact that Lucian was in on it shocked her the most.
Traitors!
She was getting angry again and so she picked up a rock from the side of the tree she stood next to and threw it inside the river. The stone landed inside the river, causing the river to have ripples. The ripples disrupted the peace of the river. What was once peaceful was now in chaos. That was what happened and that was also how she felt. The calmess and clumsy Nadia was gone and now, what was left were shadows and ain for her past. She needed to fix herself to get her peace back.
And what was the best way to fix herself? She thought.
…Destroy someone else…

Destroy someone who had destroyed her
peace.
Nadia turned as she got down on one kneel to pick more rocks. She got up and walked to the river as she careful picked each rocks in her hand and threw it into the water. The water made noises as it received the rocks and created more ripples.
She turned her back as she went back to the tree, picked up rocks again and repeated the process. At the end of her third round, she felt a little relieved. She was still
pondering in her mind when she heard someone sniff.
Nadia froze in her feet as she heard it again. Someone was in the woods with her, sniffing. Possibly crying
She cautiously made her way to the back of the tree as she tried to spot on.
Who was it?….
