The Marriage That Never Was (Leonard and Lisa )

Chapter 61

Chapter 61

“Delivering the cake to Ms. Madison should be an honor.”

“What’s the big deal about paying 150,000 dollars? It’s not that much money. Can’t you come up with it easily?”

“You just don’t understand. That amount is astronomical for people like them.”

The young lady known as Madison seemed impatient. “Enough blabbering. Either drink or pay up. Otherwise, I’ll find your friend’s food delivery company and report her. You’re still a student, right? Be careful, or you won’t be able to continue your studies in Queenston.”

Someone beside Madison burst into laughter.

Lisa felt her head buzzing. In her anger, she seemed to reach a state of calmness mixed with a hint of madness. It was as if every drop of blood in her body surged violently.

“150,000 dollars, huh? I’ll compensate you for it,” Lisa said with unexpected calmness.

Madison raised an eyebrow. “The amount I mentioned is just for the cake. There’s also the cost of my emotional distress. Do you know how much I looked forward to this birthday? Not only did she arrive late and miss the perfect cake-cutting time, but she also ruined my mood. If you compensate me another 150,000, I’ll let her go.”

“Alright, I’ll pay you 300,000 dollars,” Lisa said again.

Celine had a bad feeling and tried to hold onto Lisa. However, having consumed two bottles of alcohol, her head spun, and she could not exert much force.

“Since I’m willing to fork out the 300,000 dollars, does that mean the cake is mine now?” Lisa approached the counter and picked up the cake from its box.

“If you want to take it back and eat it…” Madison’s sarcastic remark was interrupted as the cake smashed into her face.

“I’m paying for you to eat this cake!” Lisa pushed the cake into Madison’s face, forcing her head against the counter.

A cruel glint appeared in Lisa’s eyes. “Is 300,000 not enough? Are you going to ask for more? I’ll pay for everything. I’ll give you as much as you want.”

The event hall erupted into chaos, with screams echoing as Celine got shoved to the ground. Her mind was a complete mess as she tried standing up, but her legs were too weak from the alcohol.

The entire banquet descended into pandemonium, with people smashing things and getting into fights.

The aroma of alcoholic beverages and tobacco filled the area.

Meanwhile, Leonard sat in the private room with a cigarette between two slender fingers, looking elegant despite his less- than-ideal mood. He crossed his long legs and exuded a relaxed demeanor.

The female waitress pouring drinks could not help but sneak glances at him, her cheeks blushing shyly. In her two months of work, she realized he was the most handsome man she had ever seen, especially with how he held a cigarette. He oozed

“Enough peeking. My friend here is taken,” Quince teased. “Still, you can consider me. I may not be as handsome as Leo, but I have money.”

“Drugs, too,” Lucas added.

“F*ck off,” Quince cursed. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
