Chapter 63
Chapter 63
Lucas and Benedict did not say a thing but had a tacit understanding.
Quince froze and frowned. “Luck is one thing, but Madison was just a child who didn’t know a thing back then-” Before he could finish, his phone suddenly rang.
“What?! Madison got into a fight?! Okay, I’ll be right there.” Quince shot to his feet after hanging up the phone. “I have to go to the police station. Madison got attacked at the event hall.”
Benedict was shocked. “Someone dared to attack Madison with her temper? Impressive.”
“I won’t let whoever touches my sister off the h ook,” Quince said with a sinister expression before speeding off.
Leonard did not want to get involved. He raised his glass to take a sip when he received a call from an unknown number.
“Hello, are you Lisa Jones’s husband?” the person on the other end asked, “This is the North City Police Station.”
“Huh?!’
Leonard put down his glass and furrowed his brows. “Yes, I am.”
“Sir, your wife got into a physical altercation and injured someone. She’s at the station. We tried convincing her to call her family, but she refused. We checked the records, and it states that you’re her husband, so we contacted you. Can you please
come in?”
“I’ll be right there.”
Leonard paled.
‘Great, just great. While I worried whether Lisa was still in pain, she got into a fight. She even injured someone. If she’s so capable, she should run for president.’
He stood up, saying, “Lisa got into some trouble. I need to go. You guys enjoy your drinks.”
Lucas and Benedict exchanged glances when the other two left them behind.
“What a coincidence, huh? One’s sister got into a fight, while the other’s wife got into trouble.”
“The world is full of coincidences.”
After having a few drinks, Leonard got his driver to take him to the North City Police Station. He arrived after forty minutes and spotted a familiar car parked outside.
Quince got out of the car, looking surprised. “Leonard, why are you here? Are you worried about Madison? I didn’t expect someone as cold as you to care about others. Don’t worry. I can handle it myself.”
“Get lost,” Leonard cursed expressionlessly, “I’m here to pick Lisa up.”
“Oh,” Quince said awkwardly. “Why’s Lisa also at the station?”
“She hurt someone.” Leonard approached the entrance before suddenly pausing and turning back. “You said your sister got attacked?”
“Yeah.” Quince seemed to realize something.
Their eyes met, and they saw the shock in each other’s gaze.
“I hope it’s not what I’m thinking.” Leonard quickened his pace.
Chaos greeted them as they entered the station. The place resembled a fight club as young men and women clamored and argued with each other.
“That crazy lady was the one who attacked first!”
“Her friend ruined our cake! When we asked for compensation, she started a fight. We’re the victims here!”
