Chapter 73
Chapter 73
The tattooed man quickly left with his companion. When they left the ward, he shook off his friend’s grip and muttered,” Why W you stop med Dunn it, that guy thinks he can order me around.”
“You’ve had too much to drink, so shut up,” his friend spat. “That man is not someone to mess with. He’s no ordinary person.
“Bullsh*t. He just has the looks,” the tattooed man replied.
“You don’t know sh*t. Did you see the watch on his wrist? It’s worth millions. Can an ordinary person afford to wear that?”
The tattooed man fell silent.
Lisa scanned Leonard’s majestic figure as he stood in the light. Under his dress shirt, the curves of his muscles were just Aared visible
Could it be that even troublemakers didn’t dare provoke him because of his aura?’
“What are you looking at?” Leonard asked.
“Nothing” Lisa turned away and adjusted Celine’s blanket.
The dared Celine instinctively curled up and clutched the blanket. Her pale face was uneasy.
“Celine, it’s me,” Lisa softly called out.
Celine struggled to open her eyes. She tried to sit up when she saw Lisa, but a sharp stomach pain made her recoil.
“Stay still,” Lisa said, looking at Celine’s bandaged wrist and sighing. She said without sympathy, “Did you really have to hurt yourself to stay conscious? You could’ve just told me what happened in the morning.”
“The people at the party probably came from powerful families and thought they could do whatever they wanted.” Celine’s voice was bitter. “You wouldn’t have gotten involved if it weren’t for me. It’s all my fault.”
“Why are you blaming yourself? If we had switched places, wouldn’t you have been angry too?” Lisa lifted the blanket for her. “Did you know someone was sitting on your bed just now?”
“That explains why I felt like I was being squeezed. My body ached, and my head was pounding as I dozed off, but everything
seemed so loud.”
“Forget about it. It’s fine now. I’ll stay with you tonight, and we can go back after you finish the IV drip.”
Celine nodded. Her gaze fixed on Lisa’s battered face as her guilt grew. “Lisa, you got so badly beaten because of me. Look at your face….”
Celine had not gotten a good look at Lisa’s face when they first met, so Celine assumed her face had been injured in the fight.
Lisa explained, “The bruise on my face was from before and had nothing to do with you.”
“Huh?” Celine asked. “Who did that to your face?”
Leonard, who did it, felt awkward and swore to himself that he would never hit anyone again. He asked, “Lisa, are you hungry? I’ll go buy some food.”
Only then did Celine notice the handsome, refined man beside Lisa. She thought the man was much more attractive than any other male student on campus.
“Let’s get some porridge,” Lisa said. She was also hungry and knew Celine’s stomach hurt.
After Leonard left, Celine looked at Lisa with a puzzled expression.
“Um, that’s my husband,” Lisa whispered. “You know about that.”
