Chapter So...What do we have to discus?
2 weeks later
This one looks like a little puppy. That one looks like a boat and the other one looks like a dragon. Oh, we have a sandwich too.
I was looking at the sky, trying to figure out the form of each cloud because I’m bored with capital B. I’m in Team Work and I can’t practice with this idiots because I’m not fully healed. Apparently, I still have a very tiny scratch and I’m not allowed to do anything physical before it heals completely. Yey, no.
A head blocked my perfect view. “You have to watch us and memorize the moves! You can’t sleep while we train our asses! It’s not fair!” Sparky whined and pouted.
I rolled my eyes and seat on my butt. “Life’s not fair my little elf.”
She dropped herself next to me. “I wish that I was an elf, but I’m not and yes, you’re right. Life’s not fair. I train myself until I can’t feel my butt and legs while you sleep or look at the sky!”
“And you should be damn happy about it! I wish I could get my ass up and train, but I can’t. I can’t because I had a bullet in my chest and I have to heal completely or I’ll die! So shut the fuck up and get back to your training.” I said annoyed and got up.
“Come on, Shads. I didn’t mean it like that. I was tryin to cheer you up because you looked bored.” she tried to calm me but of course that it didn’t worked.
“And you failed miserably. Good job.” I said and headed to the dorms. I can’t participate in Fighting neither so it’s better to just go home and sleep.
I hate that I can’t do anything that involves moving, running, kicking or at last lifting things.
“No, you have to be very careful!” I said mocking the annoying voice of the doctor.
God, that doctor really is annoying.
I walked in and jumped on the couch, too tired to walk until the second floor and in my room. I’m very tired because I keep having nightmares or actually, I keep having memories coming back. It’s the same scene every single night. I’m in the middle of the fight, kicking darks asses like the pro I am when I hear someone yelling ‘NOO’ and when I turn around to see what happened, the bullet hits me and then I wake up.
I’m so frustrated that I can’t remember everything except that. When I try to remember, I get a massive headache and if I ask the guys they tell me the same thing Flame told me back at the hospital, but I still feel like something is missing.
I rubbed my face and putted my head on the armchair. Well, if I can’t sleep at night I can sleep at afternoon. I was almost in my happy land when the front door was slammed open.
“WAKE UP LAZY ASS! WE HAVE THINGS TO DISCUS!!”
I growled and throw a pillow at Flame and his big mouth. “I don’t care. I’m tired and I’ll sleep.”
“Nope. I can’t let you do that.” he said and throw me over his shoulder.
“HEY! Put me down you idiot! Where are we going? I want to sleep.” I yelled and started to kick his back, but let’s be realistic! He’s 6′2 and full of muscles while I’m 5′3 and tired.
“We have a free pass for Fighting, but we have to talk the details about the team and it would difficult to do that without the leader.” he said as he walked in the basement, in the conference room.
Everyone was already here, seating patiently in their usual seat. The only free seats were the one in the head of the table and the one on the right.
Flame puts me down in the seat in the head of the table and he takes the other one. In my right was Flame, Sparky, Ash, Lincoln and Sky, and on my left River, Black, Hazel and Sirius.
“So....What we have to discuss?” I broke the awkward silence.
River was the one to answer. “You have to decide who is the spy, the strategy guy, the main fighters, your second in command and I don’t know. Everything else you want.”
I nodded my head in understanding. “I think I need a papers guy too because I suck at reports and papers.”
Flame started to laugh. “Yes, she really does. One time when she had to write an essay about her favorite kind of food and she wrote the receipt for muffins.”
Everyone started to laugh except me. “Haha, very funny. I know one thing until know. I won’t name you as the papers guy because that person needs to actually have a brain unlikely you darling.” I said with a smirk.
He stopped laughing and glared at me while the others laughed harder. “I see that the dry humor is from the family too.”
“Yes, indeed. SHUT UP EVERYONE!” I yelled and suddenly, it was very silent.
“Better. I chose as my strategy person, Sparky. But I’ll help you too with all the strategies and plans, as this idiots will. You have to just make the schemas and we will help you to develop them in a masterpiece.” I said and waited for her answer. She can accept it or decline it.
She was a little shocked but smiled. “I’ll do it and I’ll come with the most spectacular plans.”
“Good. The main fighters will be Flame, Ash, Black and Lincoln. Flame you will be the head of the fighters. You guys will be the first ride until the rest of us will get ready.”
They all nodded their heads and Flame smirked. “I knew it.”
I rolled my eyes at his cockiness. “The spys will be Hazel and Sky.”
Hazel did an air fist bump. “YASS. Thank you ma’am. We won’t disappoint you.”
Sky was looking like he was about to faint. “Why me?”
I smirked at his question. “Because you are the perfect person for this. With that innocent face of yours, no one would think that you are a spy from the rivals and I know that you aren’t a loser. I believe in you and I’m giving you the chance to prove everyone that you aren’t a loser and a coward.”
He studied my face to see if I was lying, but it was full with honesty. “Okay. I’ll do it.” he said with confidence and smiled.
I smiled back at him. “Sirius you will be my papers guy because you are full of bullshit and diplomat.”
He smirked proudly. “I know, thank you. And of course that I will do it.”
“As my right hand and second in command I chose River because I’m new in this leader thing and I need someone with experience and calm to teach me what to do and explain me when I do something wrong.”
His smile was so wide that it can reach his ears. “I’m honored to be your right hand and teach you all I know.”
I smiled back at him. “That’s good because I don’t take a no as an answer especially for that post. Now I have one last post. I chose Ash as the trainer because he knows better then me or any of us, what exercises we need to be more powerful.”
