The Marriage That Never Was (Leonard and Lisa )

Chapter 84

Chapter 84

Leonard saw Lisa’s note at the top. It said, “I want to experience all four seasons with you. I want us to explore the world, see sunrises and sunsets, experience life’s joys and sorrows, and grow old together.” Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Is this…. written for me?” Leonard’s pupils contracted, and his heart seemed to have been pri cked.

“Yes, she said her boyfriend was having dinner with her tonight, and the love note was written for her boyfriend,” the waitress added with a smile.

It surprised Leonard that Lisa said that to the waitress. ‘Boyfriend?’

He was already her husband, though the meaning was the same. After things cleared up between them, Lisa seemed to have a lot of ideas about their future together.

‘It’s pretty greedy of her to want so many things together. But I guess it’s possible if she fulfills her wifely duties and controls her temper. Lisa isn’t as bad as I thought. In fact, from our dinner, she seems humble and eager to learn.”

Leonard peeled off the sticky note and put it in his pocket. On his way back to the table, he ran into Lisa, who had just come

out of the restroom.

Lisa’s eyes went wide, and she asked, “Did you… settle the bill?”

“Mhm.” Leonard looked at her, and there was something different in his eyes.

She insisted, “I said I’d treat you. Plus, you helped my friend a lot.”

“I don’t have the habit of letting women pay. You invited me, and I accepted your kind gesture.” Leonard dismissed it. Besides, they were husband and wife, so who paid did not matter.

“Fine.” Lisa scratched her head.

“Go back to your seat. I need to use the restroom as well.” Since he had drunk a lot of tea, Leonard turned and walked away.

Shortly after Lisa sat down, a waitress approached with a flier. “Congratulations, miss. Your phone number has won first prize at our restaurant’s sweepstakes tonight.”

Jokingly, Lisa asked, “It’s not a coupon for a discount the next time I come, is it?”

“No, our first prize tonight is a one-night stay in the luxurious couples suite at the Marriott Hotel.” The waitress handed over the flier. “It’s worth several thousand dollars, and you’ll get a complimentary breakfast. It’s a fantastic prize!”

Lisa was amazed. She only believed the waitress once she took the flier and saw the luxurious couple’s suite.

The hotel was in the city center, and the suite was new, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. There were rose petals on the bed, and guests could indulge in desserts and fine wine. The hotel also offered amenities such as an infinity pool and spa.

‘Did Leonard bring me good luck?’

“I wish you both a pleasant evening,” the waitress politely said before leaving.

Lisa was so shocked that she did not even hear the waitress. She quickly took a photo of her prize and texted it to Celine. “I hit the jackpot! A free one-night stay in a luxurious Marriott couple’s suite. We can swim and enjoy spa sessions tonight. Tomorrow morning, we’ll have a nice breakfast at the hotel.”
