The Heart Sees

"This is the pack hospital" Matt continued the tour. 'This place is huge!' Lilac shouted in my head. We had spent at least an hour walking around looking at the territory and I was trying my hardest to remember where everything is. The warriors were nice but I felt myself constantly thinking about what Troy was up to. 'I told you you like him!' Lilac purred.

"Do you know what job you would like in the pack?" Jacob asked.

"Well I have always loved to cook" I admitted shyly.

"I'm sure they could use a hand in the kitchen for group meals! We tend to eat a lot" Matt laughed. I chuckled along with him when I felt a small cramp in my stomach. I brushed it off as hunger since I don't remember when I had food last.

"Speaking of which I am starving, when is dinner?" I asked when another cramp hit, a bit stronger this time.

'Is this what I think it is?' I asked Lilac, who whimpered in my head.

'Yes, it's the heat. We have to get away from everyone and fast' Lilac whined.

I doubled over, falling onto the grass. It wouldn't be long until all of the males picked up my scent and came to try to mate with me. I clutched my stomach tightly, ignoring the pain in my leg, this cannot be happening! I groaned in pain as I saw Matt mind linking someone. "Alpha is on his way, hold on" Matt said gently.

Then everything changed.... you see an omega's in heat scent is so much stronger than a regular wolf's that it draws any unmated male within a huge radius. It makes them go crazy and if omegas aren't careful it can lead to rape and other attacks. Usually I take medicine to supress it, but since I wasn't expecting to be banished I didn't have any with me here.

I looked up and all of the warrior's pupils had dialated. Their mouths were slightly opened and they were staring at me like I was a juicy steak. I whimpered in pain, 'this isn't fair! I don't want this, especially for my first time' I yelled at Lilac, who was also hurting.

'Alpha will save us' Lilac reassured me as a crowd of men had started to gather around me. Joe was the first to attack, followed by Jacob, although Matt was fighting with himself. I felt them pulling at my clothes and trying to kiss along my neck. I whimpered, completely helpless in this situation.

Then I heard a loud growl and felt a huge rush of power and dominance. Everyone fell to the grass, lying submissively on their backs. "What is going on here!" I heard the familiar voice of Troy and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Help!' I shouted, knowing he couldn't see me. He ran over and I could tell he smelled it too... his nostrils flared and his mouth opened and closed a few times.

"You're going into heat" he stated obviously as he picked me up and started running like a crazy person. Luckily the hospital was right behind us. He dashed me into the buildng and locked us in a room. He gently set me on the bed and as soon as we lost physical contact I yelped in pain. I hadn't realized that the alpha's touch had been helping so much. I started crying and clawing at my clothes, a burning feeling spreading across my skin.

The alpha thankfully sat on the edge of the bed and held his hand over mine. It helped a little bit, but not enough to really take the pain away. "I'm sorry" I whimpered, "usually I have medicine to avoid this".

"I'll go find a nurse, maybe they have something that will help" the alpha said as he let go of my hand.

"No! Please don't leave... I don't know what will happen and you're helping" I whined.

"I'll only be a minute, just wait here" the alpha replied and I nodded, trying to take deep breaths, knowing it would only get worse. I heard the door latch and struggled to hold still as I squirmed around the bed.

"Why does this always happen at the worst times" I mumbled to myself.

Luckily the alpha appeared with a female nurse in a few minutes. "Oh my! An omega" the nurse said as she scrambled over to me. The alpha closed and locked the door behind him as the nurse started hooking me up to an IV. "Now just try and relax dear, this should take a bit of the burning away. Do you have a mate who can stay with you?" She asked and the alpha growled.

"No... " I groaned as I waited for the medicine to kick in.

"Are there any males you can trust to stay with you during this? It may last a few days" the nurse said, looking at me sadly.

"I'll stay" the alpha said, stepping forward from the door.

"Alpha... an omega's scent can be overwhelming for any male.... is there anyone else you would trust?" The nurse asked hesitantly.

"I am alpha and I say I can handle it" Troy said through gritted teeth.

"Yes alpha, forgive me" the nurse bowed. "She should be given a cold bath to help with the skin and she'll need you to keep some sort of physical contact at all times. Hopefully because of your rank basic contact will be effective. If you need anything at all just contact me by pushing the button on the wall above the bed" the nurse explained.

"Make sure no one except Terrance enters this room" the alpha ordered the nurse.

"Yes alpha" she bowed before leaving the room.

I whimpered out, clawing at my skin again, "please.... make it stop" I cried.

The alpha came over immediately, placing his hand over mine again. "Let's get you that cold bath" he mumbled before he lifted me up and brought me to the bathroom. I clung to him like a pup, curling into his chest to help ease the burn a bit. He managed to set me down, his nostrils flaring, sensing that my smell had gotten stronger. I quickly stripped from my sweat soaked clothes and climbed into the tub. The alpha must have heard me because he turned on the cold water right after. I winced a bit as the water started hitting against my butt, my injured leg hanging over the edge of the tub.

He left momentarily to grab a wash cloth and I hissed in pain at the lack of contact. Thankfully he got the hint and ran back over. He started patting the cloth along my face and neck gently. It felt nice but I really need more contact, "please... I need you" I said tiredly.

"I can't.... not like this" the alpha replied, dabbing my forehead again.

"Just.... we don't have to.... just hold me?" I begged. Troy nodded, moving behind me as he wrapped his arms around my shoulders into a hug, leaning his chin ontop of my head.

"Is this helping?" He asked softly, stroking my collar bone.

"Yes... don't let go" I asked breathily, feeling overly aroused from his simple touches.

"I won't unless you order me to" he replied and I could sense his honesty.

"Can you talk about something? Anything to keep my mind off of the pain?" I asked hopefully. I felt him tense a bit and waited patiently to see what he would say.