“I would love to train you so hard that you will forget your names and collapse on the ground.” he said with an evil smirk.
“I know that and that’s why I chose you. Because I know that you won’t go easy on us. This were all the post I had, so if anyone has another suggestion I’m listening.” I waited for one of them to say something, but when they didn’t I continued. “If no one has anything else to add, this meeting is over.”
“Wait! I have to say something.” River said when we wanted to get up.
I seat back down. “I’m listening.”
“The principal said that we will have another mission soon and we have to be prepared.” He said with a pissed off face.
I sighed. “I’m not happy about this neither River, but this is our job. We save people and we have to put up with all his bullshit. Did he said about what this mission will be?”
He shook his head. “No. He only said that we have to be ready in any minute to leave.”
“Just wonderful. Maybe he will send us in Alaska this time. Or maybe in another suicidal mission. Does anyone has another marvelous announce?” I asked more tired then ever.
All of them shook their heads. “Good. This meeting is over. You can go and do whatever you want. I’ll go and take a nap.” I said and got up stretching. My bones popped back in their places and I went upstairs right into my room.
I changed into a red Deadpool pajama and climbed in my bed. “I love you bed.” I muttered as I snuggled in my blanket.
In less then 1 minute, I was fast asleep.
I heard someone yelling ‘NOO’ and when I turned around to find the source, a sharp pain erupted in my chest and I started to fall.
“FUCK.” I yelled and woke up on the floor.
Well, I really fell, but this time on the floor. I rested my head on the bed and rubbed my face while listening to the peaceful rain. I want just one damn night. ONE damn night without any of this bullshit. I want to sleep peacefully for just one night.
I got up from the floor slowly, trying to not wake up Sparky but when I looked at her bed it was empty. I furrowed my eyebrows together.
Maybe she is at the toilet or in the kitchen for a midnight snack.
Suddenly, a midnight sack sounds so good.
I made my way downstairs in silence like the bad ass ninja I am and entered the kitchen. I didn’t bother to turn the lights on and I started to look through the fridge.
Waffles or Bacon? Waffles or Bacon? Waffles.
I grabbed 2 waffles from the fridge, even if I don’t know why the heck they are in the fridge, and made myself a cup of cappuccino. Shadow doesn’t drinks coffee.
After I finished making the cappuccino, I took the cup and seat on the counter so I could stare at the forest better, of course, after I opened the window so I can hear and see better. In the kitchen we have a very big window and you can see the forest perfectly from here.
The rain was falling in a peaceful pace. The forest looked more calm and the leafs were shining in the moonlight thanks to the water painting them in a darker color.
“What are you doing up at 2 in the morning?” I jumped in surprise and almost dropped my cup.
I turned around and glared at the person. “You should stop doing that.”
Black chuckled and seat on the counter next to me. “Sorry. I thought that you heard me.”
I looked back at the forest and hugged my cup closer. “You thought wrong.” I said and shivered. Damn it was cold.
He looked at me and disappeared to come back in less then a minute with a big black fluffy blanket, and he placed it on my shoulders. “You have to be careful until you are completely healed.”
I rolled my eyes with a small smile. “Yes, dad.”
Since I came back from my little hibernation I felt a little weird around Black, but I don’t know why. I have a vague idea why but I’m declining it.
I can’t have a crush on him. Nope. This isn’t the reason. It has to be something else.
“About what are you thinking so hard?” he said pulling me out of my thoughts.
He was already staring at me with his beautiful eyes when I looked at him.
I shrugged. “Nothing important. And why are you asking if you can read my mind?”
I was praying to God that he didn’t read my mind because that would be really awkward.
He looked ahead. “I can’t read your mind. You are the only person which mind I can’t read. I only can see your dreams.”
“Oh.” I was doing a mental happy dance and looked back at the rain. I smiled and wrapped the blanket around me better.
“I see that you love the rain, but why?” he asked and I could see him staring at me from the corner of my eye.
I took a sip from my cup and smiled again. “I love the rain because my best memories happened in a rainy day. And the rain always calms me down. It doesn’t matter if I’m feeling sad, angry, anxious or whatever. It always calms me down.”
When I saw that he didn’t uttered a word, I looked at him only to see him staring at me intensively and I feel a little zoo in my stomach. “What? I have something on my face?”
He chuckled and shook his head. “No. Your face is as beautiful as always.”
I cursed under my breath when I felt my cheeks getting red. “Thanks.”
He started to laugh and pinched my right cheek. “Awww. You’re so cute when you blush.”
“I’m not blushing! I just got really hot under this blanket.” I said slapping his hand away.
*mental facepalm*
Good job genius. That was such a credible lie.
“No. You are always this hot.” he replied with a smirk.
This time I had a good comeback. “Thanks but I can’t say the same thing about you.”
His jaw could hit the floor. “That was a good one.”
“I know. Do you want some ice for that burn?” I asked sweetly.
“I’ll survive without it.”
“You sure? Your ego can get bruised.”
He glared at me. “This your revenge, isn’t it?”
“Bingo! And I think that you need some ice for the second burn too.” I couldn’t help myself. I had to say that.
I started to laugh when I saw his annoyed face. “You started it big guy.”
“And I’ll finish it if you don’t stop.” he said with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“And how would you do that? You will drown me in your big and deep ego?” I said confident with a smirk.
He smirked back. “No. I’ll stop you like this.”
I was expecting him to black mail me, tickle me or maybe smack me, but I never expected him to do what he did.
He kissed me.
