Chapter 58 

“Christy, you are working here! It turns out that the ridiculous news is not all fake! Where have you been all these years? I miss you so much! How are you doing?” Renee asked. 

Christy didn’t expect Renee to care about her at first sight instead of questioning her about those scandals on the Internet. 

Christy felt warm in an instant. 

“Renee, I’m fine. Thanks for your concern, Christy said with a wry smile. 

“To the Osborn family, I’m just a burden without kinship. I have disengaged from the Osborn family, so I don’t know how to talk to you… 

After hearing this, Rence said angrily. “Did Walter and that woman drive you away six years ago? Christy, you don’t have to be afraid of them! Tell me what happened, I’m always on your side!” 

“No, they didn’t. I left the Osborn family myself. It is good for all of us. Renee, you don’t have to argue with them for me. It’s unnecessary, Christy said tonelessly.

She and Joshua had never been together. Apart from being the biological father of the two kids, Joshua had nothing to do 

with her. 

Therefore, the statement of the mistress did not hold at all. 

“I knew it! You are such a good girl, and you will never do such a thing! Gloria has developed so smoothly these years. It must be her competitors discredited her deliberately. And they knew you were here in Stellar Group, so they made you the scapegoat by accident.” 

Renee was warm–hearted and had a sense of justice. Also, she talked a lot. 

Edith passed by the reception room with a gloomy face. 

She thought that Christy must be humiliated by Rence at this moment. 

However, through the glass door, she saw that Renee and Christy were talking about something happily. 

Renee looked excited, and she didn’t seem angry at all. They had a good time talking. 

“How could it be?” 

Edith couldn’t believe it. She didn’t know why all men and women would be fascinated by Christy.

Renee looked at her phone and saw that it was almost noon, so she said to Christy, “Christy, we finally met, why don’t we go out for lunch together? I’m treating you. Don’t refuse me, or I will be angry!” 

“Renee, you don’t have to… I…” Actually, Christy didn’t want to go. 

She still had a lot of things to do. 

In the past two days, she couldn’t do her work well because of being upset by Joshua’s affairs, and she finally calmed down 

now. 

“Christy, don’t tell me that you still have to work. Have you forgotten that I am your client? I haven’t read your first draft yet! Well, I like to discuss the design of my concert in a superior environment, not in this narrow and unpleasant space. You should refuse me whether it’s for business or private reasons,” Renee said with a smile. 

“Fine, Renee. Let’s have lunch together.” Christy didn’t even have a reason to refuse Rence. 

“That’s right! Sometimes, you can’t be too rigid at work! Especially if you are doing design, you need to absorb more inspiration. Let’s go, I will take you to a good place,” Renee teased Christy. 

When Christy came out of the reception room with Renee, she was stunned for a moment. She didn’t expect Edith to stand outside the door. 

“Edith, Mrs. Barnett asked me to have lunch with her, and we’ll keep talking about the designs by the way. Can I go out for a while?” Christy asked. 

After all, Edith was the vice supervisor, so she was also Christy’s superior. If Christy had to go out during work hours, she had to apply to Edith. 

“Mrs. Barnett asked Christy for lunch? It’s her first time meeting Mrs. Barnett, and she was asked for lunch? How could it be?” Edith thought.

Edith hated and envied Christy in her heart.

“Do you still want my order or not? Why did your company hire someone like you? You are so tacky! How could you have the cheek to snatch a client from Christy when you have no strength? I don’t know how you became Christy’s superior,” Renee said coldly. 

She didn’t buy what Edith said at all, so she criticized Edith severely and showed no mercy. 

“I…” Edith’s face turned pale after being scolded. 

She then realized that Renee was a big client, so she dared to offend her. 

Edith hastily apologized, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Barnett. I didn’t mean that. 

“Christy is the newcomer with the most potential in our department. It is her honor and our company’s honor that you appreciate her ability! 

“I’m just worried that her lack of experience will make you unhappy. Now it seems that my worry is unnecessary. I won’t disturb you then.”
