Chapter 170

Chapter 170
“Mr. Kinsman, Mrs. Kinsman’s signal is gone. Could she have found out that she’s being tracked?”
Marshall asked, suddenly aware of the missing signal as he was driving, guided by real-time updates.
Although he had only met Olivia a few times, he already knew that she was not one to be easily fooled by ordinary tricks.
“The spot where the signal disappeared is logged in the system. Head that way and step on it,” William instructed, glancing at
the marked location on the map and making a snap decision.
“Yes, Mr. Kinsman!”
“Hmm? Mr. Kinsman, the place where the signal vanished appears to be a me ntal asylum. What could Mrs. Kinsman be doing
there?”
Marshall’s attention was drawn to the name “Blueway Asylum” that popped up on the navigation system after he reset it.
William noticed it too, and a knot of worry tightened in his stomach.
This was hardly a place for a romantic rendezvous. Why would Olivia go there?
Had she uncovered something?
“Something’s fishy,” he thought, his anxiety mounting.
Switching screens on his phone, he dialed Jameson’s number.
The call was answered almost instantly.
“William, I was about to call you. Something might’ve happened to Liv!”
Jameson was racing to find Olivia, his car eating up the miles.
Minutes earlier, he was idly planning to hit the bars with some ladies when he discovered Olivia’s abnormal vital signs.
Her heartbeat had plummeted into sleep mode after a wild fluctuation, and he had leapt from his couch in alarm.
Grabbing his phone, he had dashed out, his coat left behind.
He had planned to call William after driving smoothly, but he didn’t expect William to call him at the same time.
“Calm down and tell me what happened,” William instructed, trying to hold his own worry in check.
“I detected Liv’s heart rate entering sleep levels, and other data’s way off. She’s either passed out or at death’s door...”
Jameson’s voice trailed off, his foot pressed down on the accelerator, speeding the car up to 200 miles per hour.
The roar of the engine matched William’s turbulent heart.
“Where is she now?” he asked, fighting to keep his voice steady.
Since Jameson was rushing over, the bracelet he had arranged for Olivia would be able to locate her.
“According to the signal of the bracelet, she’s in the Blueway Asylum, in the northern suburbs.”
“Meet me there, and keep me posted.”

“OK.”
“Mr. Kinsman, has something happened to Mrs. Kinsman?” Marshall asked. He couldn’t hear what William was talking about on
the phone, but he could clearly see William’s tense expression.
“Marshall, send the special forces to the northern suburbs.”
William did not reply. Instead, he gave the order.
“Yes, Mr. Kinsman!”
Marshall, realizing the gravity of the situation, wasted no time in issuing the instructions.
William glanced at the sunflowers on the seat beside him, worry washing over him like a tidal wave. “Olivia, you must be alright!”
he thought.
They were already heading north, following Olivia, and had been close by when they noticed her distress.
Therefore, in less than ten minutes, they reached Blueway Asylum.
The gates were wide open, and an unsettling silence hung in the air.

Chapter 170
It was as if there was no life in this place other than them.
Only Olivia’s car was parked, isolated in the lot.
William got out of the car, looked around, and strode toward the main building.
It was eerie quiet, which always made people afraid. “It’s eerie quiet, Mr. Kinsman. It could be a trap!”
Marshall followed beside William and warned.
“You’re right, let’s split up and search. And be careful.”
At that precise moment, deep within the underground lab room.
Olivia stirred to consciousness. Dazedly, she realized she was seated on a lone sofa. On the coffee table before her was an
open laptop.
Its screen was displaying what appeared to be surveillance footage of the asylum.
Olivia subconsciously wanted to get up, only to find that she was weak all over, as if all her strength had been drained.
A fog enveloped her mind, threatening to pull her back into the depths of sleep.
Despite her best efforts, all she managed was to break into a cold sweat, not moving an inch.
Just then, a familiar face flashed across the laptop screen..
“William?”
He still came!
Olivia was a little anxious.

Before she could call out to him, the screen shifted.
An eerie grin, unmistakably that of Lone Wolf, filled the frame.
“Darling, you’re awake. Let me tell you quietly. My prey has already entered the field. I’m going to start hunting!
“Haven’t had a challenging target like William in ages. Thrilling!
“Hahahaha...”
His laughter, chilling and spectral, echoed. Olivia tried to shout, but a sharp pain in her throat silenced her.
She could only watch helplessly as Lone Wolf darted through the hallways, inching closer to where William was. Panic welled up
inside her.
Lone Wolf would definitely use her to threaten William. She could not just sit here.
With sheer determination, Olivia gritted her teeth and took a lot of effort to raise her hand.
She had noticed that there was an emergency button nearby.
As long as she pressed the button, William would definitely notice that something was wrong.
Thinking of this, Olivia tried her best to move forward. She grabbed the handle of the sofa and tried to stand up. But just as she
was about to reach it, her strength waned.
She was too sleepy.
Olivia slumped back. She felt as if she was about to fall apart. She was dazed and saw stars.
After what felt like an eternity, her vision cleared, and she refocused on the screen.
William was desperately searching each room, a mix of hope and despair evident in his eyes.
The hospital seemed eerily empty-all part of Lone Wolf’s sinister setup.
And Lone Wolf, lurked in the shadows, lying in wait for William.
Knowing William’s frantic state, Olivia feared that if Lone Wolf struck now, it might be dangerous.
Driven by this fear, Olivia panicked, and her consciousness sobered up a little because of the impact of her willpower.
With renewed vigor, she lunged toward the red emergency button on the wall...
