The Heart Sees

I may not be able to see but I can smell... I was helping hold her up because she was going to trip again when I wiffed the most amazing smell.... I had never smelled a female omega's arousal before but I could already tell that it would be addicting. I was already struggling to control myself before this... but I was distracted when I rubbed my thumbs along her hips and felt scar lines.

'At least we know she thinks we're hot' Brax chuckled.

"What's your name?" I asked, ignoring my wolf's smart comments and trying to change the subject.

"Lucy, but I go by Lu" She said softly and Brax purred at the sound of her voice.

"And your wolf?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Lilac" she replied without hesitation. I was amazed at how trusting she was after only knowing us for a short period of time.

'I can't wait to meet her wolf' Brax purred.

'That won't be anytime soon' I growled at Brax.

"Why are you letting me stay?" She asked cutely.

"I think it's safest for you here... and I know you can't return to your old pack. But if you would rather leave I won't keep you, you're not a prisoner here" I said honestly.

'What if she leaves now?' Brax growled angrilly.

'She needs to know she has freedom or she'll never trust us. I'm hoping she chooses to stay' I admitted.

"Then why contact my old pack?" She asked.

"I want to hear their side of what happened and let them know you're not their concern anymore" I gritted out.

"Thank you for the clothes" she whispered.

"You're welcome. The cook will be taking you tomorrow to get any other items you need. Your room should also be set up by tomorrow night" I explained.

"Where will I sleep tonight?" I could feel her frown.

"In here, I'll stay in my office" I explained.

"No!" She squeaked and I raised an eyebrow at her. She quickly tumbled onto the floor, kneeling painfully in front of me, "forgive me alpha I never should have spoken to you like that" I heard the tremble in her voice.

'She's afraid of us?'Brax whined.

"It's okay, just tell me why you don't want to stay in my room" I asked as I picked her up and set her on the bed again, which was easy because of her weight.

"Umm.... I..." she stumbled over her words and I suddenly got hit by the strong scent of her arousal. I took a few steps back towards the door to calm myself down. "I can't kick the alpha out of his bed... I'll sleep on the floor" she tried to compromise.

"Absolutely not, you're injured" I growled at her.

"Yes alpha" I heard shuffling and assumed she was bowing to me again.

I sighed, raking my fingers through my hair. "Come, I want to introduce you to the pack" I said as I held my hand out to her cautiously.

I felt her hand touch mine and I shivered a little. It felt nice... I shook the thoughts up, propping her up with my arm so she wouldn't walk on her bad leg. I carried her down the stairs before putting her back down. I smiled when I smelled her arousal again... she definitely likes us. I held her tight to my side as I lead her to the yard where I had instructed the pack to gather. "There's too many people" I felt her tug on my shirt nervously.

"You'll be fine" I whispered to her and felt her nod beside me. I walked in front of the group and set Lu down gently. "Evergreen pack... I am announcing this she wolf, Lucy, as a new member. She will be staying with us from now on and I don't want anyone bothering her. Yes she is an omega but I don't want everyone interrogating her, make her feel welcome" I shouted.

"Yes alpha" I heard the group say as people started whispering about an omega.

I was leading Lu back through the crowd when a group of male warriors approached. I felt her grip my shirt tightly and I pulled her further into me. She has clearly had some bad experience with men, or new people, hard to tell. "Alpha" they said as they bowed their heads respectfully. I nodded back, recognizing their scents.

"Hi Lucy, I'm Sam and this is Joe and Jacob" one of them spoke to her as he gestured at the others.

"Hi" Lu said queitly, clearly uncomfortable.

"Any chance you have some spare time? We could show you around the pack?" Jacob offered.

"It's fine with me if you want to go, but take this" I said as I handed her a cell phone programmed with my number and Terrance's number.

"But-" she started but I cut her off.

"They won't hurt you. I just have to go make some calls and then I'll be back" I said softly to her so the others couldn't hear.

"Yes alpha" she said as I felt her shift in my arms, probably bowing to me again.

I gently passed Lu off to Matt, who helped hold her up. Brax growled in my head, jealous that someone else was touching her. "Oh calm down, she needs friends and they wouldn't be dumb enough to hurt her" I said to Brax.

"Thanks alpha" Jacob said as all of them bowed to me.

"She comes back any differently than she is now and it will be bad news for all of you, got it?" I growled at them and they all quickly nodded as I smelled their fear.

"I'll see you back at the house soon Lu" I said to her and felt her silently nod before the warriors lead her away.

'We should stay with her! How can we trust other men around our little omega?" Brax yelled angrilly.

'She isn't our omega' I sighed.

'But we both want her, I can tell you like her too. We should pick her as a mate' Brax purred.

'Do we really want to trap her with a blind guy?' I said sadly.

'She doesn't seem to mind that....' Brax said honestly and I couldn't help but think about it.

"Here, the blue moon pack is on the line" Terry said as he handed me the phone.

"Good afternoon alpha Chase, this is alpha Troy from the Evergreen pack" I started casually.

"Good afternoon alpha Troy, what can I do for you?" Chase asked.

"I just wanted to confirm that an omega has left your pack recently?" I questioned.

There was a slight pause before he spoke, "yes, she left the pack" he confirmed.

"Well she came here and I was wondering if I could have any of her belongings or files sent over since she is transferring to my pack" I explained calmly.

"What?" He growled. "Why don't you come here with her and pick up her things?" Chase asked angrilly.

"I'm afraid that isn't possible. You know where my pack is, when shall I expect the delivery?" I pushed.

"I won't approve her transfer" he rumbled.

"I don't believe you have a say in the matter after you rejected her as your mate and banished her from your pack" I gritted through my teeth.

There was another long pause, "very well I'll have it sent by tomorrow night. What do you want with the omega?" He asked.

"She came to us actually, I offered her the chance to stay with us" I said vaguely.

"Alright thanks alpha Troy" he said before hanging up.

'I wonder what that little omega is up to now' Brax asked curiously.

Then I received a frantic mind link, "alpha come quick! Something is happening with Lucy!" It was Matt.

I raced out of my office and into the yard, following their scent. 'I told you we should have been with her!' Brax growled. 'She better be okay or some heads are gonna roll' he added and I agreed with him.
