Chapter 57
Joshua personally took Alan to the hospital yesterday when he was running a fever. Then he did him a body check along the way. The doctor said there was no injury aside from his fever.
The doctor even joked that Alan was so strong.
“It’s just a low fever, and he’d be right as rain with just some Aspirin. Get some sleep and he’ll be fine tomorrow.”
This was the kid that escaped from a group of armed kidnappers, and swam over 0.3 miles in the river.
Joshua wouldn’t believe how far his son pushed himself if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes.
Such an act might not have been possible even for an adult, yet his son did it.
Terence then continued. “With all due respect, Mr. Melendez. Miss Clara seemed quite normal. But Mister Alan seemed to have undergone training for special agents behind Miss Christy’s back.
“There’s no denying that Mister Alan would have died had he not received his special training. These skills saved his life, but such training also scarred him severely. I feared that this would affect him growing up…”

How twisted could this man’s mind have been to train an infant into an agent? It was obvious that this person had no love for Alan, and even harbored resentment towards him!
There would be no forgiving that man!
Who the hell did she meet since she went to Aeloria Country six years ago?
Joshua said in a heavy voice. “Terence, find out more about what happened to Christy in Acloria Country.”
“Mr. Melendez, Terence reminded Joshua, “I’ve already tried before. Christy’s file was redacted; all that was available was just the tip of the iceberg. She might be someone big if she has power over the Melendez family. Be careful, Mr. Melendez.”
“I don’t care who he is. He brought harm to my girl and my son. I’ll have his hide for this.” Joshua’s eyes turned intimidating. and aggressively he spoke.
No one was aware that the two kidnappers mysteriously broke their feet before being arrested, and were stuck in wheelchairs for the rest of their lives. They were sure they only broke their feet by accident, and no one was responsible.
It wasn’t long before both kidnappers died inside the prison. Seemed like something didn’t agree with them.
As for Marlow, the kidnapper in charge. He had already committed suicide before the police apprehended him. He left at note admitting to his guilt without reservation, stating that all of his wrongdoings had nothing to do with his wife and children, and that he was willing to bear the burden alone.
And so, that concluded the kidnapping incident. And later, it became taboo, but that was another story. On the other hand, Christy started working again.
She barely punched in for about an hour, and rumors about her and Gloria shifted again.
Every piece of evidence before seemed to have been lying: even the so–called photo evidence was pointed out to have been. forged. Someone was trying to smear Gloria for being famous.
A married idol was cheating on her husband, and it caused quite a stir in the entertainment business, overtaking the gossip of Christy and Gloria fighting over some guy.
And everyone’s attention was diverted.
People no longer cared whether Gloria hired someone to smear Christy, or if Christy really was the homewrecker.
Of course, Christy was well aware that Joshua and the immeasurable power of his family were behind all this.
This might have been the best result for her, minimizing the impact.
Little did she know that several media firms had gone bankrupt in the past few minutes.
Everything about Joshua had been forbidden.
No one dared to write anything about it.
Therefore, Christy returned to her work.
Edith was the vice president of the planning department. One day, the department received a large number of orders, and the manager, Ernest Boone, was assigning tasks to everyone.
Edith was still hostile against Christy.
One of the orders was about a themed poster and invitation design for Renee Barnett’s concert.
Renice was no star, but her husband was a millionaire. Renee wanted to live her dream, and she rented a concert hall to host a small concert.

Rence was nitpicky and tough to deal with. She could always find flaws in perfect designs no matter what.
One of the colleagues resigned for being fed up with her, and his spot opened up for Christy.
Edith grinned maliciously. “This should be good,” she thought.
Then she said to Christy.
“Christy, why don’t you take on this order? Rence is a big client for us, and she wouldn’t stop at just a design, she also ordered custom–made jewelry and clothing with us. You need to satisfy her to the best of your abilities.”
Edith was a fan of Gloria, and she assigned Christy their most demanding client to get back at Christy for her idol.
“Sure, Edith. I’ll do my best. Christy did not realize that Edith was making it hard on her; she believed everything was copacetic, and her life had returned to normal.
“Right. So the client was scheduled to arrive at ten. Hurry up and make a draft before she arrives. We’ll see what changes she would make.”
“Sure. I’ll get right on it.” Christy answered energetically.
She still got one hour before ten.
It wasn’t hard to make a draft.
The busyness wasn’t tiring for Christy. Instead, it helped her take her mind off that guy, and lifted her spirits.
“So what kind of person is this Renee Barnett? What exactly does she like?” Christy thought of that and opened the dossier.
She was shocked the moment she opened and laid eyes on Renee’s dossier.
Wasn’t Renee in the photo her own aunt?
Rence was unlike everyone else in the Osborn family. She did not treat Christy less for being adopted, and viewed her as their equal.
Later, Renee married a wealthy tycoon named Barnett, and she had barely returned since.
Christy never contacted anyone in the Osborn family after the accident aboard the Starry Dreams Cruise six years ago. That included Renee.
Christy sighed, and dove into creating her design.
An hour soon passed.
Renee arrived on time at the Stellar Group, and was surprised that Christy was the designer they sent to negotiate with her.
“Christy! My eyes better not be deceiving me. Is it really you?”
“How are you, Renee?” Christy asked with a smile.
Renee held Christy’s hands excitedly. “I and Nelson are getting lots better, my dear Christy!”
